Chapter 18 - Chapter 19: The Top of the Academy

Two years had passed since Oliver first arrived in the Hidden Leaf Village.

Two years of endless training, of mastering his archery, taijutsu, and fūinjutsu. Two years of becoming stronger, of proving himself over and over again in a village that still viewed him as an outsider.

And now, as the final months of the Academy approached, there was no doubt—

Oliver Queen was the top student.

Academy Dominance

Oliver never lost a sparring match.

It didn't matter if it was taijutsu, shuriken throwing, or tactical assessments—he outperformed everyone. Even Sasuke Uchiha, who carried the prestige of his clan, couldn't match Oliver's experience, skill, and mind games.

The instructors took notice. The students whispered about him. Even some of the older shinobi had begun to pay attention.

But Oliver wasn't arrogant. He wasn't here to impress them.

He was here to survive.

The Tests

The Academy had a series of final exams to determine the strongest students. Oliver didn't take most of them seriously—he deliberately held back when it came to things like written exams or basic chakra exercises.

But when it came to combat, tactics, and endurance?

He dominated.

Shuriken Throwing

• He landed every kunai dead center, even hitting moving targets with ease.

• Sasuke, the second-best, could only watch as Oliver broke every Academy record.

Taijutsu Exam

• He fought three students at once and still won without breaking a sweat.

• When the instructors paired him against Sasuke, Oliver toyed with him, dodging every attack before ending the fight in a single move.

Stealth & Evasion

• The students were challenged to escape from an instructor within five minutes.

• Oliver vanished in ten seconds, using fūinjutsu and misdirection to leave behind false trails.

• The instructor admitted later, "I couldn't even sense where he went."

The Will of Fire—A Test Oliver Refused to Take Seriously

One of the final exams was a test of loyalty and belief in the Will of Fire—the philosophy that all shinobi of Konoha were family, bound together by their shared duty.

Oliver didn't believe in it.

He had spent two years watching how the village actually worked.

• The way civilians whispered about him behind his back.

• How certain shops refused to serve him.

• How even some instructors looked at him with suspicion despite his talent.

Konoha wasn't a family. It was a system. A machine that favored those born into the right clans and bloodlines.

But Oliver wasn't foolish. He knew that if he failed this test, he'd be marked as a potential traitor.

So he faked it.

When the instructor asked, "What does the Will of Fire mean to you?"

Oliver put on his best charming, confident face and said, "It means protecting my comrades with everything I have."

The instructor nodded approvingly. The students around him believed it.

Only Lee, Tenten, and Hinata—his true friends—saw the truth in his eyes.

The Consequences of Being the Best

At the end of the exams, the results were announced.

Oliver Queen: Top of the Academy.

Even higher than Sasuke Uchiha.

Even higher than Shino, who aced every written test.

Even higher than the children of noble clans.

And for that, the village resented him even more.

He could see it in their eyes. The way some parents whispered to their children, warning them not to get close to him. The way certain instructors looked disappointed, as if they had wanted Sasuke to be the best.

But Oliver didn't care.

Let them hate him.

He wasn't here for their approval.

He was here to become unstoppable.
