Cherreads

Chapter 56 - 56

Dawei was still pushing steadily through the Infinity Tower. He wasn't fast—but he was consistent. Every swing, every attribute point added, every kill—all carefully measured. No flashy moves, no streaming, no flexing on world chat.

Just pure progression.

Meanwhile, at Dragon War HQ…

A notification popped into the guild's mission chat.

Incoming Call Request: Shanwei Coco

Before anyone could vet it, she was dragged straight into the task group voice chat.

"Wow," Coco said with a smirk. "Straight into your mission group? Aren't you worried I'll see your secret strategies?"

Across the comms, the man known as Chaotic Star laughed. "Beautiful women always have time to come play with us. Don't tell me your beauty president wants to team up to raid the first major human quest?"

Despite the smooth talk, Coco—gaming under the handle Chen Ke'er—wasn't flustered.

"Dragon War's not planning to eat the whole pie alone, right?" she replied coolly. "The 'Beauty Guild' doesn't share beds with sweaty boys—but business? That's different."

"Business, huh?" Chaotic Star leaned into the topic with mock interest. "What kind of advice is a beauty offering today?"

"Not advice," she said with a sly grin. "A reminder. Your boss better brace himself."

Chaotic Star's smirk faded. "Something big happened?"

Coco nodded. "We've confirmed it—Low-Key Brother is active in Dragon City. He's already progressing through the Black Dragon Invasion line."

"…You mean the Low-Key Brother?" Chaotic Star frowned. "The one who cleared the god-level mission?"

"Exactly. You think I'd be here wasting time on anyone else?"

There was silence. Then a laugh—but it was thinner now. "Come on. Just a casual solo player. What's he going to do—solo your million-player war?"

"That's the arrogance I expected," Coco said sweetly. "But here's the truth: we spent millions digging out dragon-related quest chains. He just appeared. Solo. Ahead of your entire prep team. That's worth paying attention to."

Her tone sharpened at the end. A subtle warning.

Behind her, Sophie, president of Alice Studio, nodded approvingly. "Draw their attention," she said. "Make them nervous."

And it worked.

The chat went quiet again. Chaotic Star didn't respond for a full ten seconds.

Finally, he said, "Thanks for the heads-up. I'll let our boss know. Consider this… your IOU."

Coco smiled, then disconnected. Mission complete.

Dragon War HQ – Executive Room

Wu Yingjie, Dragon War's enigmatic boss, listened carefully to Chaotic Star's report. Unlike the younger hotheads on his team, Wu had seen entire games rise and fall. He'd turned online campaigns into real-world wealth, and the current human campaign arc was projected to be worth tens of millions.

A solo player disrupting their rollout?

He didn't laugh. He calculated.

"Start the next phase," he ordered. "Reassign team logistics. Scale material support. And I'll transfer in a think tank to support our advance."

Dragon War moved like a machine.

Back in the Infinity Tower…

Dawei watched the World Channel explode.

Dragon War had gone full mobilization mode—hundreds of thousands of players were now enlisted under their command, many just for the free merit rewards. Even players outside the guild had joined in, wanting to ride the wave of an organized mega-event.

Dawei whistled.

"The appeal of a major guild is terrifying…"

It was war season now. Dragon War was crashing toward Dragon City like a tsunami, and Dawei knew what that meant: the clock was ticking.

He picked up his pace.

He was now on the third tower zone: the Roundabout Courtyard. A maze-like layer filled with thick-walled, nested courtyards and narrow garden paths. The layout changed, but the function didn't—kill, kill, progress.

With over twenty layers cleared, and extra attribute boosts from earlier boss chests, Dawei had turned into a stat monster.

Base Attack: 60

Attack Speed: 4 per second

Effective DPS per hit: ~310

After crit or break: One-shots up to Lv. 20 mobs, two-shots Lv. 30 mobs

This was where his decision to go attribute path over gear truly shined. Every increase in base damage was amplified by his artifact weapon's percentage bonuses, allowing his efficiency to scale exponentially.

On the 30th floor, he crushed the elite boss with only mild resistance.

A glowing silver chest dropped from the sky.

[System Prompt: You have received the Silver Hunter's Treasure Chest.]

Dawei's eyes lit up.

Silver tier. That's rare loot.

He cracked it open—

[You have obtained: Wildshot Cloak (A-Class)]Gear Type: BackEffect: +10% Movement Speed, +15% Crit Rate, +5% EvasionSpecial: Adds a tracking mark on first hit of a new target (PvE only).

Dawei grinned and immediately equipped it.

Now this was loot.

He stepped toward the next corridor, eyes sharp.

"Keep pushing. If Dragon War's going full force, then I've got no time to waste."
