Adalyn was hoping that Logan wouldn't be so persistent in driving her to where she was going but Logan was.
"Adalyn!" He called out to her when she was about to leave the gate. She loved it when he just minded his business but had he ever done that? He was always making her participate in a lot of things just because he wanted children with her.
"It's not far from here. I mean, I can burn calories by walking there!" She yelled because the distance between them was wide.
"You are a billionaire's wife, act like one," he had left the car door open and walked up to her.
Adalyn saw him coming and couldn't help but wished that she had the power to disappear. She didn't want her friends to hate her if they found out that Logan was her husband.
She just started a new life and she didn't want anyone to destroy that for her just like her parents did in California.
Adalyn gave up for the first time and allowed Logan to carry her and placed her over his shoulder like a bag of rice.
"Do you know that I hate you?" She said against his back.
"You tell me that all the time and I think I'm getting used to it," he rushed back to his car, making Adalyn experience what it felt like to speed up. She liked it. She really liked it.
Adalyn was placed on the passenger's seat. Seeing that she wasn't ready to cooperate, he tucked the seatbelt in for her.
"I can go by myself!" She cried, looking angrily at him.
Logan looked at her as if there was something on her face. "There's something I've been meaning to tell you," he leaned closer to her but she punched him in the shoulder.
To Adalyn's surprise, he didn't flinch. Instead, Logan grabbed her hands and pinned them down. "What are you doing?!" She gritted her teeth because she was struggling to free herself.
'He's so strong,' she couldn't believe it.
"Let me go," she frowned.
"For once, Adalyn… For once stop being so stubborn," he said calmly. "I'm your husband and I cannot harm you."
"I just don't like you," she could spit on his face.
"You are beautiful," his gentle smile felt so unreal because his face appeared so cold. His appearance seemed to be the opposite of what was on his inside. "I wish I was able to tell you this on our wedding day. You looked stunning in that gown and…"
"... It was all make-up," she looked away, not even realizing that Logan had freed her. 'I don't remember John complimenting me with a sweet smile like this.' She was stunned and turned to look into his intimidating blue eyes. Oh, his blue eyes scare her so she always looked away and she did the same again.
"I just want you to know that. Everything about you is beautiful except your rotten attitude," he sneered at her for the first time.
She was quick to react to his other statements and reactions. "How dare you? Have you seen yourself or heard what people say about you?" Before she finished her statement, he was already opening the door to enter the car.
"I'm a serial killer. I kill people to make myself wealthy. I'm evil, dark…" he looked at her to see her fierce face. "Do I seem like an evil wicked person?" He asked.
"You don't act like it but from what I know, evil people don't act evil until you get attached. They treat you like an egg, make you like them, make you see them as the only good person in the world, then they start being manipulative, eating you up slowly and before you realize that they are actually evil…everything about you is gone and…" she played dead. "...your funeral. I know your plan," she pointed her finger at Logan.
However, her statement hit him really harshly. What she explained happened to his father. He didn't respond to her and just started the car.
"Direct me to the salon," he said as he drove out of the building. When he returned from dropping her off, he planned to fix the bulbs as promised.
The ride to the salon was quiet and it bothered Adalyn because she couldn't tell if she caught him with her statement or she made him angry.
Logan stopped his car in front of the salon and came down to open the door for his wife. He followed her to the entrance of the salon and waved at the ladies in the salon before facing his wife completely.
"Call me when you are ready to come back to me and if you don't, I'll call your friends," he threatened her.
"You don't…"
"I have my ways…" he winked at her. "Now kiss me so your friends would… admire our relationship."
"I don't want to," she looked away.
Since Logan couldn't force a kiss on her lips, he kissed her neck and kissed above her neck up to her cheek. "Have a beautiful day my gorgeous wife. Daddy loves you," he teased her before leaving her at the salon.
Adalyn watched him drive off and so did her friends. She couldn't believe how bold Logan was to kiss her that way in front of her friends and the customers in the salon. She was stunned and maybe…pink.
After he drove off completely she heard her friends and felt them covering her body. "Hmmmm, Adalyn!"
Adalyn feared that they finally knew her husband was the demon everyone knew but they were teasing her. "Daddy loves you," Joy mimicked Logan's words and expression.
"Is that the man you are complaining about?" Yasmin asked.
Adalyn couldn't speak. She was surprised that Logan's identity wasn't known in this town too. Was that the reason he brought both of them here?
"Girl, this man is so handsome and the way he kissed you… if he isn't yours I don't mind wooing and throwing myself to him," one of the customers commented.
Adalyn continued to fake chuckle. She had never admired Logan or seen how handsome he was, not that she realized it now but everyone around her couldn't stop talking about him and how romantic, rich and sexy he was.
Was Logan really all that they said? She thought about the kiss on her neck to her cheek. It made her heart tingle.
Is he succeeding in getting her attached so he could eventually make her lose herself? Adalyn was confused and she hated it.
Everyone around her was wishing they were the one he kissed and talked to that way, making her feel like she was taking her time with Logan for granted.
"I want him," another customer said.
"Unfortunately, he's mine so you can't have him," Adalyn finally spoke.
"Ohh, look at her claiming her man," her friends pulled her legs even more.
