Chapter 20 - CHAPTER NINETEEN

"We're getting tired of waiting, Felicia." That's all she heard Angely complain about. She only glanced at it and didn't answer.

She didn't get Ashley's soul because it would be the way for them to escape the world Leah created.

I will do everything to be free from here; I don't want my soul to rot in this place! She could only say it in her mind.

Tsk.

Felicia saw Leah again, looking at them. She was surprised to see Ashley with her. Ashley's body is not dead yet, but it can travel, and the child can be released now.

"Are you going to lock up that child too?" Felicia couldn't help but ask as she looked at Leah.

Leah smiled at her mockingly. "As I told you, I won't involve those who have nothing to do with this." She added.

"Ashley, let us go; we will help your mommy. Something happened to you, didn't it? We will help her." Angely starts persuading the child.

"Do you know my mom?" she simply asked.

Angely just nodded to win the child's favor."

How did you know my mom?" The little Ashley asked back at Angely.

"Ah, your grandmother always used to tell stories about it. We were close friends, your grandma and I; that's how we met your mom, Sharlene." Angely explained it to the child.

She just let Angely speak now; she believes the child in front of them will believe her.

The child approached them.

This is the opportunity.

Leah suddenly pulled the child closer and hid it behind her. Leah looked at her then, and they raised their eyebrows; she didn't say a word.

"Ashley, you don't belong here; you need to come back to your body." Felicia heard Leah say to the child.

"Grandma called me here; she said I should bring Mom." Ashley is observing her.

"Ashley, I just miss your mom, and I just want to talk to her right now," she said.

"Grandma, it's bad to lie." That's all she heard from the child.

Felicia even heard Leah laugh at what the child said. She even chuckled while looking at them.

"Look at that, a child is the one telling you that lying is bad." It even said, mockingly, to her.

"Hold my hand, Ashley." She said, and she spread her hand to their cell.

"You will know whether I am lying or not." She reached out her hand then.

Leah was observing what the child would do.

"Come here." Felicia urged Ashley to let her hold her.

Little by little, Ashley reached out her little hand to Felicia; she smiled, but she only held the child for a few seconds.

"I swear you won't be able to get out of here, Ashley. Bring your mother here; if you don't obey me, you will stay here in this darkness." She smirked while saying that curse.

The wind blew strongly; the words of a soul have the power to affect souls that have not yet fully become souls.

Leah imprisoned it before her curse could take effect, knowing that Ashley's soul would never easily escape from this place.

Felicia smirked at Leah then. "What did you say about those who have nothing to do with this not getting involved, Leah?" she asked her.

Leah looked at her seriously; the anger she had caused was evident, and they just stared at each other.

"You know, you're really good at doing this thing, Felicia." Leah shook her head in disbelief.

"Did you think I would just stay silent here? I will return to you the karma you did to me." She exclaimed while looking intently at Leah and smirking.

"Karma? Is it ethical to use an innocent child to achieve your goals?" Leah even laughed at her while shaking her head.

"That child will serve as the way for Sharlene to get here." Felicia said that back then.

She knew that when Sharlene was young, she already had the ability to travel and see visions, but she just suppressed her ability; even though she wasn't her blood relative, she had a unique ability.

Felicia wanted to bring her two real grandchildren here, but she knew nothing would happen because people like them were not interested in helping her situation. She is clinging to Sharlene because she knows she can easily manipulate her. Felicia is glad Ashley is here now, but Leah has imprisoned the child, unlike them; they are suffering.

"You really want to play, don't you?" Leah asked her with a smile.

"Do you really want your loved ones to get involved? Well, let's see what happens, Felicia." Leah replied.

Felicia saw that the child's soul fainted because of what happened.

"Sharlene will accuse you; I understand her mindset and how she will raise that child." Felicia warns Leah.

It did not speak to her. But the smile that appeared on its lips was chilling. Felicia felt her body slowly separating, a sharp pain coursing through her, and she noticed she was being pulled back into the past.

Felicia saw it when she was still young and strong, while raising Sharlene; there are pictures that she sees.

"Fix that! You fool—fool!" she shouted at the young Sharlene, who was cleaning the house. Sharlene was petrified of her and wouldn't look her in the eye.

Felicia punished young Sharlene, tied her up, and even smoked her out because she loved to hurt a child who was not even her blood; she was lost in her higher thoughts.

She noticed that she was in a sack, and she felt the hot fire brushing against her skin; the fire was gradually intensifying, and it seemed she was getting burned now.

"Leah, let me go here!" Felicia exclaimed loudly. Felicia raised her voice to a high pitch.

Felicia knew that Leah was the one doing this now; she wanted to escape because her whole body was burning, even though her body was just a soul now; she still felt pain. She wasn't alone in begging; the three in the room with her were also pleading to escape.

"I will return the pain we are feeling now, Leah! I will return the pain we are feeling now, Leah! I will return it to you!" She shouted loudly.

Leah suddenly appeared in front of her, smiling; she could clearly see the unblemished pity in her eyes.

"I will gladly accept it, Felicia. We will play whatever you want to do. I'm very excited." Leah said it and laughed as if there were no tomorrow.

"What do you want to play?" she asked while sitting on her throne.

"I'm sorry, does it hurt?" She heard Leah ask them sarcastic questions.

Felicia was out of breath, her burnt skin still painful. She shot a dirty look at Leah; Leah didn't back down and just smiled at her.

"I will wholeheartedly welcome Sharlene when she visits my humble palace." That's all she heard from Leah.

"You still don't know how to use your abilities as a soul, Felicia." Leah whispered to her. "Don't worry; you will see and understand what I'm saying in due time."

It immediately moved away from her.

"Leah!" That's the only scream she heard from Angely; she was naked and had worms on her body. "Remove it!" Demanded Angely.

"Oh no, I'm also afraid of worms; just have your husband remove it." Leah jokes with Angely as the worms swarm her body.

Leah was laughing as she disappeared from their sight. Ashley was sound asleep at that time. She clenched her hand and was trembling with the anger she felt.
