Chapter 6 - Creation of mood death

With Luke on his little trip, Fabro had to find a temporal replacement for the bartender position, or not. The younger of the twins took over and she was really good at the Job. She didn't know about alcohol as much as Luke but she still did the job very well. While the older took over the cooking and waitressing, it was a busy day for them.

Fabro on the other hand was locked in his alchemy room. A lab as it was called In the world of memories, yeah that what he calls it now. The lab was filled with a lot of glassware and other equipment like thermometers, not that he need them, he can tell the temperature of an object simply by touching it but feels good to have it.

The shelves were filled with roots, leaves, fruits, grass, animal parts and a lot of other raw materials. There were also pills, small glass bottles filled with potions as well paste looking medicine, infact the was even a packet labels nutritional supplement porridge.

He was trying to experiment by recreating the moon death. Although he had the chemical recipe from his late grandfather may his soul rest in peace, he had never made the poison nor the antidote before.

He had all the ingredients for the moon death. Fang of a silver wolf, roots of the moon peaking tree, a short tree barely 30cm tall. It peaks at night to absorb the energy of the moon and hide underground during the day.

While it leaves and to an extent stem of the tree is a beneficial panacea, the root are extremely poisonous. When the tree absorbs moon essence,it seperate it into two kinds of energy , the cooler nurturing essence is absorbed by the leaves and stem while the piercing cold essence is directed to the roots.

By themselves the roots are already a deadly poisonous but they are easy to neutralize with either sun or fire imbued natural treasures or medicine. He also has the myriad poison grass. On it own it was useless, it could at most make a mortal have a bad stomachache but if you mix it with other poisons, it enhances their effect significantly.

Those three were the only ingredients he needed. His grandfathers book of potions described how to make this poison. He has the exact ratio and well as order to mix them. According to the book, he had to mix silver wolf Fang powder to root of Moon peaking tree to myriad poison grass by a ratio of 2:5:1 respectively.

He started by crushing the wolf fang into fine powder, although the fang of a grade 4( equal to grandmaster) beast is harder than any mortal metal, crushing the fang of a dead creature was easy. Afterwards he had to extract the cold moon essence from the root.

Normally the Alchemist of this world would use old shit like couldrons but he realised when he was younger how wasteful and inefficient they are. For really powerful Alchemist, the difference isn't much but for those you aren't as skilled the difference is huge. Of course if the powerful ones like his great self used this material, their results would be even better.

Couldrons are much too dependent on ones personal power. While this type of equipment weren't that dependent, they also had limit of course but they could allow a much weaker and less skilled Alchemist to achieve the same efficiency as a much more powerful one using a couldron.

He placed a flask on top of a burner and heat it. It is fortunate that he had memories from that life. It appears he was something of an Alchemist there as well. The burner was of course different from the ones in his memories.

It was made from a heaven grade metal, enchanted by heaven grade fire runes and had a mana crystal from from a rank 4 beast. The heat from it could reach the heat of the sun itself. The flask on top of it was covered in barely visible golden runes. The runes were energy transference runes.

The directed heat into the flask while insuring the flask itself does not heat up beyond a certain level. Even if a volcano was inside the flask, it would still only remain warm, never getting too hot, almost all of the heat energy is directed towards whatever is inside with barely any wasted.

He put the root inside the flask and waited. The burner burnt so hot the flames were turning into plasma, the the root did not evaporate, it was releasing bluish silver light that radiated cold. After about an hour a bit of bluish silver liquid came out of the root like sweat.

The process was slow but steady. In about 4 hours the root was a husk, flakes of it floated out of the flask leaving the pure moon essence inside. He picked up the flask and weighed it, there was about 54 millilitres of the essence inside.

He then did the same thing with the myriad poison grass. It did not take as long to seperate the poison from the grass, within an hour he a liquid that looks like it was made from a rainbow. It was really beautiful. They were right when they said beware the beautiful ones.

Now all that was left was to mix them in the correct ratio. It was not hard per se but unfortunately he did not have an accurate scale, although he could measure weight using his hands, there's bound to be a margin of era, although in most cases that would be negligible, when making poison, a millilitres extra could be disastrous.

It was a delicate process but eventually he was able to get what he believed are the measurements with the least margin of era. He sat down sweat dropping off his face which is strange for someone at the heavenly grade which is equal to grandmaster level.

He started the mixing process. He took 4 grams of wolf fang powder and poured it into a flask. Next he poured 10millilitres of moon essence, he placed the flask on the burner, he watched as the mixture boiled, wolf fang powder dissolving and mixing with the cold moon essence. After about 2 hours they had completely mixed with one another becoming a new compound.

It was already moon death technically but it was weak, too weak infact, smelled like a wet dog and was blackish silver but still moon essence. It was incomplete of course. Next he poured myriad poison essence into the mixture and heat it up again.

Within 40 min a new poison was infront of him, it was colourless and had no odor. This was another use of the myriad poison grass, it removed smell from poison, sometimes makes it smell really good but it always removes colour, making it colourless and very hard to detect, apparently it also removes taste, although his body is technically a weapon, poison is still effective on him to an extent, might not kill him but still super unpleasant so he would not be testing the taste thing today, no sir.

Done, he said with a smile and heard the notification." New poison created, wood laws increased slightly" he grinned, that more like it. He still had a few potions in the book he had yet to create.
