🥀 ABELIA'S POV 🥀
How do people who are always in trouble live their lives? Always anxious about what happens tomorrow.
I stood alone in the center of war, as Nemo and Brina tore down flesh. They weren't the type to fight with guns, they preferred swords, knives, and every other weapon with sharp edges.
I could barely take one step, I just stood there in the centre of everything, and yet nothing brushed my skin, Nemo made sure of that.
Blood flowed, and nobody gave a fuck that people were dying.
"Move those feet, Abelia," Nemo snarled, elbowing me out of my thoughts.
Brina hunked a car, motioning us to get in, trembling, I tried to move, but my legs weren't listening to my mind.
"Abelia!" Nemo yelled again.
This time, I struggled harder to move, but it was like my leg was rooted to the ground.
Nemo rushed towards me, carried me like a princess, and threw me into the car. "Next time you pull this stunt, I'll leave you to die."
He got into the front seat and Brina zoomed off, "Take it easy on her, any normal human would freak out after seeing that amount of blood.
"Y – you are the only one with a brain, Brina," I struggled to attack.
Brina chuckled, "You need to be strong, there's a lot of enemies so you'll be seeing much more blood."
"You could tell her that for me," Nemo snapped.
I swallowed the vomit that was threatening to spill, as the brutal image of minutes ago replayed in my head, "Where did y'all learn to fight like that? You were in a lot of places at the same time, I could barely see who was fighting."
"We are not wrestlers Abelia, we are Assassins. If you think we are scary then you should stay away from Nemo, he's more, scary." Brina pointed out.
"I already know that," I muttered, ogling at Nemo.
We got to a strange building, on top of it was a small house, but beneath it was a tunnel that led to an underground.
"We will be staying here for a while," Nemo announced.
"Just call me if you need me again," Brina announced.
I turned around to look at her, "You aren't staying? Didn't you say you are in danger also?"
"Yes, but I'll die sooner if I stay with him," she retorted, "I'll advise you to run away also."
With that, she zoomed off.
We walked into the underground room, it was cold and cozy with only one bed and a very little space.
I glanced at Nemo and glanced back at the bed.
"We will only be here for a while," he explained.
Who said I was bothered? On the contrary, I was worried about him.
I sat calmly on the bed and reflect the adventure of the day. "Do you have to kill like that?" I asked calmly.
"Like what?" he asked.
"Slicing their heads off, slicing their guts, arms, legs, and just killing them brutally like it's nothing. You didn't look human while killing." I responded.
"I stopped being human when I was little. It's impossible to still be human after going through such training."
Ignoring him, I dragged out my phone from my pocket, "We didn't bring anything, not even a change of clothes," I pointed out.
"We would be out of here soon, we can't get tracked down here, so it's the safest for now," he muttered.
"Okay," I whispered.
"I think you should contact your agent it might be saver to be with him right now. Your brother doesn't know you are alive yet so you should be safe. Staying with me is dangerous," Nemo reasoned out.
Nodding, I responded reluctantly, "Okay."
Hours passed, we said nothing to each other, it was just stunned silence, apart from the awkward atmosphere there was nothing more.
I cleared my throat. "Do we have anything to eat?"
He nodded, "This place is fully loaded on food and snacks, incase of emergencies like this."
Suddenly I heard a beep on my phone and I swiftly picked it up to check the notification that came in.
As I strolled through my social media feed, my eyes widened in horror as I stumbled upon a post that made my heart sink. The headline read: "Abelia Kingston, the first child of Mr. Kingston, was spotted in a wheelchair in Miracle Health Hospital eight months ago."
With my mind rising, my eyes frantically danced through the article, my skin growing pale with each passing sentence. As I continued to read, my anger turned into despair. The comment section was filled with hateful messages, and my reputation, my livelihood, and my dignity were all torn apart in a matter of minutes.
My hands shook as I tried to process the information, "Cain Kingston was allegedly attacked by his elder sister, Abelia Kingston. It's assumed that Cain Kingston tried to defend himself from his elder sister, who has a selfish interest in being the don of their father's organization."
I felt like I had been punched in the gut. My pride and joy were being torn apart by malicious rumours.
"What happened?" Nemo asked from behind me.
I turned to face him, "You said the hospital was safe? Cain just found out I'm alive through social media. Somebody posted a picture of me being in the hospital eight months ago, and the caption says I attacked Cain and I landed in the hospital because he defended himself."
Sad tears rolled down my face as I struggled to smile, "Now we are not just running from your assassin brothers, but also my brother Cain and the media."
