Chapter 2 - Monas Monument

"Where are we going?" The girl said, her voice soft, but also faint.

Genderuwo chuckled slightly, he turned his head slightly, then flashed a thin smile.

"Don't worry Kunti, you don't need to ask many things, just follow me."

Silence, after those words were only filled with emptiness and silence, their feet continued to walk, and the girl... She didn't care, she just followed.

After passing through the city streets, through the bodies of people passing by, Genderuwo's footsteps stopped.

"Now... Now I want you to look ahead."

The wind blew softly, the girl's long hair was swept slowly... And when her eyes widened, she saw a tower? Or rather like a pillar that was so high.

The tip was made of gold that shone as if radiating, shining and giving warmth.

For once again the girl's eyes shone reflecting the ripples of stars in the air, the golden flash from the tip of the tower was reflected, like a light that symbolized courage.

"What is this?" She spoke in a soft and faint tone.

She turned her head, and there Genderuwo folded his arms, smiling looking at the tower.

"I still haven't asked you to look away, now look around you."

She looked away again. The gentle breeze of the wind that whispered softly, the sound of cheerful laughter that... Filled with warmth.

In the air, on the road, in the trees and others, all creatures seemed to gather, the same, nothing was different, having families, being able to smile and laugh, and for the first time... Something welled up in her eyes.

Her hand rose to wipe it, she sobbed, her chest was tight, but for some reason... It felt so relieved.

"I'm scared... I'm so scared."

Genderuwo gasped beside her, then his big hand rose, to gently stroke the girl's head.

"I know... You must be scared alone, huh... But it's okay Kunti... Because now you know, nothing is different, everything is the same."

There was no holding back, tears welled up in her eyes, falling like shining diamonds, and once again... She wasn't alone.

"Hungry... Hungry... Hungry," something said repeatedly, and from behind the darkness of the city, they were followed by dirty shadows and blood that decorated their bodies.

Walking limping, limping, sliding, and some flying, and for a moment the world seemed to stop spinning, her eyes were no longer wide, but staring dully.

"Look at them, you should know Kunti... For those who don't want to accept a little difference will be like that... Become the outcast, and considered a pest."

She turned her head slowly, hearing Genderuwo's words.

"So... If at that time you didn't help me... I would be like them?"

Genderuwo turned his head with a thin smile, but then his head moved to nod gently, seeing that... The girl also smiled softly.

"Oh yes, that's right... I forgot to say... This monument in front of us, it is the one that stores all the supernatural energy in this city."

Once again the girl looked up, seeing a group of happy spirits floating here and there like fairies. As if enjoying the warmth of the golden glow from the monument.

"Now... Come follow me Kunti."

Genderuwo stepped forward, then Kunti followed him from behind, a feeling of restlessness in her heart came.

"Where else are we going?" Kunti said in her faint voice.

Genderuwo turned his head, then raised his hand to point to the top of the monument, which radiated its golden light brightly in the middle of the city night that was no longer filled with hustle and bustle.

The girl was silent, something was stirring in her chest, fear? Or was it something that ignited her spirit?

Slowly like a call, their bodies rose upwards, floating slowly up to reach the bright light. Kunti gasped, she was floating without her will, with a little panic she looked right and left, the plains seemed further away.

"W-What happened?" The girl screamed softly.

Slowly approaching... And getting closer, their bodies were slowly swallowed into it, in there... Warmth enveloped, as if embraced by the feeling of affection itself.

They finally arrived in a white room, there was nothing, only a stretch of emptiness that enveloped them.

"Finally, some free spirits have succeeded in the right path," said the deep and authoritative voice.

They turned their heads simultaneously, and saw the figure standing with full determination, wearing a neat suit. Seeing that, Genderuwo came down to kneel before him.

"Mr. Soekarno, I finally managed to bring a free spirit, I hope you can accept him, and become part of us."

Soekarno laughed loudly, a laugh that almost shook the place with just his voice.

"Why do you need to ask me? Go and guide him."

Slowly the white emptiness faded, like a melting paint, the girl widened her eyes, then she stepped forward.

"T-Thank you."

Soekarno smiled softly and sincerely, his face increasingly abstract and invisible, and slowly almost disappeared.

"Why do you need to thank me? It's all thanks to you, therefore... Thank yourself."

Fading completely, now the girl found herself back where she was, standing in the same place with Genderuwo beside her.

The girl was still speechless, then she turned her head slowly towards the Genderuwo who for some reason had a satisfied smile spread across his lips.

"Who's he?" The girl asked in a curious tone, her voice clear and unmistakable, now demanding a direct answer without pause.

"Maybe you already know, but I will tell you again, he is a Hero of Indonesia, who made Indonesia independent and free from colonizers."

The girl fell silent, then her head began to nod slowly, although in her heart she still didn't really understand what it meant. Silence fell between them, both of them standing without speaking to each other.

"Well ,because Mr. Soekarno has agreed, now you are part of us, and actually we have a task—"

BANG!!!

A loud bang was heard, the dirty and ugly creature was seen, its blood was dripping profusely, its body was hanging high like a building, the girl stared wide-eyed, and on that day... She would know, the other side of the Nusantara?
