Apparently, the spider became visibly hesitant after seeing the zombie's quick death.
When he looked at it, it began to step back.
Of course, he wasn't going to let it go.
He jumped onto the roof of the building which wasn't that high and his jump as a gorilla could reach higher points.
With ease, he landed on top of the building and chased after the spider which finally decided to run away.
As he chased after it, it suddenly released a giant web towards him, blocking the path in front of him.
ROAR!
He roared at the web where his roar was much louder.
Suddenly, the threads of the web began to cut simultaneously.
Luis became more aggressive as he could feel his Primordial Gold Core was about to deactivate and it would exhaust him greatly.
Fortunately, his running was faster. He grabbed the spider's hindmost leg, pulling it towards him.
Hua!
Its body was instantly pulled backwards. Although it was huge, the spider's body was very light to him.
His other hand then hit it hard.
BANG!
That Level 2 Death Flame Spider was no different from a Level 1 when it received his punch with its Primordial Gold Core active.
It exploded into blood, leaving only its Monster Core and then its soul entered his body, giving him more EXP.
(EXP: 89%)
'Just a little more!'
Luis didn't want to miss the chance to level up as soon as possible.
After all, going from Level F to F+ only required reaching 100% EXP. Even if he didn't have a Spirit, his level would still go up.
His gaze fell on the Level 1 Death Flame Spiders that were just keeping their distance without going far.
Seeing the death of the Level 2 Death Flame Spider, they started to run, but he jumped at them from the roof of the building.
BANG!
When he landed, the resulting shock sent them tumbling.
BANG! BANG!
He used his foot to create an even stronger shock.
The shock was actually enough to kill them.
One by one, they began to die.
(EXP: 100%)
DING!
(Your EXP has reached 100%, you level up to Level F+!)
Just as he leveled up, he turned back into a human because he ran out of stamina to maintain his monster figure.
[Name: Luis Moonvale]
[Level: F+]
(EXP: 0)
[Estimated Power: 36]
(Spirit: none!)
"Only 36!"
Luis glared at the number.
Even after leveling up, he was still extremely weak compared to the Primordial Golden Gorilla that was at Level F.
Being an Awakener without a Spirit really felt useless.
However, he could feel that he was still much stronger than ordinary humans.
Fortunately, there were no more monsters around. They had run away.
He could not simply return to Velos because he had not collected the Monster Cores he had killed.
As of now, there were seven Level 1 Monster Cores and two Level 2 Monster Cores.
Level 1 had a price of 20 Dollars while Level 2 had a price of 200 Dollars.
The total was 540 Dollars. He couldn't afford to lose them as they were a good amount of money to him.
After a moment of stabilizing his breathing and recovering his stamina, he transformed into a Death Flame Spider whose size was equivalent to the Level 2 he had killed.
Shua! Shua! Shua!
He used his threads to retrieve all of his Monster Cores.
In an instant, they were gathered in front of him while he instantly returned to his human form.
Monster Cores were similar to diamonds except they had a round shape.
A Level 1 Monster Core is the size of a fist while a Level 2 is the size of a ball.
The higher the level, the bigger the size.
There are even said to be Monster Cores the size of mountains. Who knows how big a monster that has such a Monster Core is. However, that was only a legend of the Flying Star Empire.
The functions of the Monster Core itself are quite numerous. The energy inside for example was often used to supply energy to various technologies.
It can be used for all kinds of technologies.
Some companies can even turn it into Potions with various effects.
With many people needing it, the Monster Core would practically always be able to be sold as it was never short of buyers. Its price never dropped, it could actually increase over time.
"Is it true that you saw a Primordial Golden Gorilla here?"
"Yes boss, I saw it here, it was only ten meters tall which means it was only at Level 1 yet it was able to slaughter Level 2 Monsters with ease."
"But where is it now?"
"Ohh, look, there's someone!"
Luis who was collecting Monster Cores was startled by the sound of a group of people.
He looked in the direction of the voice, finding five young men.
Interestingly, they were standing on the back of a bird monster.
Their leader who was called the boss was only wearing a sports singlet and he had a tattoo that seemed to glow on his upper arm.
'Is he a Beast Master?' Luis wondered.
Beast Masters are people who have a unique Spirit that allows them to tame monsters, making the monsters fight for them.
If they got their hands on a particularly powerful monster, they would be very difficult to deal with.
Luis became somewhat panicked at meeting them.
Before he could do anything, they jumped at him.
"Level F+, Estimated Power only 36, what the hell are you," said the boss.
His body was rather thin but tall and solid. He had brown hair with a pretty handsome face.
Apparently, he could detect Luis' strength.
Luis was not surprised when he saw the glasses above his head that he lowered to his face for a moment.
It was a more advanced product, called Magic Glasses. It was very expensive, but it could show stats in more detail, and could even see some of other people's stats without even seeing their spirits.
"What, he only has 36 Estimated Power."
The others were also surprised to hear that.
"Looks like he's the unfortunate one who doesn't have a Spirit, hahaha..."
Luis, "..."
"Boy, did you see a Primordial Golden Gorilla here?" The boss asked Luis.
"I just arrived and found a lot of Monster Cores here, so I collected them. I don't know what gorilla you mean," Luis replied.
He thought it was a reasonable answer because there was no way anyone would think he could turn into a monster.
He also didn't expect that anyone else would see him fighting. Fortunately that person seemed to have chosen to leave to report to his boss, so he didn't see when he returned to his human form.
Right now, what he was worried about was that they would rob his Monster Core because they were from someone else's point of view instead of his own work.
Even if they were his own work, he could still be robbed.
Apocalypse World had no laws. People could even kill each other here.
"You said you didn't see it, then did you feel any vibrations when you arrived?" The boss asked him another question.
And he shook his head in response.
"Cih!" The boss instantly looked annoyed.
His eyes looked around as if he wanted to find traces of the gorilla.
"It couldn't have just disappeared," he said in a low voice.
"Boss, maybe the gorilla has entered a building and is hiding inside. Let's surround this area, maybe we can detect it," said one of his subordinates.
He seemed to agree with the suggestion. After nodding, he jumped onto the back of his bird monster, followed by the others.
They apparently didn't take Luis' Monster Cores. Perhaps their minds were too focused on that Primordial Golden Gorilla that they couldn't possibly find.
'I must return to Velos now,' he thought as he opened a dimensional rift to Planet Velos.
He stepped into it while carrying all those Monster Cores that were too much for his hands.
'I'll just sell them,' he thought.
He didn't feel the need to keep the Monster Cores himself. All he needed now was money.
When going out into the street, he had no trouble finding an Awakener Shop that traded Awakener goods.
It could be found everywhere and all belonged to the residents of the Flying Star Empire.
They monopolized the business, but the managers were still locals.
Of course, most shops on the side of the road only sold ordinary items like Rank F or E Weapons.
They were sold quite cheaply, but Luis wasn't planning on buying any weapons since he didn't need them.
He entered the shop while carrying his Monster Cores.
Seven Level 1 and two Level 2, that was quite a lot. Even those with Spirits wouldn't necessarily be able to collect that much in one day.
Luis sold them all, getting 540 Dollars in cash.
He didn't want the money to be transferred to his bank account as it might be immediately deducted by the Flying Star Empire.
