In just two days Sam achieved a dull mana core with the help of the wand. At this rate, it may not be long when he gets the chance to learn new spells from the system.
He sat in an as dull light of a class as his core, and the perhaps oldest looking man they could find taught in the musty environment. He stood by the window, often stuttering but making sure to spit out whatever he could remember.
"I remember.. back in my days. The Legend of the Lotian. The Great Cultivators that came from there. They were all fierce warriors, never backing down from any chance they got to save one in need. Yeah I know, it may sound repititive. But remember kids, that on top of advancing through nearly 10 soul orbs, the greatest cultivator called Lang Juan also had 5 spirits in hand. One of a fierce lion, one of a gargantuan serpent, another of the thunder horse, the fourth of a.. of a.. uh.. forget the fourth, his fifth spirit I mean, which was also his very first spirit that he absorbed. It was also what proved to be the most significant part of his legend. It was a.. Yes! I remember now, It was a Summer Winter Cicada. Ah those were the days, when we used to catch bugs all day. But you all young ones yearn for the brighter spirits. I have to say, that even though all of the powerful spirits may seem good at first. It all comes down on how you use it. My ancestor used to say that The Saint Lang Juan used to turn Summer into Winter with that little bug of a spirit. Oh was it so special..."
'This seems so familiar.. anyways. I think I should start huh.. with the other two I have put on hold.. I don't think that wolf is gonna come out any sooner.' Sam thought as no matter what he did, the spirit didn't respond to him.

45th strike. Shaa. 46th Strike. Shoo. 47th strike. At that moment, the strike from the makeshift sword of a tree branch came down with clarity, and with a crispy Whoosh.
"Hahh.. F-Finally.. I got the strike right.. ugh.. do I really have to complete all 100? Fucking system. I'll do it alright.." The basics of the Demonic Weapon Destiny was being done by the young boy in a secluded spot outside the Academy.
48th Strike. Whoosh...

"Ugh.. I'm so tired... Hey roomie, wanna tell me a bit more about your destiny.. explain in a way so I don't just sleep.." sam was slumped on his bed again.
"W-What?!" The Roommate almost short-circuited the contraption he was working upon. "Bro.. isn't it enough. What battle do you have to fight that you are training so hard?"
"Uh.. you know.. I always got a bit of some assassins coming after me and all that.. I was a gangster back when I was fetal enough. Whatever, just tell me what you can.." Sam adjusted his position on the bed.
"That's too excessive. Even if it were that, you know nobody else can enter the academy grounds like that—"
"Will you explain or not? I fear I'll pass out from the exhaustion if you don't keep me up.. come on.. it's not like I ask for much, just whatever you can share.." Sam set his pillow right.
"Hahh... Fine. Then I won't hold back either, don't blame me." The Roommate focused back on his contraption and he started speaking at the same time with much less attention. "So, you may know. The gods. Which I absolutely cannot share, since, you know for obvious reasons. Most of the people may just see our Continent's speciality just for the powers we get from them. But that's not all of it, Master Ego did specify that 120 points test. Actually, our Continent's speciality lie in technology, inventions and all that. We are just smart."
"And we use that to our own benefit. These walls you see, more than half of the effort done to make this room as it is comes from our brilliant minds. I'm not saying this just to belittle the Empire, I'm saying it just because We are that good in making life easier, so that's why people look up to us to do just that." The Roommate fixed one of the wiring on the contraption.
"But that's also just superficial. On the background comes the most important part. I mean you can guess already, so I can't hide much from you. All of the destiny research comes from us too, except the northern one." He then looked at the contraption under light and figured out its weak spots.
"Some things happened forgotten in history, but we don't research their destiny. But we do with Magic And Cultivation! Remember the floating castle, that's us. More importantly remember the Emperor, yeah he also was from originally our Continent—" He was about to hammer it that one faulty screw right as he got interrupted.
"Wait. Wait. What?! The Emperor. From your continent? But how did he get the three destinies then. Isn't it basically impossible unless you are in the central continent—" Sam almost sat upright, but couldn't because he was lazy.
"Exception. That's all it is. He was the exceptional genius in our Continent long ago, and now he is the emperor here." He smoothly fixed the screw again.
"Long ago? What. I mean he looks just like any other.. middle aged dad. How long are we talking about here?" Sam was curious now.
"Uh.. I don't know. Decades? Forget that. As far as I know, he was someone who started this Empire on this continent. It happened.. right when that incident between our and northern continent happened. But anyways, do you want to learn history or learn the destiny?" The Roommate almost got irritated as he had to switch the focus from one story to the other.
"Destiny please. Continue.."
"So as I was saying, Intelligence is the most important thing to making you prominent. A creative mind also helps..."

A week later.
The crystal spheres sprawled out in one floor of the Magic Department. One of them glowed a Bright White light.
"Oh.. that feels so good. It's all thanks to this wand." Sam kissed the wand looking at it affectionately. "Ugh.. I guess I will have to thank him some day or later. But first, it's the Spell Unlocking Time!"
***
"I'm not gonna be dumb like that last time. If anything goes wrong, it will be in my room. Hm.. he must be asleep by now.. So System, show me what I can unlock!"
[ The Bright Mana Core is not adequate for spells, but it should be enough for the most basic of them. ]
"Hm.. basic again huh.. There were the 8 schools of magic that they will teach us later.. Why don't I just learn the elements first. That should be basic enough right? Yeah, Show me what I can do, System."

"Calm down Sam.. you wouldn't wanna wake the roommate up.. Phew. System. Are requirements like these going to be for all of the skills?"
[ Affirmative ]
He ripped his bed sheets, the ones he was clutching upon, frustratingly enough.

"Yo buddy, wake up. Something is coming out of your hand."
"What is that? Looks so wierd."
Sam woke up to the sounds of the classmates on his bench. "Uh.. wha-what? What? What happened?"
"Look at your hand. Hehe.. have you been doing weird experiments?"
The day after getting that jumpscare from the system about the spells, Sam was sleeping as usual in the Magic Class. He was tired from the training he had to do all day and also to fulfill those requirements.
He suddenly looked at his right hand.. as a sort of purple gas oozed out. "What the fuck? Hey, did someone else do this? What-Whats happening.."
Before he could stand up to stop the lecture of the humble teacher, a small creature popped out of his right hand. It was Dark Purple in colour, and it was looking angrily at Sam. "Oh my.. my spirit! Oh my great spirit, how long have I waited for you.." The tail of the spirit was connected to his hand. It angrily yanked it out, until it came out perfectly. The Small Dire-Wolf Spirit was still connected to his hand by a visible purple mist like thread.
It was visibly angry with Sam, until it wandered around a bit, on the desk.
"Oh bro that is so cool! Is that the Spirit I have been hearing those cultivation dudes talk about?"
"Let me see. Oh that is so cute. What is that a dog? Oh no it's a wolf!"
Sam replied. "Ah! Hehe.. Yeah you know how it goes. I have two destinies. And I just thought to take this small spirit with me."
The wolf spirit familiarized with its surroundings a bit more, until it came back on his hand and slumped down. It started to sleep and absorb energies at the same time.
[ Your Spirit would like to absorb energies in its ethereal form. ]
[ This won't strain your mental or physical traits. ]
[ Do you give it permission to absorb? ] - [ Yes/No ]
'Oh that is such a relief. Fuck yes. Buddy eat it all and grow strong. Hehe, I'm glad you finally came out.' The spirit glowed it's dark purple colour while absorbing.
"Aw that is so cute! Is that one of those spirit things? I'm Elisa, By the way." A girl looked back on Sam's bench, and tried to touch the spirit without disturbing it's sleep.
"Hehe.. Yeah it's a Dire-wolf! I'm Sam by the way.. you know I pick up animals in need all the time. If I say so myself, I used to do a rescue business for them in my hometown..."
Lies, Blatant Lies.
