The rooftop was quiet.
Just wind, sky, and tension thick enough to choke on.
Minami stood near the railing, arms crossed, her blazer fluttering slightly in the breeze.
She didn't look angry.
She looked… tired.
Yuuki stepped forward. "You wanted to talk."
She turned to him slowly. "So it's real?"
He froze. "What?"
"You and her. Arisa."
She took a breath. "It wasn't just… pretend?"
"It started that way."
"But it's not anymore?"
Silence.
"I don't know," he said honestly.
That hurt her more than a yes or no ever could.
Minami stepped closer. "You used to look at me like that."
Yuuki looked down. "You left."
"I was scared."
Her voice cracked.
"I liked you too much, and I didn't want to ruin it by saying the wrong thing. So I said nothing. And then I watched you move on with someone you were never supposed to keep."
Yuuki looked up. "She wasn't supposed to stay. She was supposed to be temporary."
"Then why does she look more permanent than I ever did?"
That one stung.
Then—
The rooftop door creaked open.
Both of them turned.
Arisa.
Holding Yuuki's forgotten bento box in her hands.
"I—" she blinked. "Didn't know you were with someone."
Minami didn't flinch. "Stay. This involves you too."
Yuuki's heart dropped.
And just like that, the love triangle became a war zone.
