Jiah's POV
I was about to eat when I got that sharp pain in my tummy again. Something must be wrong with Sungmin. I hope his father didn't hurt him, I thought to myself as Yula laid me on the bed.
"Get some rest and stop overthinking," she said as she covered me from my feet up to my waist with a duvet.
"But how do you expect me to sleep when you can't have some sleep?"
"I will," she said almost immediately. "I can not force sleep on myself, for me to dream about the future then it has to happen naturally. You know that right?"
Nara's POV
I didn't know that Sungmin had engaged in a discussion with his father earlier. When I got to their house, I pretended to be broken.
"Dad!" I cried profusely, reporting Sungmin's disgusting behavior to his father. I tried to shake off the embarrassment from earlier at the office, but I couldn't.
"Why the tears, my love?"
"Sungmin has been ignoring me ever since that low-life commoner showed up at our engagement party," I said, realizing that he didn't understand who I was talking about. "That Jiah girl," I added. Kangdae wasn't surprised—he knew what his son could do. He promised me he would handle the issue. He drew closer to me and said, "He asked a funny question today. Have you noticed him around any wolf lately?" he asked curiously.
I nodded in response, drawing closer to his ear. "That Jiah girl must have been involved in this," I said confidently. We ran our minds together, planning our next move.
Yula's POV
I watched Sungmin as he grasped the handle of his rolling suitcase, the wheels clicking on the ground as he walked down the road. Then he entered a long train that was traveling to another city. I perceived frustration in the air around him.
"I can't do this anymore!" he complained to himself, not knowing that I mind-linked him from the distance he stood. He suddenly sighted me—I didn't know how—and then he alighted, walking towards me.
"What are you doing here?" he asked me, but he didn't wait for my response when he added,
"I don't think I can be a part of this pack thing. And besides, I plan to find my mother myself. After that, I am done!"
"But you can't leave the company, you know that, right?" I said, trying to change his mind.
"What company? The company that belongs to a fucking bastard? The one who can not look into my eyes and call me his son?" I sighed heavily.
"You do not know the repercussions of what you are about to do!" I said, and he grabbed me by my neck, sniffing the smell of my neck. His eyes turned grey. I struggled to catch my breath as I was almost knocked out. I hit his hand with the tiny strength that was left in me, trying to get them off my throat before I collapsed.
"Strangle her right now!" I perceived Guyong mind-linking him, and immediately he released me from the air and I fell to the ground, gasping for air.
"What the fuck! Guyong could mind-link him?" I asked in the mind-link with Jiah.
"Are you serious?" she responded, but I didn't have the strength to reply.
"Please don't go," I said in between coughs.
And before I knew what was happening, my body was fading like dust, blown away by the wind. I found Jiah sitting on the floor next to me, but she was deeply asleep. She must have been waiting to see me get up from my sleep before she fell asleep. I didn't sleep again—I couldn't. I only sleep when my spirit needs to drift into the future. I looked to my side and saw a book—it read "Tomorrow Is Not Yours." I closed it immediately and threw it against the wall in Jiah's room. How had the book gotten here in the first place? Was she the one who read it before falling asleep?
Sungmin's POV
"My father didn't say much; he only told me that he was paying Nara's father a favor."
"That's a fat lie!" Yula yelled.
"Guys, let's calm down," Jiah said. "But how did he mind-link you in the future?"
"He did?"
"Yes, he did. Is your father a wolf?" Jiah questioned me like I was a baby.
"How was I supposed to know when I do not even know that I am an omega?"
"Okay, let us talk about how we would get my father out of Guyong's hands. We are two days gone!"
"That can only be done if any of us can get into his head. Or suppress him, then we could break the bond he had with my father that made him manipulate him."
"We have to invade his territory!" Jiah said. She didn't know that she still looked beautiful even with the situation of things around her at the moment. Even if I was a new clan member and I now have responsibilities attached, I still lust after Jiah.
"Can we fuck?" I had been trying to mind-link. I did not know that Jiah heard me even if I just tested my ability.
"Who are you talking to?" she asked openly, switching her eyes between Yula and me.
"Oh! She heard that," I said in my heart. And they both ignored my distractions and went on with the plans. I perceived something. A wolf from another pack spied on us.
"Can sense her too!" Yula said, mind-linking us.
"Hey guys, let's communicate here so that she doesn't hear us!" Jiah said in the mind-link.
"But I can't do that for too long," I argued in the mind-link.
"When is the next full moon?" Jiah asked curiously. Her eyes switch colors again but suddenly go off; she seems to be in pain.
"She's too strong! I am trying to get into her head," Jiah said in the mind-link, and then the unseen wolf raked her face with her claws. It was obvious on her face—the long mark, but she felt no pain because I didn't hear her scream, the mark just appeared suddenly, she didn't feel it until I told her there was a long tear on her face.
I also noticed Yula trying to meddle in the head of the unseen wolf, but she ended up having a bleeding mouth. That wolf must be from an enemy's pack.
It was my first time seeing Jiah move with such strength and speed that she caught a young lady in her hand and lifted her by her neck. She growled at her and I saw her eyes turning silver again. That was one beautiful part of her personality that I admired so much.
She threw her aggressively against a concrete pole that stood erect in a lonely way; with just a single jump, she was already ripping her chest apart with her sharp claws. I was stunned! A smile curled behind my mouth. I did not want to look like a joker in-between a serious issue.
The wolf that Jiah defeatedly held was on the ground when Yula walked closer.
"She was sent by Guyong!" Yula said after forcefully getting into her head. "Her mission was to stop our plans to avert the future!" she added.
"Huh!" I said, shockingly.
"They plan to get Sungmin."
What the fuck! To get me? Now I know what I was into.
"We can use her to get Guyong and destroy his manipulation of Donghan," Yula said between heavy breaths.
