Chapter 32 - Kael's truth

Kael raised his sword, ready to end Munfa's life.

To him, Munfa was just another part of what he hated—the Light.

But then—

Munfa spoke.

"H-How are you still alive…?"

Kael paused for a moment.

Munfa clutched his stomach, wincing in pain.

"Your whole family… was killed. How did this happen, Kael?"

Silence.

Then, Kael finally spoke.

"I survived."

--

Years ago…

A young Kael ran through the burning streets of Argos City.

Screams filled the air.

His mother held his hand tightly as they ran.

Kael looked up at her, tears in his eyes.

"Mom, why are they attacking us?"

His mother's voice was shaky.

"I don't know, Kael… but stay close. I'll protect you."

Then—

His father fell.

A light army soldier's sword pierced his chest.

"Dad!"

Kael screamed as he watched his father die.

Tears blurred his vision.

His mother pulled him forward.

"We have to run!"

More Light Army soldiers chased them.

"There they are! Get them!" one soldier yelled.

Kael's mother stopped running.

She turned to Kael and smiled.

"Go, Kael. Run."

"No, Mom!"

Before he could stop her, she rushed at the soldiers—

Buying him time to escape.

Kael wiped his tears and ran.

---

But he didn't get far.

Two light soldiers blocked his path.

More landed around him, surrounding him.

"It's over, kid. No more running."

Kael clenched his fists, anger and sorrow boiling inside him.

One soldier suddenly dropped dead—stabbed through the chest.

Kael had killed him.

"Get the kid!" another soldier yelled.

Kael fought back.

But he was too weak.

One soldier kicked him hard, sending him crashing to the ground.

Kael gasped for breath.

"Your family was a disgrace to our world."

The soldier raised his sword.

"This is the end for you."

Kael closed his eyes.

He accepted his fate.

Then—

A shadow loomed over him.

A deadly slash cut down every soldier.

Kael's eyes snapped open.

He turned around—

And saw it.

A towering Susanoo stood behind him.

Its long, sharp claws dripped with blood.

Kael's heart pounded.

The Susanoo looked down at him.

"You have awakened me."

"Now… we will survive. Together."

The Susanoo faded, merging into Kael's body.

Kael ran.

From that day forward, he hid in the shadows—

Killing both Light and Dark soldiers.

---

Back in the present—

Kael looked down at Munfa.

His voice was cold and sharp.

"I have something else to tell you."

Munfa, still holding his wound, looked up.

"I was the one who killed Bin."

Munfa's eyes widened.

"I know you think it was Malakar… but it wasn't."

Kael's eyes burned with hatred.

"The books are wrong. The stories are lies."

Munfa struggled to sit up, but the pain in his stomach was too much.

"Back then, I saw them fight."

"Bin and Malakar… one on one."

Kael clenched his fist.

"I watched carefully… waiting for an opening."

A cruel smirk formed on his face.

"And when I saw it—I struck."

Munfa's breathing grew heavier.

"I stabbed Bin in the back."

Kael's eyes darkened.

"I almost killed Malakar too… but he managed to escape."

Munfa was stunned.

Kael took a step forward.

"Bin was a great, I admit that."

Then his voice turned to a growl.

"A great killer."

Kael's eyes locked onto Munfa.

"And I believe Luz is just like him."

His grip tightened on his sword.

"That's why I will kill him next."

Kael raised his katana—

"And I'll start by finishing you."

He swung down—

Straight at Munfa.
