Serena
Five days in a row, if I successfully bring today to an end it'd be the sixth day I had been hiding away from Zeeland.
"I wonder why you are behaving as if you committed an offense. Celyn groaned and hissed."
"Will you just shut the fuck up? I fired at her. If you hadn't taken control over me, do you think I will have done that?"
She literally hissed and closed the walls between us. I sighed and peeped through the key hole for the fifth time since I dragged myself off my bed.
After the near makeup session with him, I begged Michael to take me back to my prisoner room even as I so much hated the place. I just couldn't take the risk of seeing Zeeland yet. I might have a straight heart attack.
But even as I avoided him, the images and words mostly the ones I said under Celyn's strong grip kept flooding my head making it so uncomfortable to even breathe.
I almost jumped out of my skin when a knock came on the door. I quickly pressed down my ear on the door. No sound.
I took two steps back after making sure the door was locked. There's absolutely no way I was going to open that door not even if my mother climb up from her grave and ordered me to do it.
'I don't think she's going to open the door now Zee. Let's just go back.'
The words filled my head. Wait a second, I definitely didn't hear someone say a word. And it wasn't Celyn either. I heard yet another again.
'I will try convincing her, why don't you return first?'
Michael. I screamed in my mind. Did I just hear Michael's thoughts? Wow. So vampires could read each other's thoughts and the son of a bitch said only through telepathy.
Wait, was there even a difference? Ah, why was I created as a vampire. It would have been great if I was just a full werewolf?
I strained my ears to listen in on more but no words came forth again. Had they gone already? I bent down to peep through the keyhole the same moment the door pushed open sending me to the floor.
I whimpered painfully and looked up ready to fire out my pain only to see Zeeland looking down at me with worried eyes. He stretched out his hand but I quickly stood up on my feet without his help.
"W-What brings you here?" I asked without looking him in the eye.
"What brings me here?" He repeated my question and chuckled. "Last I remembered, this is my house Sena."
Sena? He called me Sena. I cleared my throat and went to sit on my bed.
"So why do you want to see me?"
"Is there a reason why I should not?" He asked almost immediately.
"Of course there is-"
"I knew you've been avoiding me." He Interrupted me making me clamp my mouth shut on realizing he made me admit I've been avoiding him.
"Do you still acknowledge the fact that I'm your husband?"
"I would so much appreciate it if you include the contract aspect. I thank you that you allowed me drink from you the last time and I deeply regret what almost happened between us. I promise it would never happen again and I also apologize."
"Sena!!"
I watched him come sit beside me on the bed. "Do I look like one who hates you?"
"Is that a question I'm supposed to answer?"
"I wouldn't have asked if you are not supposed to answer."
I exhaled sharply. "Well, I can't say your mind but based on how you display your feelings, you don't hate me."
He nodded "Good. Now do you in anyway think I regret what happened between us?"
"As I mentioned before, I'm not in your mind to know that."
"I should answer you then. I...don't in anyway have any regrets about six days ago."
I scoffed. "When I clearly heard the hesitation in your words."
"You are now judging based on my hesitation." He slipped his hand around my waist and just like always he lifted me and placed me on his laps. "Don't you feel you are being too harsh?" He asked.
I swallowed nothing and took my eyes down to look at my fingers. I felt it deep in my body that Celyn would in any moment take control of my darn body. His cold hands on my breasts forced my attention back on him.
Without taking off his eyes he said. "Do you know how hard it is for me to hold back?"
A half confused look took it's position on my face. "Do you know how hard it is to control myself from having you right here and now?"
"You told me not to fall in love with you Zeeland. You said the day I do would be my last yet you keep doing things that will only make me develop feelings for you. How in the whole wide world do you expect me to cope with how you keep touching me? Are you so bent on having my head?"
I tried to stand up from his legs but he wouldn't let go, I tried again to wriggle free but he dragged me forward and hugged me so tight I almost lost consciousness from lack of air.
When I saw my effort to break free wouldn't work, I relaxed a bit and allowed him hugged me for as long as he wished.
"Let's go back to our room." He said immediately I got off his legs.
"A request or an order?"
"Whichever your heart tells you it is." He simply said and pinned me a look.
"What?" I touched my face. "Is there something on my face?"
"I'm waiting for your response." He answered.
"Since it's not an order but a request, you leave me no choice."
"With such response, someone would think I blackmailed you to accept to return back."
"Whatever. I have a question."
"Ask away." He said just as he slid his hand around my waist taking me out of the room.
"That day when you told me about why I wasn't able to read your thoughts when I tried, you mentioned that I could read my fellow vampire's thought. Was it until they gave me access to their thoughts?"
He took away his hand from my waist but didn't answer, he just pressed the floor button of the elevator and folded his hands pretending he didn't hear me.
I waited for the door to close before asking another question. "Then why is it hard for me to read yours?"
"Why are you asking me Sena?" he turned to face me. I looked at him then took my eyes down to the floor.
He took a step forward, I took one backwards. We continued like that till my back hit the wall and there was no more space for me to run to. One more step from him and my chest will be rubbing on him.
"I don't remember telling you that you can read a fellow vampire's thoughts. I only said we can communicate telepathically."
"Stop confusing me Zeeland. You came together with Michael right?"
He didn't answer. "I clearly heard his thoughts when he said something like 'I will try convincing her, why don't you return first' Will you still say vampires can't read each other's thoughts?"
He took one last step forward and leaned down very close to my neck and said. "I won't give you the response you so desperately want to hear Sena. I truthfully answered your question that day so I won't answer anymore of your questions." His breath was so hot against my neck that I could barely swallow down my saliva.
He stepped away and I was grateful from the cold air on the side of my neck. Silence took over until the elevator door ding open. But as I tried to press on, he threw a glare my way shushing me up. Questions filled my head and soul, only if I wasn't born a hybrid, I wouldn't be pleading to know all about the vampires.
With a defeated shoulder, I walked inside the room and sat on the bed. He didn't even look my way as he did whatever he was doing in the room before he stepped out.
"He's handsome at the same time ugly and terrifying."
Celyn said more in a yell than in a gentle way of voicing her realization. I exhaled slowly and gently pressed a finger on my chest.
"He sure is." I mumbled and curled myself on the bed. I laid in that position for a while till I finally gave in to the darkness hovering over my head.
