Chapter 6 - THE FULL MOON

Sungmin's POV

We took her to Ji-ah's house and chained her aggressively, waiting for the full moon. "Those traitors have got her!" I heard his voice in my head.

"I think he is aware now," I said to the others.

"Yula, you need to get into his head. The full moon will be here soon. We have to know his next move before we can destroy his hold on my father," my mate said.

"How do I do that? You know I have no strength. What if I get caught trying to get into his head?" Yula argued.

"I will accompany you!" I said.

"He would mess with your head if you do. He already has partial access to your mind," Jiah said.

"I have an idea," she said, pausing for a minute as she stared into our eyes to read our expressions." Wooyung!" she said again, leaving us pondering for a second—calculating our heads. "Though he is not from our pack, we can still talk to him and see if he could be of help," she added, trying to convince us.

"We only have 2 hours to go…" Jiah said, already anxious. "But Wooyung's father is a friend of Beta Guyong."

"I don't think so. They are enemies. Guyong once fucked his mate during the last full moon of one of the previous quarters!" I added, running my fingers in the air, trying to remember the exact quarter it happened.

"That bastard!" Yula spat fiercely. Then Jiah sped out of our sight and suddenly sped back like a flash. "I can't access their territory. It's all blocked!" She said feeling nervous.

"Sungmin, can you take me in?" I held her hand, and we both disappeared. We saw Wooyung fucking a human in his territory; he was aggressively tearing his way in between her lap as she gripped him firmly to herself. I found my d*ck rising. A small smile curled at the back of my lip as Jiah looked at me.

"We can't do that here, you know," her tone was not romantic at all.

With her crushing speed, she rushed into the room, and Wooyung caught her neck in his hands mid-motion.

"I did not come for war!" she forced her speech, struggling to catch her breath. My anger raged at the sight of this.

"Your mate is here with you!" he said with certainty, sniffing out my presence.

I nodded, signaling her to say yes. And she did.

"If not for that, I would have ripped your ass as I am doing with hers," he said, fucking her aggressively. Then he shoved her to the ground, leaving marks from his sharp claws on her skin. She took to her heel immediately, looking oppressed. He thrust her violently to the ground and she sustained minor injuries. I rushed from where I hid to help her up. My eyes met his, but I quickly took my gaze off, avoiding his anger.

"We need your help," Jiah said, panting.

Yula, on the other hand, was struggling to get into his head. She was sweating profusely.

"This is so difficult," she mind-linked me.

"Keep trying. Something tells me he would be a hard nut," I said in the mind-link.

"Have you ever thought about why they needed you so much in their pack?… because they want to keep using you!" Guyong was mind-linking me now.

"We need to get into his head. He's held my dad captive. And that's why we need your help."

"I can't!" He blurted out without hesitation. "Your mate's father is a friend to my worst enemy. Or have you come here to hand me over to Guyong?" he said, facing me. I was almost peeing in my pants. He saw the fear on my face.

"Please!" Jiah was hell-bent on doing this.

"But how is that true?" I asked in the mind-link with Jiah.

"Don't you know that your father is a traitor!" she replied. Then I suddenly got disconnected from mind-linking her.

"What the fuck!" I said in the mind-link, but she didn't get it! Guyong had done that.

"Get my wolf out, and I will make you an Alpha," Guyong mind-linked me.

"Fuck off you bastard!" I replied in the mind-link. The angry expression came heavily on my face.

"Oh, you want to fight me?… bring it on!" Wooyung said, growling loudly, his human nails transforming into claws. And before we knew what happened, his pack had surrounded the place.

"Like we said, we didn't come here for war!" Jiah said hopelessly. I noticed how she struggled to mind-link me, but she was blocked from mind-linking me. As we struggled to get a hold of each other's hands, Wooyung swiped his claws at me, the sharp tips slicing through the air, but he missed it! Again, he slashed, his claws grazing past me as I moved away, not knowing where the skill had come from, the sound of tearing air echoed around me.

"Jiah! Hold my hands," I voiced into the tense air. He let out another growl of frustration, striking once more. This time around, he almost ripped out my eyes, but thank goodness it was only a minor scratch beside my eyes. His pack wolves were just about to barge in and join the fight when Jiah accidentally grabbed my hands, and we disappeared instantly, landing like a catapulted rocket in front of Yula. Breathing heavily like animals chased by lions. Her mouth dropped in surprise. We had bruises and cuts all over.

"It's obvious it didn't go well! Thank goodness you both came out alive," she said, fetching a glass of water and handing it over to us.

"How many hours do we have left?" Jiah managed to ask.

"45 minutes!" Yula responded after glancing at her watch. We entered the room where we chained the intruder wolf. She was fast asleep.

"I think this is the best time for us to connect with her," Yula said, and we all held hands, and closed our eyes. Pain ran through our veins like we were being electrocuted. The wolf from Guyong's pack woke up from the pain that electrified her veins. Our aggressive growling filled the air—Jiah's claws slowly revealed themselves, and her skin grew harder and darker, revealing her wolf look. Her eyes transformed into wolf-like eyes, the silver color got darker, mine was grey, and Yula's blue. The other wolf had brown eyes. She kept growling, struggling to disrupt the connection, but it was too strong for her to oppose.

We heard Guyong, letting out a frustrated howl after we had gotten into his head, his body pushing out angry black hairs. He was transforming into a terrifying beast. His pack members soon surrounded him, making angry sounds. And then, she appeared in front of me from nowhere. I was already falling out.

"Stay with us, Sungmin," Jiah yelled at me inside the connection. I was trembling uncontrollably. I couldn't help it. I saw Nara slamming me against the wall. The air gradually became calm—we had all disconnected.

"She was here!" Jiah said.

"How did she—?" Yula asked.

"Something tells me it's because we connected with her. We shouldn't be connecting with someone who isn't in our clan," I said, forcing my breath.

"That's true!" Yula affirmed.

"You need to go to your father!…" Jiah said, as I felt Nara trying to manipulate my head. I struggled within myself.

"What's happening?" Jiah asked Yula. I realized I was struggling to transform, but I couldn't. It was just 5 minutes before the full moon.

"Can you connect with Hayan and let her help?" Jiah asked furiously.

"Okay, let me try!" Yula responded, demonstrating with her hands as she tried to connect with Hayan.

We had 4 minutes until the full moon. I kept groaning—the pain was excruciating.

"I can't do this anymore!" I said aloud.

Yula, trying to connect with Hayan, slumped and fell asleep. Flashes of the future played in her head. She caught a glimpse of when I carried my traveling bag heading for the train, another obscure flash of when she tried to talk me into staying back with the clan.

It was 3 minutes to the full moon. The confusion around Jiah was indescribable. Soon, she connected with me and fought Nara in the connection.

I sensed the wolf from Guyong's pack trying to pick up the bunch of keys that fell from Jiah's pocket—the keys were two steps away from her. Nara beat the hell out of Jiah, leaving heavy cuts on her. Jiah only did minor damage to her flesh, but she had major cuts.

It was just a minute before the full moon, and Yula suddenly got up from her sleep—she was able to connect with Hayan.

"Take this. Spread it around his territory. It will prevent him from crossing to drain your father's blood during the full moon. Hurry, you have just 20 seconds to go!" she said, and then she was gone.

Yula glanced at her watch while Jiah grabbed the powder substance. Like a flash, she moved to his territory, pouring the substance around it.

"9 seconds," Yula mind-linked her.

"I smell his fury. Hurry and leave!" I said, mind-linking her.

"3 seconds!" Yula said. The full moon was almost out.

"1 second!" A tear hung in Yula's eyes as well as mine.

The moon is out! And Jiah hasn't returned.

A bloody tear ran down my cheek. I swallowed hard, trying to endure the pain. And then we heard the howling of wolves from different packs—except us.
