Adalyn woke up the next morning. Saying a little prayer, she grabbed her phone to read the messages she missed on the GC with her new friends.
While brushing her teeth, she skimmed through the text messages and almost choked because of a funny message. 'Gosh, Joy and Yasmin are crazy,' thought Adalyn to herself.
Eventually, she made it to the kitchen to see that breakfast was set but Logan wasn't in the room. "Wait, a sec…" she rushed to his side of his house.
Could he have left her alone in this house again? She wanted him around but that didn't mean she wanted to spend time with him or get to know him.
Well, Adalyn could say she only wanted them to have breakfast and dinner together. Other businesses they have shouldn't concern each other because she definitely didn't want to have any connection whatsoever with a demon like Logan.
She remembered how he softened her heart and reconciled with her last night. He was so good at manipulating someone and only a devil possessed such ability.
But still, she wanted him around because he was the only one she had in this new town and she needed his money before getting a new job.
Adalyn entered his room unannounced and without knocking, which was something she couldn't accept. Well, this action of hers made her laid her eyes on something she definitely wasn't ready to see or interested in seeing.
"Why are you naked?!" She pretended to cover her eyes with her palms, when she actually was parting her fingers to see between them.
"I'm in my room and I didn't expect a lady to come in here without knocking. How disrespectful!" However, he didn't do anything to stop her from seeing him naked.
"Aren't you going to cover up?" She dropped her hands.
"Why? Haven't you seen everything?" He walked closer to her.
"Don't!" She outstretched her hand, gesturing to him to stop coming closer but Logan didn't so she ran out of his room.
"Come on, Adalyn! Don't tell me you are scared of my p*nis!" He mocked her.
Adalyn found herself grinning as she walked back to the kitchen. "Mad man," she said to herself.
When Adalyn reached the kitchen, she sat down on her usual seat, contemplating if she should wait for Logan or not. She was satisfied that the demon was still in the house and hadn't left.
She didn't plan to wait but chatting with her friends delayed her a little.
What her friends said, however, shocked her. "We don't need to do that," she typed as fast as she could before one of her friends dropped a message. She knew when Logan joined her but didn't acknowledge it because she was trying to stop her friends from making her go on a triple date with them.
Joy suggested that they create beautiful moments with the husbands because they all seemed to have something to complain about. Yasmin agreed because she noticed that she and her husband hadn't spent much time with each other ever since they both got a job.
Now Adalyn was the only one opposing. She didn't want to spend time with Logan, she didn't want to create memories with him and didn't want people to know that the evil dark man was her husband. She also didn't want to give Logan the impression that she wanted something between them.
She dropped her phone in anger and confusion. She placed her hand on the table, resting her head on her palm with her elbow supporting.
"Adalyn…" she dragged her gaze his way, making it appear as if she was glaring at him when he called her name in a low calm voice.
"What do you want?" She asked in an arrogant tone.
"Can I have your phone number?" He asked. Their marriage was so arranged that they didn't even have each other's phone number.
"Whatever," she handed her phone to him, caring less about what he might see in it and began to eat.
Logan saw messages popping up but he didn't check anything. He just dialed his phone number and saved it with 'My Handsome Husband.' He knew she'd be pissed off once she saw it but he was prepared to face anything.
Then, he called his phone and saved her number with 'My Little Monster.' He somehow liked the name because his wife was literally a monster who needed him anytime she loses it.
He didn't know that he had been staring at her for a while now until she gave him that stare.
In the beginning, it was Adalyn who was scared of him but two to three weeks into their marriage, it was Logan who had to adjust his ways for her. She changed almost everything in his house to her preference and he had to put up with it because he didn't want to upset her and he also wanted her to be comfortable because she was going to be the mother of his children, thus, he had to take care of her.
"I'm not meddling," he raised his hands as if he was surrendering to something. " I'm just concerned. Why are you moody suddenly?"
Adalyn was contemplating if she should tell him about the triple date but she didn't want him to think that she wanted him.
Logan waited for her to speak because her eyes on him made it seem as if she was ready to tell him.
"I'm going out," she pushed back her chair to leave. Logan looked at her remaining meal and ignored it. .
"I told you that I want to…"
"Please Logan, mind your business," she used her hand to gesture for him to stop talking to her.
"I'm driving you to anywhere you are going whether you like it or not," he left the table as well without eating.
"Won't it be weird to have a man at a hair salon?"
Logan walked closer to Adalyn. He didn't know what was going on in her head but she was looking at him differently.
He touched her long hair, expecting her to push him away but she didn't, then in a soft tone he said, "I love the texture of your hair. It's beautiful. Why are you going to the salon? If you need…"
"I'm meeting up with my friends and Yes, you should have filled my account with millions of dollars but you disappeared. Well, you don't have to worry too much because I'll be getting a job soon," she proudly said and began to look at her nails.
"Wait here for me," lines formed on his forehead as he raised his eyebrows. With his super speed ability, he dashed through the living room and returned in a second.
Adalyn hadn't gotten used to that so she was stunned. She stopped breathing for a moment, looking blankly at Logan who was standing in front of her like he never left.
At first, he was confused to see her stiffen but then he realized that she wasn't used to witnessing him act with his supernatural abilities. He smiled because it happened to be a great opportunity to tease her so he leaned closer to her, aiming to kiss her but instead of at least touching her lips with his, he got a slap on his cheek.
"Adalyn…" he held his cheek even though it didn't hurt him. "Can't I kiss my wife?"
Adalyn frowned at him and grabbed the card in his hand as if she knew he was going to get his credit card. "Should have done this since," she flipped her long hair as she walked away from him and as planned, her hair slapped his face, mesmerizing him.
Logan pressed his lips into a thin line. 'Why is she so bossy and sassy?'
