[ Chapter VI (6): "NECROMANCER STRATEGY FOR SURVIVAL IN THE APOCALYPSE" ]
In finding out the Goblins true loyalty, Felix finally felt safe.
As he now lays, flat out on his room's floor not worrying about any monsters, or imminent threats that may, or may not appear to hurt him; so what should he fear?
Preimative green hunters?
Rats the size of a toddler?
Or morbid giant blue birds?
Truly I say to you— the Necromancer fears none of those, hell, he doesn't fear anything, as in the moment he feels like a deity of some sorts with eternal guards that don't die guarding him.
That said guards came in the form of three ever hungry, gluttonous loyal monsters that he is slightly afraid of still now. Even though he found out that they are subservient to him.
[ CACKLE ]
Can you really blame him though? In seeing first-hand, in the front row seats how the three monsters are eating the carcasses of the giant Blue Jay, how can you not be terrified of these?
Felix at the very least knows he's terrified, hell, he would have already ran down out if only he didn't know that the neighborhood he is in is infested with monsters.
Thankfully at the very least, after a week of suffering, after a week of hiding, after a week of being hapless. He finally awakened, or at the very least was granted supernatural powers— at the moment he only knows of giving the dead back their life.
To what extent? He still doesn't know.
But at the very least, they look happy.

[ REANIMATED GOBLIN LVL. 8 ]
[ REANIMATED GOBLIN LVL. 7 ]
Felix momentarily looks at his Goblins feasting on the giant blue bird which is almost eaten before finally laying his head down on the floor, not having the stomach to see the grotesque scene of a bird— which though acted weirdly, even to the extent of wanting to eat him, trying to eat him; still looking like a normal blue bird, except for the enhancement in height, being eaten by "monsters" that he himself have confirmed to be friendly.
Still, he doesn't want to see that.
He ignores the string of text that kept saying that the Goblins are increasing in experience the more they ate, pushing the window to the side, Felix contemplates on what to do next.
He has indestructible monsters as his ally, three of them.
Can eat anything on sight without being full.
Can fight as long as they have too.
Will follow his orders without question.
Eternally loyal to him at the point of ignoring their baser instinct, and that'll be to crave human flesh.
The question is now... What should he do with them?
The world turned game-like, he is stuck in a neighborhood that was once bustling with life, now not having any; with him being lucky enough to last for a week.
Monsters of different quantity, qualities, behaviors, and territories are spiraling all over the city he's in. With most not known to Felix yet.
He became a Necromancer, a class in a game, with him being gifted the ability to wield the dead for his whims and wants.
So he thinks, thinks, and thinks. For a few minutes, before finally realizing what he'll have to do.
[ "That's it." ]
[ "Level-up!" ]
[ "I just need to level-up!" ]
In remembering what the System said, to know more about it he needs to level-up. Which in turn makes his minions— the Goblins, more powerful.
The more they eat, the more they kill, the more they level-up and in turn the more the player— Felix who gifted them with life, levels up; which makes him have more minions (allegedly), which repeats the cycle until eventually it breaks.
So that's the main plan...
How about the side plans?
Does he gather supplies from other houses via his minions, he after all doesn't have food, he'll die, he's starving at the moment.
Does he rescue other survivors, if he eventually meets one or two, or a group via his proxies— the Goblins, because god knows he wouldn't come out.
Not with the whole area being infested with monsters that can kill him with ease at the very least.
What does he do...?
He looked at them for a second, noticing that they had finished their meal, and tried doing something with them using his powers.
The fattest of them all, the Goblin which is practically drenched with both black and red blood, either belonging to him, Felix thought of it jumping out the window abruptly. Though not detailed, the Goblin still jumped.
Felix didn't mouth this command unlike most of the other commands, and suddenly. The Goblin seems to straighten up from its relaxed posture, ready to jump out; but, [ "STOP!" ]
[ "Don't!" ]
Felix imagined the Goblin flying back to where the Goblin is standing, like the command didn't happen at all.
And so that happened.
The Goblin that was ready to jump out the window paused mid-action. Scratching its head, it looked behind it and noticed the worried expression of its master that ordered it to do something, then take it back abruptly, which caused it to be confused...
[ CACKLE ]
[ "Okay, pause. Do-don't jump..." ]
[ "Stay there, okay?" ]
Wiping the sweat from his forehead. Felix confirmed that yes, the Goblins, or anyone who gets Reanimated using his powers will indeed fulfill any and all commands he wants— even if it hurts them, or most likely even if it kills them.
So in realizing this fact, Felix did something that may or may not be the smartest idea he had in years; [ "You, and you." ] He pointed at the moderately bloodied Goblin, and mostly bloodied Goblin.
In seeing themselves get pointed at, they stood up. Weapons ready at hand, and ready to die for their master. [ "Okay, great..." ]
[ "You guys... Go scavenge food... " ]
[ "You know what food is, right?" ]
First of all, to survive the Apocalypse and level-up. Felix needs supplies; both food, and drinking water. Both of which he doesn't have at the moment, causing his body to weaken slightly.
But in seeing the Goblins be confused on what could be considered as 'food', Felix then asked them what they think food is. And without any hesitation they pointed at the pool of blood with slight bits here and there— at where the Giant Blue Jay was, that they ate. Then outside the door— at the rotting Black Rat.
[ "You... Damn it." ]
Food for Goblins is anything organic, uncooked or cooked doesn't matter. Food is food to them.
But to Felix who's human, whose pallet isn't the same as them, sure he needs to be picky— he wouldn't eat rat meat, he'll most probably die if he did so, and worse of it all, he'll die slowly due to the bacteria and diseases that the said rat may have.
And his teeth wouldn't cut through that thick skin, and chew on that hard meat. He isn't a Goblin, his teeth aren't the same as them.
So rat meat is a no-no.
[ "How do I do this...?" ]
[ "Food... Food... Food." ]
[ "N-no, this... isn't food, for me." ]
He noticed the fattest Goblin pointing at the bird's eye that he placed on the table nearby, looking at it rather hungrily. Felix who noticed this signalled for it to have the eye as a snack, even though it was given from him in the first place.
Noticing an empty can of goods nearby, and empty plastic bottles of water. Felix thought of an idea.
[ "Find this... As many as you can." ]
[ "Here..." ]
Handing it over to the confused Goblins, Felix watches them look at it in bewilderment, scanning it even, passing it from Goblin-to-Goblin. Before finally; [ CRUNCH ] the fattest Goblin ate both the metal can, and plastic bottle without care.
Swallowing it in front of the slight terrified Felix, who gulped down his saliva; thankful to the deities that he is considered as someone important to this Goblins, if not... Then.
[ "So, uhh..." ]
[ "You all go search for anything like this throughout the... Uhh- neighborhood. E-eat and kill as many monsters as you find, not-not the humans, protect those." ]
About to get out the door, the Goblins, or at the very least the fattest of them all was stopped mid-step. [ "You, and you... You guys search for food, and eat whatever monster you find." ]
[ "Except you— stay here." ]
Looking disgruntled, the fat Goblin reluctantly stayed back and watched its kin's back with envy. Going down the stairs slowly, as if to make fun of him.
In annoyance it tried following them, but was stopped again, by Felix. But the Goblin even though was ordered by its master, it still didn't stop and instead grabbed the rotting carcass of the Black Rat before ultimately going back inside the room; under the bewildered gaze of Felix.
[ "I... I need a guard..." ]
[ "Sorry..." ]
And because the fatso might eat all the supplies if it gets its dandy hands on it. Which will lead to Felix dying in starvation, that's why he let the fatso Goblin behind.
Sorry, not sorry. Really.
