While the third Yardratian began retelling his story, Bosa felt the number of eyes watching him dwindle.
"And that was how I learned the perfect clone technique…"
Bosa looked over in the direction he felt the gazes coming from. He smiled and waved.
"Oh, who's over there?"
"I felt like King Kai was watching, so I said hi."
"You… Felt the Kai's gaze? Interesting… Perhaps you're ready to learn the first Spirit Control Technique."
Bosa's eyes lit up with great interest. "REALLY!" he pumped his fists in his childish excitement.
"Yep, though, it's difficult to tell the difficulty level of some of these abilities."
Bosa looked a little confused and tilted his head. "What do you mean? Is it like, just different from person to person, or something like that? Or is it that no one can agree on which is more advanced than the others?"
"Hmm, well, I'll list off some abilities, you tell me which ones you think are harder than the others. Sound good?"
Bosa nodded. "Yep, my mommy said I was really smart, so this'll be fun!"
"Pfft, alright, tell me in the order of easiest to hardest: Instant Transmission, Cloning which makes perfect clones, Gigantification, Healing, and then Forced Spirit Fission."
Bosa floated in the air, crossing his legs, and then flipped upside down. He made motions like he was thinking extremely hard about this. "If I were to answer in the way you asked, I feel that's not the right way to order them. But from a master's perspective, and assuming the names are indicative of the effects… I'd go with the order you just told them to me-"
The youngest of the Yardratians laughed. "See that, even the newbie got it right. I knew my generation had it right."
The eldest of the Yardratians chuckled at the slight arrogance of his junior. "Oh be quiet, you didn't let the boy finish his thoughts on the matter."
Bosa chuckled. "Just because I said it that way, doesn't mean that it's the same for teaching it to someone else. In order of easiest to hardest to learn: Gigantification definitely comes first, along with its counterpart minification. Next would have to be an imperfect clone, then Instant Transmission, then perfect clones, then Healing, and finally Forced Spirit Fission."
The Elder laughed. "There you are. You even saw through the disguise of the question itself, even finding the hidden steps in between."
The second eldest, chuckled. "That's quite good, young Bosa. I'm impressed. It's true that once one learns the principles in the order you just layed out, they will complete their training far more easily. Taking it step by step is always the best path. It is also true that once you've mastered all of the abilities, the order of ease changes quite a bit. You'll go far."
"The younger generations have taken things a different way, but it isn't as if it doesn't work. Now then, let's begin teaching you the gigantification."
Bosa began his lessons on Gigantification. Though his time was limited, he put his all into the training. It was a sight to behold. His training ethic was great. Reminiscent of the turtle school, though the whole rest part was ignored for now, this was because he never once even looked tired, let alone felt as much. That was the effect of training in the otherworld, no one tired unless they wanted to tire. Otherwise it was impossible to grow exhausted, the recovery rate was simply just that high.
It was during this time that the four cardinal directional Kais witnessed Bosa's training. Though, they did manage to keep themselves from staring.
South Kai, the tallest among them, was caught watching a bit more closely. "Hmm, he might actually manage to pull it off. He just refuses to get tired."
East Kai, in agreement, gave her signature chuckle. "Oh ho ho, perhaps I should take him for myself. What do you say, North Kai?"
King Kai blurted out. "NO WAY! Bosa is my student, I found him first and that means he's my responsibility."
West Kai, with his ever burning rivalry, snickered. "Oh don't be like that northy. It's not that big of a deal. Let's do a rotation every year or so? How about that?"
King Kai was about to blurt out an answer… No wait, hold on a minute here. That could actually work. He isn't going to be here for the full year anyway. Oh ho, this'll be funny. "Fine, you can help him learn more about the Kai's and the responsibilities we have. But only while he is here in the otherworld, understand?"
The other three Kais huddled, whispering among themselves. "Alright, that works." Heh, he's dead, he can't leave the Otherworld if he wanted to. Not without the permission only granted to us Kais.
These idiots, they don't even know about the dragon balls. And to think I showed them what they were earlier too. Oh this is too good.
Back with Bosa, several hours later, he had managed to grasp the technique. He was now the size of a dinosaur. And every motion he made caused a gust to spawn. However, he noticed that his power hadn't grown with his body.
"So, even though I grew, it doesn't change my combat strength… Then…"
Bosa returned to normal size, and then shrunk himself down by the same magnitude.
"Neither did this. SO COOL!"
Bosa returned to his original size with a big smile. And one of the metamoress came up.
"Hey there, do you want to learn the fusion dance? I'm sure you could learn it rather quickly."
Bosa looked at the guy with a curious look, then crossed his arms and thought about it again. "It does sound cool, but I think I should stick with mastering one art form then another. If I master one completely I'll have more experience in how to master things. So…" He started poking his finger tips together in an adorable fashion. "Could I take you up on that offer another time?"
"Ahahaha! Of course. And when you do come back, we should spar a bit too. I'll look forward to it."
"You've got yourself a deal!"
"Bosa, it's time to return. We've got a lot of training to do."
"Coming Master King Kai!" Bosa turned to the Yardratians and the other warriors. "Thank you! Have fun sparring! I'll tell my papa you're all super nice!"
King Kai and Bosa vanished, teleporting back to King Kai's planet.
