[Location: Aerie Tutorial Tower - Floor 9]
At the present time, a young man who appeared to be in his early twenties could currently be seen standing within an area that looked to be a rather lush forest. HIs expression firm and a small drop of sweat running down the side of his face.
The male wasn't anything flashy in terms of appearance, but he was certainly within the category of being attracted. With a somewhat pale complexion, an athletic physique, and a head of smooth raven-black hair that went well with his sharp silver eyes.
In terms of attire, it wasn't anything special. He was currently dressed in a simple white t-shirt, a pair of sleek long black pants, white running shoes, and a dark-grey hoodie with white accents that he currently had tied around his waist.
In front of him was a small humanoid pokemon, with a white body and a head of green hair in a bowl cut style. There were also strangely two flat red horns on the top of its head, the front one being larger than the one on the back.
"Ralts, blast them away with Disarming Voice!"
Soon after that command was issued by the young man, Ralts released a powerful series of pink-colored soundwaves from its mouth that blew through the air before striking an incoming group of relatively small side pokemon.
The waves were powerful enough to immediately stop the incoming group in their tracks, and before they could gain a proper footing, they were all sent flying back from the attack before slamming against the trees.
One by one, they all dropped to the ground unconscious before their bodies suddenly turned into countless pixels that floated up before disappearing completely.
"Alright, I think this floor has been cleared." Colten, or more commonly referred to as Colt, smiled as he wiped the sweat off of his face. Ralts teleported onto his shoulder before giving the male a smile. "With this floor done, the next will be our most difficult battle yet. So, get ready."
Ralts nodded its head in understanding as a firm expression appeared under its bangs.

[Proceed to the next floor? (Respite) (Floor 10)]
[Quit tower? (Yes) (No)]
This notification soon appeared in front of Colt, though the male didn't react surprised in any way, he had seen it pop up multiple times now after all. Just as he was about to press one of the options, Colt frowned in thought.
"Respite? That option wasn't available for any of the other floors." Colt muttered to himself after noticing the additional option at the bottom. "Floor 10 should be the boss, and I have no idea how strong it is. Some rest wouldn't hurt, even if we're not that tired."
Without hesitation, Colt pressed his finger onto the option labeled 'Respite'
Together with Ralts, Colt's body soon turned to particles like the pokemon before. In practically an instant, he soon found himself materializing in a new location. Looking around, Colt widened his eyes a bit.
The place he arrived in was a relatively simple but large resting room with couches, a dispenser for water, and even a large body of water most likely for water-types. Although nothing grand, had everything needed for a quick rest, aside from food.

"Only five minutes of rest, huh?" Colt sighed as he got himself a cup of water, and another for Ralts who had already sat down on one of the couches. "Not much, but at least it's way better than a freaking minute."
He had noticed that after each floor, he'd be given a minute before he was forcefully teleported to the next floor. There was also a thirty-minute time limit for floor as well, and while he didn't know what would happen if he hadn't completed said floor within that time frame, he had no intention of finding out.
With a sigh, Colt dropped onto the couch next to Ralts before handing the latter the second cup of water. Colt then raised his hand before swiping it in a downwards motion, prompting a second holographic screen to appear.
____________
[Mission]
- Primary Objective: Clear the first 10 Floors of the Aerie Tower (Progress: 9/10)
- Mission Issued Supplies: [Master's Pokedex]
Reward(s):
- Rogue Tower System
- Master's Starter Pack (Contents depend on chosen starter)
____________
This was the mission he had been issued, though instead of calling it a mission, it was more appropriate to call it an initiation. Like most reincarnators, Colt was given a cheat-like ability in the form of a system, the only difference was that he needed to prove himself.
That was how he ended up here climbing a tower while battling various pokemon, and although was proving to be rather exhausting, was certainly worth it. After all, he was now able to actually command a pokemon in battle.
For someone who lived in a world where pokemon were simply creatures of fiction, the opportunity to actually raise and bond with a pokemon was something he wasn't going to let go to waste. Any other pokemon fan would kill him otherwise for being an idiot!
Ralts, that was the starter he had chosen. The system was rather nice about it too, he could choose some basic things like the nature and even gender of his starter. In other words, the system let him decide, to a certain degree, how his pokemon would be cultivated for the future.
"Let's see here..." Colt looked towards Ralts, who was currently peacefully sipping away at its water cup, before he tapped on a strange red and black ear-piece on his right ear. 'Let's see how much stronger Ralts has gotten so far.'
This ear piece was the unique pokedex issued to him for this mission, or known as the Master's Pokedex according to the system. As soon as he tapped on it, a transparent beam of light scanned over Ralts's body before disappearing as the pokedex then projected a holographic screen of information.

____________
The Master's Pokedex provided much more information compared to the traditional pokedex given to trainers in the anime, but Colt had obviously noticed some major differences that weren't present in any of the variations of pokemon.
Example being the Potential, which he assumed related to the level cap that he saw present next to Ralts's current level. On top of that, regarding Ralts in particular, the moveset, stats, and even ability were different.
Ralts had a move called Psionic Siege, which Colt was certain wasn't an official move, at least from what he was aware. Along with the ability Martial Drive, which seemed to essentially be an overpowered version of Defiant.
The reason for such things could only be related to the system itself.
Colt wasn't too surprised about the learning of moves not correlating with what he was aware of, this was the real world now after all, he couldn't completely depend on game data to stabilize his standing in the world.
Finally, regarding the stats themselves, Ralts was obviously far stronger than a level 12 Ralts ever should be. It was also due to these exaggerated stats that the pokemon they've encountered proved to be of very little threat, their slight fatigue mainly being due to the environments they had to traverse on each floor.
The only conclusion, and most likely the correct one, that he could make was that it was related to the letters next to each parameter.
He had played games in the past that had similar systems in regards to stats, may it be other monster taming games or something else. The easiest way to think of it was probably as genetics, different members of the same race may differ due to personal genes.
That aside, just by looking at the information provided, you could probably see the path that he wanted Ralts to go through. Before you weirdos say anything, no, he did not intend for Ralts to turn into a trap.
Perhaps he may be among the minority, but he personally always preferred gallade over gardevoir. He liked them both, but he personally preferred gallade. Although he was pretty sure most preferred gardevoir, and many for the wrong reasons.

"Alright, we don't know how strong the boss on Floor 10 is, Ralts." Colt spoke as he hopped up from the couch, chugging down the rest of the water he had. "We don't really know anything, but as long as we're careful, we can do this."
Ralts nodded his head with a small cry before teleporting off the couch and onto Colt's shoulder, the water cup he had been drinking had also teleported onto the coffee table in front of the couches.
Taking a deep breath, Colt watched as the remaining time ticked away.
