Chapter 16 - 16 Free First Hexagram

Ginsengfruit drooled at the sight of the big prawn: "This big prawn looks delicious."

Yun Ran peeled the prawns while speaking, "Got it, got it, once we find the materials, I'll start working on your body."

[Hehe, Host, you really get me~]

By afternoon, Yun Ran finally set up her street stall leisurely in the area allowed by the scenic spot.

Just as she finished setting up, Yun Ran played the prerecorded message over the loudspeaker.

"The first three fortune-tellings are free, don't miss out as you pass by."

"The first three fortune-tellings are free, don't miss out as you pass by."

"The first three fortune-tellings are free, don't miss out as you pass by."

...

When the team leader arrived and heard this, his steps faltered a bit. He felt a little greedy because he also wanted a fortune-telling session.

Yun Ran saw people coming and promptly handed over a talisman she had managed to quickly sketch.

After paying, before he could speak, Yun Ran blocked him: "Don't overdo things!"

The team leader immediately understood Yun Ran's meaning; he had already received a pointer from Yun Ran and avoided a calamity, and had bought a peace charm, so he shouldn't ask for more.

It wasn't clear if it was because there were too many people in the scenic area or because of Yun Ran's shouting, but finally it seemed to take effect.

Soon after, two young women approached.

One of them had a clear trace of gloom on her face, while the other was full of exasperation, as if iron had failed to turn into steel.

"I always tell you, but you never listen. Now there's free fortune-telling, so just have a look."

"But I came here today to buy a Concubine Lock; I don't believe in these feudal superstitions."

The exasperated woman rolled her eyes in annoyance: "So, a Concubine Lock isn't a feudal superstition? Spending 100 yuan on a broken lock, and it will make your wishes come true?"

The addressed woman's face immediately showed a hint of hesitation.

Yun Ran watched with a smile as the two argued at her stall, looking as though she was there merely to watch the excitement rather than to tend to her stall.

"Little miss, are your predictions really accurate?"

"If you never ask, how would you know whether my predictions are accurate?"

"So, are the first three fortune-tellings still free?"

Little Fatty, who wasn't far from Yun Ran, had originally slowed down his movements, seeing Yun Ran finally getting some business and deliberately pricked up his ears to listen to the gossip here.

Hearing that someone spent 100 yuan on a Concubine Lock without even blinking, yet looked down on Yun Ran's stall for being a feudal superstition and was now asking if it was still free.

He was somewhat speechless; indeed, sometimes even when it's free, there will still be people picking faults.

He did think about speaking up for Yun Ran, but didn't know what to say, feeling a little anxious.

However, Yun Ran seemed unaffected at all, and nodded: "This free first fortune-telling has not yet been given away."

Thinking that it was free, the hesitant woman eventually sat down.

"I've been having some trouble recently..."

Yun Ran raised her hand to stop her narration: "Observing your appearance, the Red Bird Star is active in you, but it is also shrouded in a tinge of gloom, which suggests that there have been some disturbances in your marriage prospects."

There has never been such a young God Stick in this scenic area before, and it quickly attracted many onlookers, with some even starting to record videos.

Yet Yun Ran wasn't flustered at all. The spectators on the side quickly asked the woman, "Beauty, is what she said about you correct?"

But there were also dissenting voices: "Psh, didn't that beauty's friend say earlier? They came to buy the Concubine Lock, so it must definitely be related to marital affairs.

Moreover, the complexion of this beauty is not too good, it is probably some relationship trouble. Even I can tell that.

Young girl, looking at you, you must still be a student, right? Instead of studying well, you've come here to play God Stick. Aren't you afraid of being beaten up?"

"That's right, that's right, with such mediocre skills, you still have the audacity to come here and scam people."

...

Many of the stallholders nearby are part of the Love·On the Way charity event. Seeing a crowd gathered around Yun Ran and her being exposed,

they immediately became unhappy. Those who came to participate in this event all came from various prestigious schools; it was the first time they experienced such embarrassment.

Little Fatty too was getting anxious and wanted to come over to help by saying a few words; they weren't con artists and certainly didn't need the money.

Yun Ran, however, still kept control of her own pace, not taking these people's heckling to heart at all.

She was once revered as a grandmaster respected by half the street, this was just a small scene. Moreover, necessary conflicts like this were needed to increase the popularity of her stall.

The woman hesitated after hearing the surrounding people's comments, feeling that she must have been muddle-headed to believe a young girl's words.

Just as she was about to say she no longer wished to continue with the fortune-telling,

Yun Ran's voice timely sounded: "In this romantic bond, you are the one who is eagerly pushing it, making you always under the control of the other party. A single sentence from them can cause you immense anxiety.

The reason you thought of getting a Concubine Lock is because you feel an unprecedented sense of crisis, to the point where you're restless and losing sleep."

If saying earlier that the beauty's romantic prospects were unsmooth made people think Yun Ran was just pretending to be a God Stick, that wasn't much of a problem.

But now, Yun Ran directly pointed out the reason for their troubled fate, leaving the onlookers without anything else to rebut.

"Beauty, is what she said correct?"

The woman's pupils constricted upon hearing Yun Ran's words, clearly being struck by the truth in them. Her circumstances weren't bad; normally, dating and getting married should have come naturally.

But she had been in a relationship for two years, and when it came to marriage, her boyfriend kept saying there was no rush and even urged her to get pregnant as soon as possible.

This subtly made her feel something was very wrong. Her friends had investigated for her and found the boyfriend wasn't cheating or anything and was very good to her.

But her nerves had been tightly wound this entire time; even her best friends had advised her to break up, yet she was so tightly held by him that she couldn't resist.

Now, with her hidden and suffocated feelings pointed out, the woman felt like she had finally let out a breath of relief as if a weight had been lifted off her chest.

"Yes."

"Then, is it true that he's urging you to get pregnant quickly? Looking at your Children Palace, you are sure to encounter joy within three months."

The woman's face turned pale upon hearing this; she had initially thought of just going along with a free fortune-telling session for the fun of it.

Who would have thought that the other party would hit the nail on the head with everything?

The tightly clenched string in her heart finally snapped, much like finding a lighthouse in the vast sea, giving her a sense of direction.

"Yes, my boyfriend says that in their customs, they must have a son before they can register to marry me.

But I always felt this was wrong and didn't know how to express my disagreement, so we have been at a stalemate. What should I do now?"
