Chapter 17 - 17 Free Second Hexagram

The bystanders watching the drama exploded in conversation immediately.

"Goodness, isn't this just freeloading? Such mastery in valuing boys over girls!"

"Nowadays, illegitimate children have the same inheritance rights. It doesn't matter much whether you have a marriage certificate or not, you don't have to deal with all that messy stuff. Just consider it that the father passes it on to his son, which is quite nice."

"Could it be a case of a mistress? I've heard before that some men who are married but cannot have children would deceive young girls to bear children for them. Once the children are born, they vanish with the kids."

The gossiping ability of our people is certainly no joke.

Many people were completely taken aback hearing gossip they had never encountered before.

Even those young ladies and young masters who previously thought Yun Ran was embarrassing came over to listen in on the gossip, with some even bringing food from their own stalls.

While eating, they asked: "Wow, there's such thing? Tell us more!"

The person gossiping, seeing such a large audience, completely forgot they were also just a spectator and took over as if it were their own stage, starting to talk about all sorts of bizarre stories.

Could Yun Ran let others steal the spotlight? That's impossible.

She bluntly dealt a crushing hand: "You're quite unlucky, your boyfriend is destined not to have a son. If you want a peaceful life, better find someone else."

With a single sentence, she successfully pulled back the attention of those who had been distracted by the gossip.

"What? No son! Really?"

Perhaps because Yun Ran had been accurate quite often, the onlookers began to doubt and resist her less.

They started giving advice to the woman seeking fortune-telling advice: "If this man has no sons, you definitely shouldn't fall into this trap. Otherwise, if you can't bear a son, all the blame will fall upon you."

"Exactly, back in my hometown, a family had seven daughters, and the woman was terribly bullied by her in-laws. I say, it's best not to get involved with a family destined not to have sons!"

The woman, no longer hesitant and with a clear mind, stood up immediately and bowed deeply to Yun Ran: "Thank you, master, for showing me the way."

Yun Ran simply smiled and nodded, exuding the aura of a true master.

As the two of them had just stood up, a man who looked somewhat idle and careless plopped down on the spot, so quickly that the onlookers couldn't react in time.

"Master, I also want my fortune told."

Yun Ran examined the man's face; though he seemed to be the type who takes advantage of others, he was no big villain, and she nodded in agreement.

The crowd, feeling a great sense of loss for missing out on such a good opportunity for free fortune-telling.

However, watching other people's situations was also quite interesting, so no one left. Instead, as more people crowded around, even more were drawn over.

This man had acted impulsively due to his idle nature and love for taking small advantages. Usually, he would stand in front of any stall offering free samples and continue eating until he was driven away.

This had trained him to be exceptionally quick when it came to taking advantage of situations.

Sitting down and looking into Yun Ran's eyes that seemed to see through him, he began to feel inexplicably intimidated.

Nervously rubbing his hands, he finally asked: "Master, I want to know when I will get rich?"

People coming to these fortune-telling stalls typically asked about their love life, career prospects, or financial fortune.

Hearing the man's question, neither Yun Ran nor the others found anything unusual; everyone pricked up their ears, curious to see if financial fortune could really be predicted.

The previous woman only had some gloominess which could be read from her facial expression, not needing any deeper methods.

But this man carried a hint of bloodshed around him, yet amidst this, there was also a trace of wealth energy.

Yun Ran took out an evolved copper coin and placed it in front of the man.

"Toss it casually."

The man was taken aback. He had been watching Yun Ran's entire fortune-telling process and had not seen her asking anyone to throw a copper coin.

Why did he need to throw this? Was it because the type of fortune was different?

But, driven by his desperate desire to get rich, he disregarded those concerns and tossed the copper coin.

Seeing the divination depicted by the copper coin, Yun Ran suddenly smiled. It turned out to be this type of fortune.

At this moment, her stall already had enough visitors, and there was no need to keep suspense.

Yun Ran straightforwardly said: "Three days later, you will be hit by a car, and the insurance company will compensate you with three hundred thousand."

Hearing this, the man's face changed expressions rapidly, wanting to ask something yet not knowing how to phrase his queries.

The onlookers immediately burst into questions: "Young master, what kind of fortune is this?"

Yun Ran wasn't annoyed but retorted: "You tell me, isn't this a huge fortune?"

The man, who didn't have a proper job, indeed considered three hundred thousand a substantial amount of money, but it meant exchanging his health...

"Master, isn't there any other way?"

Yun Ran shook her head: "Your financial luck comes with the disaster of bloodshed. If you want wealth, you must endure; if you want to avoid this disaster, you must give up the idea of making a windfall."

With a drooping head, the man was left conflicately struggling internally.

"Alright, today only the last divination is free."

The crowd surrounding them had grown to several dozen people. With only one slot left, some tried to claim this last chance.

"Let me have it, calculate for me!"

"Why should you? I was the first to come see the master's divination, it should be my turn!"

"That's not fair, why should you get the chance!"

Seeing that these people were about to fight, law enforcement nearby, noticing the crowd, quickly came over to reprimand those starting to quarrel.

"What are you doing, let go!"

Just then, a girl looking somewhat dazed was pushed forward and ended up sitting directly in front of Yun Ran.

She was utterly confused. Could she say she was just passing by?

Others, seeing they had been vying here for so long only for a young girl to take the opportunity, were instantly frustrated and stomped their feet in anger.

The girl, still slow to react, looked at Yun Ran and then said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

Yun Ran nonchalantly shook her head, with an enigmatic smile: "The fact that you ended up in front of me is fate."

The girl murmured in response: "Oh."

By now, the onlookers also noticed something was off with this girl.

"Young lady, what's wrong with you?"

"She looks out of sorts, like she's ill. The fortune-telling master can do divinations, but not medical treatments, right? Should we call 120?"

Someone was immediately about to make the call.

Yun Ran didn't stop them; indeed, the girl was ill, but it wasn't a sickness that hospitals could treat.
