Chapter 11 - To The Hero Headquarters

"Thanks," Ice, who had woken up on their way to the heroes' association headquarters, stopped Silas and Luke from it and directed the both of them to her house to relax instead.

Silas helped her to her room upstairs in the small white house, while Luke watched the girl who they had tied up in the living room, so Ice thanked Silas for all he did for her today.

He dropped her on the bed, stepping back to sit on the chair she had placed by a desk a few steps away. Her room was neat and plain, with a few framed pictures hung on the wall.

He turned to her mirror and wardrobe with a makeup kit arranged by the far end of her bed, then returned his gaze to Ice's tired expression, "I am sorry for being a burden to you."

"We will have to leave soon, since it'll be daytime soon and we won't survive if we were caught in that place," Silas frowned, recalling that some heroes are actively hunting his life.

Ice groaned, sitting up and taking off her jacket. Silas stared at her as she dropped the jacket by the side of her bed, raising a brow seeing how revealing her dress underneath was.

"You have beautiful skin," Silas praised, lifting his glance from her body to Ice's flushed face, then he cleared his throat, "By the way, I heard some other guys are after our target."

Ice's expression turned serious all of a sudden, and her eyes burned with curiosity. With Ice staring at him so intensely, Silas sighed, "I heard it from Persus. It was some resistance."

"They are the factions of villains who united against the hero association," Ice explained after Silas gave her a confused eyebrow raise, "The two groups have been at war for years."

She dragged herself to the side of the bed, throwing her legs down. The second she tried to stand up, a wave of dizziness hit Ice and she staggered back, falling into the bed in shock.

"You are still out from overextending your power," Silas noticed, then he stood up to his feet, putting his hands into his pockets, "I'm changing out of these clothes then getting out."

"Be careful, they have multiple A-Rank Villains." Ice warned Silas, her chest heaving as she struggled to find her breath. She grabbed her chest, then sighed, "It will get very ugly."

"Once it gets unbearable, we'll retreat." Silas assured her, but he had little intentions of letting such a beautiful item fall into anyone hands' but his. A cold light flashed in his eyes.

——

Silas walked with both hands in the pockets of his suit, his ruffled hair fluttering in the wind as he looked from left to right, then he smirked, "This place reeks of super activities,"

Luke nodded his head in agreement. He noticed that they were remnants of some battle leftover across the road, maybe too early to be covered up by the hero association janitors.

Janitors were the heroes with superpowers that allowed them to repair destruction of properties during a battle of super heroes. Seeing the state of the street, no one came here.

There were webbed craters scattered across the grounds, chunks of rocks torn out of a few buildings and blood splattered across the ground. Neither Silas or Luke noticed a body.

"Tell me, Lord. Why did you tell that girl live?" Luke asked Silas, walking faster to keep up with his speed. When Silas stared out the corner of his eyes, Luke looked really troubled.

"Her father Persus, has a lot of secrets, connections, and materials." Silas slowed down, allowing Luke to catch up with him, "I want to use her to get information from her father."

"But, he's already head, isn't he?" Luke turned to stare at Silas, wide-eyed. He saw the man blow himself up with his eyes, there was no way Persus survived something like that.

"Did you not notice how the girl never tried to escape even when I left you alone with her?" Silas squinted his eyes, then stretched out his right hand, "He must have a tracker."

The area around his hand glitched, then Silas quickly withdrew that had, "Knowing he hid a tracker inside her, she is acting submissive while waiting for Persus to come get her."

|Keyboard Warrior_76— Some other weird ass illusion.

|Kitchen.Soup— It looks like a hidden trap.

'They have a point.' Silas thought to himself, but this was too obvious it was an illusion. Silas took in a deep breath and held it, dipping his head in the area, then he exhaled loudly.

He looked around. Behind the thin sheet of an illusion was a whole other area, with the area full of people and buildings. After he saw some guy on guard, Silas withdrew his head.

"It's a screen showing a fake destination," Silas said as he stared at the illusion showing some buildings scattered into the distance, then he turned to Luke, "There's a guard there."

"How do we deal with it?" Luke asked, eager to hear what Silas had in mind to handle this situation. His eyes shone with excitement as Silas opened his mouth before shutting it.

"That's the neat part," Silas remembered the weirdos who were supposedly coming for the core as well, then he snapped his fingers, "We are not going to be dealing with anyone."

Luke raised a brow, then his eyes exploded in a revering light. He threw his hands in the air, waving them like a fanatic, "My Lord is so strong! He doesn't even need to lift a finger!"

|NotFromOhayo— Sure he does.

|ColdSeaSalt— Haha, of course he doesn't.

'Look at these guys,' Silas rolled his eyes. He wanted to join the chat, but there was still a lot he had to settle before he got the time to handle anything else, 'They are so energetic.'

Silas shrugged then dragged Luke to the side, where he calculated to be a blindside for the guard, then they quickly stepped forth, dashing into the shadows of the nearest house.

Just as the guard turned in their direction, his chiselled face gleaming in the low light, his brows raised as the low rumblings of a vehicle was heard approaching from a distance.
