"Shoot him! Kill him!" Persus screamed at the top of his voice, swinging his arms about and creating a tide of water that collapsed upon Silas, only to be frozen right atop his head.
The other soldiers opened fire, causing the massive icicle to collapse on his head. Before it could slam on his head, Silas raised his hand to defend himself, then turned to the guards.
Some staggered back after seeing the murderous intent in his eyes, dropping their guns as they trembled in fear. The rest opened fire on him, lighting up the evening with gunfire.
Silas raised a brow, tilting his head to the side. He vanished then appeared by the side, staring at the young girl at the centre of some men, "Is this what I'm thinking it is, Luke?"
"She was on their side all along," Luke replied, watching as the guards quickly turned in his direction with their guns. Before they could open fire, Silas slammed his fist to the floor.
The road beneath them cracked to pieces, then caved in. All the men lost their footing as they fell into the deep hole while Luke and Silas stood, glaring down at them with cold eyes.
"I guess she didn't forget that there was an illusion, after all." Silas laughed, then shook his head, returning to his emotionless expression, "I needed the skill but what use are you?"
At the next instance, he'd torn through all the guards to grab Selena by the neck, giving her a calm glare as she gasped for breath, "Give me one reason I shouldn't snap your neck."
"Leave her alone! She's my child!" Persus screamed at the top of his lungs, crawling to his feet and rushing towards Silas, forming two balls of water in both hands, "I'll kill you!"
"Can you?" Silas asked, glaring at Persus out the corner of his eyes. He turned to Selena and grinned, putting one hand in his pockets, "I'll let you choose. Your life or your father's?"
Persus hurled the two water balls at Silas the second he closed the range between them, then retreated to the side. He watched as the balls crashed into the concrete by Silas' sides.
Then, they exploded. The two balls blew up in a huge cloud of steam, emitting a sizzling sound as the smell of dew filled the air. Persus searched for them, his pupils darting around.
"This fight extended for far too long," Silas appeared behind Silas, but his hands were in his pockets. As Persus spun around to strike, swinging another water ball, Silas raised a leg.
Before he could land his hit, both Persus and his water ball were kicked into the air, the sound of bones shattering loud. As Persus' body hurtled in the air, the water ball exploded.
Silas watched as a body fell to the ground— a steaming, lifeless pulp. His blue hair had earned a shade of white, and his blood rained on the concrete in a circle around his body.
Persus' daughter on the other hand lay unconscious in the crater left where those two water balls exploded. Selena's skin was reddish and her nostrils flaring from the high heat.
"I hoped he'd kill her with those, but she's more durable than I thought." Silas frowned, turning around to see the other guys turning to run, but Luke took up a gun to shoot them.
Their pained cries fell on deaf ears as Luke unloaded the gun on the group, making sure that no one left that place alive. Once all the men were dead, he threw the gun to the floor.
"We should take the girl with us," Silas advised, staring at Persus' body then turned to face the building. In an instance he appeared by the building, relaxing his palm on the wall.
"Disintegrate." As those words fell, the entire building's walls came cracked up, then all parts of the mansion — from the roof to walls — crumbled to dust as he withdrew his hand.
"No, we should kill her." Luke said, glaring at the young girl laying on the ground with a hateful expression on his face. The betrayal he got from her left a bitter taste in his mouth.
Silas grabbed the girl, tossing her over his shoulder. He understood how Luke felt since he had been betrayed many times in the past, by his friends and family but he never cared.
'Allies are worthless if they have no uses, and whatever you think of others make less of it when they think that of you.' Silas, who was all alone, recalled these words over and over.
If he can discard others for being worthless, then he is prepared for the same. He had to make use of anything he could to achieve his goals, whether 'friend' or 'foe'. That is his way.
"Why didn't we take the guns before you destroyed the building?" Luke turned his gaze from the girl, raising his brow as he stared at the remnants of Persus' mansion, "thorough."
"Indeed," Silas nodded, walking up to Ice and turning to Luke who stood staring at the pile of dust like it was the best thing he'd ever seen, "You take the girl, we are done here."
Luke sighed, turning around to take the young girl from Silas. He looked around, "but, what about the other members of this clan? We must go save everyone before it's too late."
"We need to hurry to Ice's 'stuff', this guy had told me a lot." Silas said, picking up the barely conscious Ice in a princess carry, then looking from left to right, "Where do we go?"
"It'll take a wail if we're carrying loads," Luke complained, stepping forward and over the dead bodies. He turned to the right, then he walked in that direction as Silas followed.
Once they were already gone, water molecules gathered in the air around Persus' body, and as the burn marks in his body shrank, his body absorbed them then his finger twitched.
