Chapter 1 - Prologue - The world that feels too much

In a world where systems are reality, survival is more than strength or speed—it's about how well you adapt to the rules.

Fifty years ago, everything changed.

Giant screens appeared in the sky. Glowing symbols etched themselves into people's skin. From that day, every human received a System—a mysterious power granted by something no one fully understood.

Some systems were simple—like cooking skills or speed boosts.

Others were powerful—controlling fire, healing wounds, or bending shadows.

And a few… were dangerous.

The world became divided into zones.

Safe Zones, where people lived and trained.

Chaos Zones, twisted lands full of monsters and corrupted system users.

And the center of it all—the Core, a massive tower no one has ever reached the top of. It's said that the truth of the systems lies there.

Countries collapsed. New cities were built around dungeons and raid towers.

The strongest became Hunters. The rest tried to survive.

And in this world, where systems define everything...

Lee Ji Han was born without one.

At least, that's what people thought.

In truth, Ji Han had a system far more unusual than any other.

One he didn't ask for. One he didn't understand for a long time.

The only system in the world that responded to feelings:

Absorb?

Ji Han was born with the Emotion Absorption System.

He can feel emotions around him—anger, fear, joy, sorrow—like waves in the air. The stronger the emotion, the more it presses on his senses. Sometimes, it hurts. Sometimes, it pulls him down. But when an emotion becomes powerful enough, the system activates.

He doesn't absorb every feeling, only those intense enough to trigger the system. When that happens, Ji Han can choose to absorb it. If he does:

The person feels slightly lighter, like a burden was taken away.

Ji Han gains a temporary ability based on that emotion.

Fear makes him move like a shadow—fast, quiet, impossible to follow.

Anger turns his body into a weapon, overflowing with power.

Sorrow numbs his pain and sharpens his focus.

Hope heals his wounds and steadies his mind.

But it comes with a cost.

Taking in too much at once can overwhelm him. Sometimes he feels emotions that aren't his own—laughs without joy, cries without pain. And when too many feelings crash into him at once, he can lose control.

So Ji Han hides it.

No one knows what his system truly is. Not even the people close to him.

To the world, he's just a quiet, odd boy with no power.

But he knows better.

Because deep inside, his system is still online.

Waiting. Watching.

Preparing him for something far greater.

And somewhere in the depths of the Chaos Zones…

A force is rising. One that doesn't just use the system—

It creates it.
