Jinshen looked at Kai silently for a few moments, staring at him in surprise with a blank expression. Silence fell upon the cave as Kai silently picked at his nose waiting for Jinshen's response.
After a few breaths Jinshen slowly nodded while still trying to wrap his mind around the fact he just got accepted into one of the most dangerous and strongest sects in the murim, one that terrorizes the murim.
"Very well... But where is this Abyssal-"
Before Jinshen could finish his sentence, he was picked up by the back of his collar as Kai slung him over his shoulder and began walking out of the alley. The streets had suddenly emptied, which wasn't a coincidence—his Qi most likely alerted the scholars, who must have gone to inform the guards.
Jinshen kept his mouth shut despite having his pride damaged since he got picked up like a child even though he was a grown man. Kai noticed this as he gave Jinshen a small smirk that revealed his sharp— almost animalistic canines which really solidified Jinshen's desire to be obedient at least for now.
This guy could just take a bite out of me any moment and I couldn't even run away since he's probably faster than me.
Kai continued to nonchalantly carry Jinshen as he left Baiyun and entered the Enlightened Forest, a large forest that was in the middle of Baiyun and the mountainous region. Jinshen looked around the forest, it was a pretty normal one, but there was only one thing strange, there weren't any flowers or any animals.
This area is pretty normal looking.. Wonder why they call it the Enlightened Forest
Kai started jumping from tree branch to tree branch which surprised Jinshen for a moment due to the fact Kai was a very, very large man so the branches should break. Just then Jinshen's eyes glowed a faint blue as he looked at Kai's feet which had a deep crimson Qi on the heels as Jinshen heard Nanomachine's voice which seemed to be even more smug than it previously was.
Master, I have been analyzing your Qi and it's possible pathways, I realized that none of them led to you're eyes so I made one, now you are able to see Qi and other living organism's Qi as well as their Qi pathways.
This confused Jinshen, he had never heard of this technique so he stopped funneling his Qi into his eyes which stopped glowing blue. He took a deep breath before he spoke to Kai, trying his best to think of his words so that he doesn't anger the man.
"Uh... Recruiter... I was wondering if their is a way to make a new Qi pathway or maybe see other people's Qi?"
Kai paused for a moment, stopping on a branch as he turned Jinshen upside down holding him by the ankles with one hand as he grinned, his pinky was still in his nose which was really disgusting Jinshen
Come on! Just stop picking you're nose ya barbarian...
Kai took his pinky out of his nose, dusting it off on the bark of one of the trees as he cleared his throat, trying to play off what he just did as he resumed his travelling, but now he was holding Jinshen upside down, almost tauntingly, wanting him to try and make a move in retaliation.
"Well, it depends, if you're Qi is of higher purity, you could create a new pathway by meditating and using some breathing techniques, and for you're other questions, it's pretty risky ya know, since you'll need a pathway to you're eyes which is very uncommon except in clans who specialize in scouting and stuff. Apart from that, it's not impossible but we at the Demonic Sect, don't care about ya background. We're not gonna leave anything intact else except you're basics. But after ya graduate, ya can learn anything ya want just don't get ya instructors and advisors in trouble."
Jinshen grunted slightly as he was carried upside down, his blood had started to pool in his head and his face was becoming red, but he knew this was a test. A test of whether or not he would complain to his superior or not since in the Demonic Sect, no one helps you except you're brain, you're muscles and you're power.
I was always told, If you were ever in trouble in the Demonic Sect you wouldn't just go to a instructor or anything of that sorts, you would handle you're problems by fighting... A really violent way but it's effective in strengthening people so I don't care. And right now, this guy is an absolute beast of a human so I should be careful.
Jinshen gritted his teeth as he reined in his anger and pride, knowing that it would get him killed if he fought against this man in his current state. He took a deep breath and pursed his lips, his expression turning stoic as he stared blankly at the sky.
I might have gotten as strong as a First Class Disciple.. But this guy might a master in terms of raw strength, who knows what he could do with his Qi... Nanomachine, can you maybe use that 'mathematics' thing to see if I would win against him or not..
Nanomachine remained quiet but the whirring started, a sign that Jinshen had started to recognize as Nanomachine analyzing something or someone, but the whirring was much more slower much to Jinshen's confusion.
The sound is pretty slow.. Maybe it'll take a while to get the results I want.
Meanwhile, Kai stopped at the edge of the forest, in front of the legendary mountainous region which harbored the Demonic Sect. The mountains themselves were insanely high, most of the peaks were above the clouds which surprised Jinshen, who knew of the mountains unnatural height but he didn't expect them to be piercing the clouds.
"The Sky Severing Mountain Range is this area's name, it's legendary mountain range, it's the biggest source of stone and metal in the Murim, but that's not what makes this so famous, what makes this mountain range so famous was that it was rumored to have a mountain that at one point was large enough that it pierced the heavens itself, but just like the Serpent Maw canyon, a Saint had destroyed it. To be precise, it was 800 years ago, The Saint of The Demonic Flame destroyed it, as a show of power and an initiation of war against the other Saints. The Saints just love destroying shit ya know?
Jinshen looked at Kai with surprise in his eyes which slowly melted into a deep contemplative expression, on the other hand Kai was grinning in both pride and smugness.
A Saint? Why are these Saints just running around doing whatever they want?
Nanomachine suddenly interjected in Jinshen's train of thoughts with an opinion of its own, which it seemed to be really proud of.
Master, who would stop them? According to my calculations, they are almost god-like.
Jinshen scoffed since the Nanomachine just stated the most obvious thing in the the world.
Yeah yeah, what are the results? How many times would I win against Zhang Kai?
The Nanomachine paused for a few moments before speaking in a much more taunting tone, one akin to a child.
0, what else did you expect? You got killed 183 times in the 500 simulations I did.
Jinshen just gulped as he felt a small shiver go down his spine as he stared at Kai, who despite his childish and disgusting behavior, was now seeming much, much more scary now that Jinshen realized he stood absolutely no chance.
I really am screwed if I fight this ape..
Kai yawned loudly, unaware of Jinshen's discomfort. Jinshen flinched slightly at Kai's sudden loud sound before he composed himself. Not wanting his brute companion to notice that he was utterly terrified of him.
Kai looked at Jinshen with a small grin that dripped of sadistic amusement before he loosened his grip on Jinshen who immediately breathed a sigh of relief before standing up straight and started following Kai who started walking through a passageway through one of the smaller mountains.
The surroundings were dark and cold, before they slowly started to shift into a much more hot and humid environment before suddenly, Kai pushed Jinshen into a pit where he landed on the scalding hot ground before he immediately stood up, shock and surprise evident in his eyes as he heard Kai yell that wasn't directed at him.
"Hey! I'ma be taking a nap! Try not to make him yell too much!"
Jinshen gulped now that he knew he wasn't alone in this stupid hot pit, he slowly calmed himself as he realized that he was now in the testing area of the Demonic Sect and that the Sect Leader, the Saint of The Grand Marshal Of Demons was watching.
Alright.. It's time to start being serious, I'm inside the heart of the Demonic Sect. Be careful not to die bastard...
