Sam's turn came up at the Cultivation Department.
"Alright. Now show me the spirit." The Clerk was just a young looking man, who was wearing glasses.
"Um.. I actually didn't manage to bond with it that well.. heh.. that won't be an issue is it?" Sam asked nervously.
"Hahh.. Well, you remember that you may be placed in a lower class because of it, right? Anyways, what kind of spirit is it?" He said as he was about to put the pen down to write it.
"Uh.. it was a wolf. Is that good enough?" He wasn't sure if revealing it was a Dire-Wolf would have any worse reaction.
Instead the guy was in scrutiny, "A Wolf? I said what kind? Is it a demon wolf? Blood wolf? Mana? What is it?"
"Oh.. Well then it's actually a Dire-Wolf. Yeah that one, I guess from the size.." he didn't wanted to seem suspicious.
Instead laughter erupted behind him.
"Hahaha, is this guy joking? Just a simple wolf? He must be crazy."
"Bro couldn't you get a worm or something. Hah! Even a bird or a fish would have been better."
"Yeah buddy, just play with your wolf your whole life. It won't help you much, Haha.."
Sam was surprised, as he didn't expect this sort of reaction.
The clerk sighed again, heavily this time and said, "You.. You should have just asked us instead. In our storage we have many spirits which are ineffective but sold for very cheap. Even if it's a dire-wolf, it won't help you much. It's powers are very much less for your future."
"But! I still didn't had any money! I couldn't buy them even if I wanted to—"
"Regardless. You can't change anything now. Just live with this Fate you have in our destiny." The clerk then engraved on a metal tablet and gave it to Sam. "I can't do much for you either, so you only get placed in the lowest class. Good luck."
Sam exited out the department with the tablet. 'The fuck he means by Good Luck. Is it really that bad..' Sam thought with a deep sigh.

"...As I had explained the 8 schools of magic briefly. They will come later on, as we have to progress step by step, am I right?" Mr. Rodney spoke earnestly.
But in the big auditorium of a class, all the kids replied with defeated tantrums.
Apparently the other destiny departments and classes were not like cultivation. Miss Ivory had divided their classes into simple A,B,C,D,E.. and like this sections, without any relevance of any sorts. She believed everyone had an equal opportunity to learn, instead of judging them by talent or luck.
Sam had learned quickly about the other's situations too, obviously from the kids fluid and rumor like chatter. For the Enlightenment Destiny, apparently those mysterious Beings were actually the Gods of the southern continent. Sam had tried to argue this out in a light way with his roommate, but he also had no idea as in their lands they just regarded them from the ancient times, who now support their people by giving powers and abilities. So obviously their classes were divided based on that, like who got blessed by which of their gods, as apparently there wasn't a set number that the continent would reveal or release like music.
The Demonic Weapon Destiny also had a simple division too. Obviously there would be many sorts of weapons that any of them could bond with. Master Jiro had brought along with him many other masters from the continent, who were well-versed in their own speciality of techniques and styles of different types of weapons. So their classes got divided in like close ranged weapons like daggers, short swords, etc. long ranged like spears... That sort of stuff. The interesting part was that the Blade, or specially the Sword users had a separate Master from all the similar weapons with blades like sabres. Instead, Jiro had brought along Three Masters for The Sword Bonded as it was the most amount of batch of children they got.
Sam hadn't stepped foot into his cultivation class, as his morning classes were of Magic. Naturally, the Academy came up with solutions for the ones with Multiple destinies. Single destiny children had no problem, as they had only one destiny to worry about. Two destinies children had a morning class for one destiny, and a choice between afternoon or evening class for the other destiny. They had to stick to one choice for their whole year, and sam chose the afternoon one to have all the free time for later.
Three destinies were a special case, alongside Lucius and the Blue Haired Girl, there was another one who appeared at the very end of the week long Fate Selection. Those three are being given special treatment from the renowned masters themselves, especially Lucius as he is the Emperor's son. Ragnar subsequently got some of the special attention too due to his already unique accomplishments in the two destinies, and also since Lucius pleaded or more like threatened in a way to keep him by his side.
Those three with the three destinies never had to come to classes, as they got training and knowledge directly. Interestingly enough, even though they had the freedom of roaming through the Academy, not a single kid has seen any of the three out here. As if they have become a recluse to receive special training and become the strongest.
Sam yawned in the magic class with Four Destinies. 'Come on system.. give it to me alreadyyy... When can I unlock my skills, I'm bored..' He was regularly absorbing energies from the air into his mana core and soul orb for now. Apparently his little spirit was eating up most of it, so he was annoyed by it too.
What he was most annoyed by, was that he hadn't gotten to unlock even a single skill from the system, other than the Fireball. And he was impatient enough. No matter what he did or asked for the days he had gotten it, it gave no answer. But strangely enough, it did just then, in the middle of the class.
[ You need to progress with your soul orb and mana core first to have a go at unlocking those Destinies skills. ]
"But I am progressing!" He unexpectedly said it out loud. As the whole class looked at him. Then he sat down embarrassingly enough through the hushed whispers.
"Dude what the hell, I was having a nice sleep back here."
"Yo, do we got a psycho here.."
"Alright alright. Settle down, it may be an honest mistake. Now as I was saying, the Mana Core's colour is dependent upon..." Mr Rodney smoothened it out.
'Fucking system. What do you mean by progress. Have I not been doing enough?' Sam brushed off the gestures and chuckles from the other kids very quickly, as he focused on himself.
[ Progress really means to making a substantial change in the percentage value. ]
[ You had changed the values into variables in an outburst before. ]
[ In other words, you would have to make a substantial enough advancement in any of the destiny. ]
[ For Magic, You have a Faint White Core. You would have to progress to atleast A Bright Mana Core to even handle the basic spells. ]
[ For cultivation you have two ways. Let the spirit grow stronger or make an advancement with your soul orb. ]
[ Since the spirit is eating most of the Qi Energy during absorption, System recommends the faster way is to focus on making it stronger. ]
[ For the other two destinies, you haven't done anything at all. ]
[ Even starting to do something with their basics would be a good option right now. ]
'What? Are you saying I have made no progress at all! I have been absorbing energies through the weeks! Why hasn't it gotten to that point yet. Urgh. I'm sure my fat spirit is eating away most of it, why did I even get it.' Sam thought while slumping his head down on the table.
'Such a boring lecture...' He had skimmed through the basics of Magic with the system, so it wasn't much to interest him. As it was all the same history drama of how mana relates to spells, how magic came to be and all that jibber jabber.
'Oh My great Spirit.. eat it all. But I'm warning you, come out tonight at least.. I want to use you.. urgh even though you are useless..' He really was in a hopeless situation right now. Fat broke, no progress, no connection, no friends...

"Knock Knock"
"Ugh.. who the hell is there.. I'm tired." Even absorbing energies all day and also sitting through boring lectures was tiring. Nevermind the rough atmosphere of the lowest class he got of the cultivation destiny. Sam was slumped down on his bed.
"It's me! Your smartest roommate."
"You say it like as I have any other.." Sam turned his head to look towards his bed. As usual, he was putting down his stuff from his own classes. "So how did the lab go today? Any fun? I'm sure it must have been.."
"Nah bro. It was the same as usual you know. They just make us do all these random things. Like making water boil, handling gems and all that. It's tiring for me too you know. Hah.. well not like you. Same again?"
"Yeah.. you know I'm like really smart, like you, so I understand all the classes already, even though it's two destinies. That's why It gets too boring for me, since I have the lowest talent too.. hehe, but you are something special huh.. labs and all."
"Not much dude. You should see for once. How everyone else is much better than me.. even you may be hehe.. but anyways. I got something special today."
Sam's roommate rummaged through his bags again and picked out a wooden box. He handed it to Sam. "Tada! You know since you do nothing but absorb energies. This might help you more."
Sam immediately sat upright and talked excitedly. "Wow! A wand! Oh my.. You know you didn't have to help me like this dude. No, you know I can't possibly accept this.." Sam said while holding it with his sweaty palms and drooling all over it out of excitement.
"Uh.. I mean it's not much of a problem.. my parents send me extra money you know. And it's not like I got a girl by my side yet, hehe. Since you struggled so much, so I bought it. You don't have to think much, just keep it and think—"
"Ohh thanks. Thanks. Thanks. Yes! I'll keep it. You know it's just the thing I needed. Don't worry, I'll pay you back when I can. You know when I become the best. But thanks dude." Sam was already familiarizing with the wand before he even said thanks, the mana absorption was much faster and easier with the wand, as he couldn't even imagine what it must be like with a whole staff.
"Yeah it's alright. You know, you can ask me for more if you wanted help. But for now, this is all I can do until they send me more money. Hehe.. Well alright then. I'll get back to my reading.. so, keep down on your sleep-talking less tonight. I don't even know what system you keep dreaming about.."
The Roommate got back on the bed with a book. While Sam played around with the wand. 'Did he just say more? Hehe.. maybe I can.. who cares, I'll pay him back when I become the strongest.. I think I'll drop hints for a staff sometimes.. and then maybe a culti—...' Sam thought about how to haggle for more, to the one person whose name he couldn't even remember. It wasn't like he couldn't remember, it was more like he was used to just seeing him as a roommate. But anyways, there he goes, in this helpless situation he selfishly asks for more.. maybe he'll recieve it.
