Chapter 1 - Shout my name!

"Do those who pass by look like humans?"

The hustle and bustle of the city thundered, the sound of vehicles, and the voices of people blended perfectly into the harmony of the city in general. And there... A girl stood, her clothes pure white, plain, covering her body all the way down.

Alone in the middle of the crowd, barefoot, her eyes were dull, her skin was pale, and this time her head was tilted upwards, looking at the expanse of stars and moonlight.

The air blew gently, the smell of tires... The smell of a typical city night, smiles, cheers and joy, suddenly his lips curled thinly, and as soon as the wind blew again... His body floated, flying freely in the air, like fragile silk.

High, very high... She was free, nothing was blocking her. Her hands were stretched upwards... Ah, how unfortunate, she was unable to reach the moon, unable to touch the stars, and once again... Her eyes were dull, her smile disappeared.

"Who am I?"

And like cotton... Her body slowly descended, slowly until it returned to the surface, only to look back at the stars and the moon.

Cheers, cheerful laughter, the sound of horns... The overlapping crowds, people passing by without looking back, like small pebbles, sturdy... But still standing.

"Hey... Do you know my name?"

It was useless, her voice would never reach, he would not be able to reach it, and in the silence that almost tore her soul, she bowed her head.

"Someone please tell me my name."

Her legs that looked fragile... Running without stopping, even a shadow was just like a phrase... A disgusting phrase. And once again... She would never be heard.

And in the shadows of people passing by... She stared straight ahead, leaving behind the last hidden hope... She disappeared.

***

Ahhh... During the day, the girl was so poor, with her white clothes that looked thin, just hiding in a narrow alley all day, hiding in the shadows... Because the sun looked scary.

Disgusted, or... Not? She saw everything, bleedingly crawling on the street, looking for blood to eat.

"Hungry, hungry, hungry," she said incessantly with rotting feet, blood and pus coming out disgustingly.

She was silent... Once again, what did this mean? She didn't even understand, only the dullness of her eyes was really striking.

Night returned, was she free... Or actually... Never free? She herself didn't even know, and she didn't want to know that, in the end she just tried to scream, she tried to touch, but for once... No one really paid attention.

Only the night... The stars and the moon, which could give her strength that could give her encouragement, but was that enough?

In a skyscraper, where it seemed like she was the center of the moon's spotlight, where her hands were stretched out and dancing, whether about something she once remembered... Or never?

Spinning, stretching, jumping, all those beautiful movements, like a wilted flower that still tried to bloom, even though the flower was in the desert.

Could she feel the piercing cold air? Or even... Maybe what filled her at that time was only... Loneliness?

I don't know... At least, that night, she just wanted to dance, whether for herself? Whether for something? Even she didn't know.

"Are you a newcomer?" Said something from another direction, his voice sounded like a man, heavy, but something else.

Her dance stopped for a moment, she didn't look back, but continued dancing, not caring, not wanting to obey.

"Huh... That newcomer is really annoying huh... Well, I understand," said the male voice with a tone full of complaints and light sighs.

Slowly something approached, and in an instant... Her hand was held, her dance stopped, and she remained silent, then turned and saw his figure.

His body was tall, his eyes were red, his black hair was messy, his body was a little hairy, and the most striking thing was... His sharp fangs that looked quite long. But somehow... His gaze was different.

"Stop, and accept this. See? I can touch you, right? You're not alone," his voice seemed so heavy, but also sounded sincere.

The girl's eyes were still droopy, then she looked straight to see the face of the figure in front of her, her lips lifted, to make a sound.

"Do you know my name?"

Silence fell, and a heavy sigh came from the figure in front of her, but then a small smile crept onto her lips.

"I don't know your name, what if from now on... You are Kunti?"

Slowly the girl's dull eyes disappeared, a ray of hope, her eyes seemed to reflect the expanse of shining stars, she stared at the figure in front of her, this time... Maybe with a different expression.

"Hey... Come with me, and I'll teach you everything, and you... Won't be alone anymore."

For the first time, I wonder? Her smile widened, her eyes smiled too... And maybe she just got what she didn't expect anymore.

"That's right... I'm Kunti."

"That's right... Smile like that, we have no difference with humans... Because basically we are creatures... There is nothing to differentiate, even though... We are different."

The moonlight was getting brighter, and the lights from every building started to turn on brightly, the middle of the night was filled with silence, and the two figures were still standing staring at each other.

"By the way... My name is Genderuwo, from now on we are partners, okay? How about it? Agreed?"

The girl was silent for a moment, but then her beautiful wide smile spread again with great sincerity. And... As the wind blew softly... The two figures disappeared.

A silent night, a bright moon that no one owns, the middle of the city night accompanied only by hanging silence. And from that night, everything just started, starting from loneliness, and a hope... Which perhaps, is still hanging without clarity, still hanging for confirmation.

And that night... Let the Nusantara sleep.
