Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine: Awakened Shadow vs. Darkness

The battle began with a storm of power and destructive energy.

Lane, in his new dark incarnation, stood staring at Nyx, who stood surrounded by his seemingly invincible shadow aura.

The atmosphere was thick, and the silence that preceded the confrontation carried the sound of the coming explosions.

"Do you see this darkness that embraces you?" said Nix, with a smile that bore irony and anger: "Do you see this darkness you embrace, Lynn? It is not your friend, it is your curse. I will send you back to where you belong... to nothingness."

Len didn't respond.

He stared at Nyx with eyes glowing a deep violet color, while the violet-black sword in his hand pulsed like a living being eager for battle.

With just one step, he lunged at Nyx with unimaginable speed, delivering his first attack.

The power of darkness collided with the power of shadow, a wave of energy exploded, creating cracks in the ground around them.

Each blow was like a storm that shook the place, as Lin and Nyx exchanged attacks in a fight that seemed like it would never end.

Nyx said in a voice full of sarcasm: "That's all you've got? I've faced the Guardians before you, and you'll be nothing more than another addition to the list of losers."

But Lin didn't speak.

He was silent throughout the fight, as if concentrating all of his power into his black-purple sword.

With each attack, Lin's strength visibly increased, and the shadows surrounding Nyx began to show signs of retreat.

Nyx unleashed a huge shadow wave, which looked like it would swallow Lin whole.

But he raised his dark sword and sliced it in half with terrifying skill.

The ground crumbled beneath his feet as he advanced towards Nyx with steady steps, each one carrying an unspeakable threat.

As time passed, the shadows surrounding Nyx gradually began to fade, as if he was losing control of them.

He shouted angrily: "How dare you? This world is mine!"

At a crucial moment, Lin took advantage of Nyx's retreat and unleashed a final attack using all of his strength.

The violet-black sword exploded with devastating energy, hitting Nyx in the center of his human body, causing him to fall to his knees for the first time.

Nyx stood up, barely able to lift his head, and looked at Lin with eyes filled with astonishment and fear.

He said in a halting voice: "What are you...?"

Suddenly, the black mask covering Lin's face began to move as if it were alive.

The huge mouth of a giant black dragon emerged from the mask, and with a tremendous roar, it pounced on Nyx and devoured him completely.

There was nothing left of Nyx, only the echo of his last scream.

As Nyx disappeared, Lin felt a tremendous power sweep through his body.

The darkness that Nyx had carried was now a part of Lin, increasing his power and mystery.

He stood in the center of the completely destroyed arena, his dark aura growing terrifyingly stronger.

Everything was strangely quiet.

A deep darkness surrounded Lin, a void with no boundaries or form.

He felt as if time had stopped, and nothing connected him to reality.

He stood there, in silence, trying to make sense of what had happened, but his mind was muddled.

Suddenly, the silence was pierced by the sound of a child's voice, familiar but mysterious.

The little boy emerged from the void, his features still vague and indistinct, as if they were constantly changing.

His voice was steady but carried a strange weight.

"It's over now," he said. Everything is complete. Wake up, it's time to go back."

Lin tried to speak, but the words got stuck in his throat.

He wanted to ask the boy who he was, and what was going on, but something inside him prevented him from speaking.

The boy stepped forward with steady steps, his eyes fixed on Lin with something he couldn't explain.

The boy said: "Now... come back. Everything is waiting for you."

Suddenly, the boy disappeared as suddenly as he had appeared, and the darkness around Lin turned into a bright beam that jolted him back to reality.

Lin suddenly opened his eyes, his breath coming in quick bursts as if he had just come out of a nightmare.

He looked around, the place that had been filled with darkness and destruction had returned to a strange state of calm.

There were no traces of the battle that had taken place, as if it had never happened.

No cracks in the ground, no shadows surrounding the place.

Everything was normal... suspiciously.

He raised his hand to his face, touching his skin.

The black mask that covered his face was gone, and the purple sword he was holding was no longer there.

He looked down at his hands, feeling the energy still flowing through him, but this time it wasn't connected to the darkness.

It was a new power, pure but immense.

He started to hear a sound behind him.

He slowly turned around to see Falcon, stumbling as he put his hand to his chest because of his injury.

Julia was behind him, trying to get up with difficulty, their looks filled with surprise and confusion.

Falcon said, in a halting voice: "Lynn... "What happened? Where is... Where is the darkness?"

Lin didn't answer right away.

He was still trying to process what had happened.

He looked at them, then at the ground that previously bore the traces of the battle, and said quietly: "It's gone."

Julia approached, leaning on her weapon for extra support, and said, "But... You. You've changed. We feel it. What happened back there?"

Lin didn't have a clear answer.

All he felt was the power that had become a part of him, but it wasn't as terrifying as before.

He felt like he was back to his old self, but with a new power he couldn't explain.

At that moment, the ground began to shake slightly, as if breathing.

Distant light shadows began to gather on the horizon, as if watching from afar.

Lin stared at the horizon and felt something pulsing inside him, a strange but familiar sensation.

He muttered to himself in a barely audible voice: "This is not the end..."

Julia looked at him and said, "Len, whatever happens, we're with you. But... What's next?"

Len was silent for a moment, then looked at the horizon, which was beginning to fog up again.

He took a deep breath, then said in a deep voice: "I don't know the answer yet. But what I do know is that everything has changed... And so have I."

Lin stood in the center of the quiet square, while Julia and Falcon looked on in astonishment and silence.

A strange sense of transformation surrounds him, as if the darkness that had surrounded him has altered his very essence in ways he doesn't yet understand.
