Chapter 14 - Monster In Human Skin

"You face seems familiar," Lilia squinted her eyes, then her brows jumped. She let go of his hands, walking back and placing one hand on her hip, "You are that new villain, right?"

Silas rubbed his wrist, shocked by her strength. He lifted his gaze to meet hers, "How'd you know that? Your face isn't that familiar to me, or were you one of the ones in masks?"

"There's no way you met her in person, you parasite." Tiger frowned, turning his head to face Silas, squeezing his hands tight, "Lilia has never made a public appearance since—"

"So much negative energy." Lilia chuckled, twirling her wine glass. She turned around, letting out a tired yawn, then speaking, "I saw your face from one of our many monitors."

'The glass is still in her hands?' Silas' eyes widened, and nearly popped out of his skull after looking to see the clean floor, 'She had moved that fast without spilling a single drop!'

Silas blinked, and he staggered back in confusion, his heart racing in his chest. He stood in a vast white space, wit Lilia standing before him with her back turned, "Where are we?"

"There are four classes of super powers," Lilia explained, holding a glass with one hand and stretching out the other, spinning around to unleash a sweet smile at the alerted Silas,

"Self affliction that only affects the body, physical touch that is a short range contact, projectiles that can be propagated through a medium, and area that affects a vast space."

"Interesting knowledge." Silas nodded his head, looking from left to right. In this 'vast space', he could feel the 'weight' of his body as he made movement, "Why am I hearing it?"

"The method of testing latent energy by using fragments is not absolute," Lilia dropped her hand, "to truly become S-Rank, you must've mastered all four aspects of your abilities."

"For all of them?" Silas raised a brow, shrugging to himself. He took in a deep breath as he gathered energy in his limbs, then Silas exhaled, expelling all that energy in a burst dash.

Lilia giggled, raising a hand and swinging it to the side. Silas, who had his fist flying at her face, was dragged to the side along with all that momentum, tumbling across the floor.

"How long do you think we spent being at the top, competing between ourselves?" Lilia stared down at Silas as he struggled to stand to his feet, "There's no room for complacence."

'Fuck, the difference is huge.' Silas thought that he could go all out and surprise her, but she'd dealt with so many superpowers he guessed that would be too difficult, 'So annoying,'

Silas groaned, grabbing the side of his face. Her eyes, which were laced with delight had turned emotionless as she parted her lips, "This is the highest aspect, mental enslavement."

'Mental Enslavement?' Silas who was about to use Disintegration on this space suddenly froze up, his pupils trembling. She must have used that ability to trap him in his own mind.

"You can never escape from here, unless I release you." Lilia explained, tilting her head to the side and taking a sip from her glass of wine, an emotion finally returning to her eyes.

Silas wasn't good at reading eyes, but Silas was sure that her eyes were telling him to — "Forget about stealing my Arctic Core," but he wasn't going to give up, it was under control.

Tiger stared at the two still bodies, then turned to the turrets. If he made a move now, a low of lives could be lost, so there was no room for errors, "Everyone, I want to use it now!"

The others nodded behind him, and Tiger snapped his fingers. The ground beneath them melted as he placed his hands on the tiles, and it caved in, causing their whole group to fall.

Sheep swung his hands, and formed layers of a thin violet glass beneath them, and as he fell on it along with the others, it floated back up. Tiger patted his chest, breathing heavily.

"One wrong move and the entire group would have died there," Fox reminded them, his hands on his hips as he shook his head, "We should have taken Lilia into consideration too,"

"Their security is getting tighter and tighter every heist, after this I'm returning to the frontier." Sheep added, shaking his head then he turned to Lion who stood quietly, "Sorry,"

"It's not my fault you promised Lion an easy mission," Tiger spoke out loud, stretching out his hands as they reached the melted tile, and some violet glass formed above his head.

The violet glass curved into a crescent then grew into a shield as Sheep manipulated it, and they all rose from within the hole, only to meet the bullets of the turrets firing at them.

Sheep held the shield with one hand, watching as bullets bounced off its slowly cracking surface, then swung his other hand, forming large violet saucers he threw to the six turrets.

They tore through the metal like nothing, lighting up the ceiling in bright red explosions as the group floated to the ground. The second their feet touched the ground, they all froze.

"Who said I forgot about you lot?" Lilia opened one eye, tilting her head to glare at their group, and sighed. In an instant, she appeared right behind Fox, her punch blocked by Tiger.

The shock wave from the punch rocked through his entire body, causing him to puke his blood all over the internals of his mask, then her pupils snapped to the side and she scoffed.

Sheep, who'd aimed ten violet arrows from her blindside, could only blink before Lilia's punch was right in his face, but she stopped right before her blow ripped his head to parts.

"That idiot, he's taking his sweet chance," She remarked, grabbing her face for a second then lowering her hand and shaking her head vehemently, twirling her empty glass of wine.
