BLACK SQUAD – EPISODE 95
Title: "The Fall of the Logician"
Genre: Legal Crime Thriller / Psychological Drama
---
COLD OPEN – 2:00 AM – MORGUE, MUMBAI
A forensic report is being typed.
The screen shows:
Case No. 4321: Dhiraj Nene – Died in Police Encounter (2021)
Suddenly — the screen is closed by a gloved hand.
Cut to: A woman files a petition in court.
Her voice:
> "My name is Anika Nene. My brother was murdered by Imran Wani. This wasn't justice. This was execution."
Fade to BLACK.
---
ACT 1: A PERFECT STORM
Scene: Sessions Court, Mumbai
Imran is summoned for unlawful killing during a 2021 operation, before the Black Squad was formed.
The victim: Dhiraj Nene, a reputed cybercriminal accused of child pornography and blackmail.
The case had been closed as a justified encounter.
But now, Anika presents new evidence.
Charges Filed:
Section 302 IPC – Murder
Section 365 – Abduction
Tampering with digital evidence
Imran is placed under house arrest. The media attacks.
---
ACT 2: THE EVIDENCE THAT SHOULDN'T EXIST
Anika's lawyer: Advocate Kunal Rawal, a brutal courtroom tactician.
He presents:
Metadata showing Dhiraj was in custody 3 hours before the encounter FIR says.
CCTV from a traffic cam showing Imran's private car used that night — not a police vehicle.
Imran's personal laptop had a folder on Dhiraj — full of pictures of victims.
Imran says nothing in court.
---
ACT 3: THE SILENCE THAT SCREAMS
Qazi and Arjun are disturbed by Imran's calm.
Qazi:
> "Why aren't you defending yourself?"
Imran:
"Because… what if they're right?"
In flashback:
We see how Imran hunted Dhiraj.
How he broke protocol.
How he found a video — of a girl from his home district in Kashmir.
He snapped. Brought Dhiraj in quietly. Confronted him.
And when Dhiraj laughed in his face, saying:
> "You think you're justice? You're just another wolf."
Imran shot him.
---
ACT 4: THE MORAL GREY
Reet and Zoya look into Dhiraj's case files again.
They find deleted server backups with unreleased footage — showing victims, including underage girls, brutally abused.
Imran had found this earlier.
He didn't tell anyone.
Why?
Because he knew the system would let Dhiraj walk — his political links ran deep.
And Imran made the call.
---
ACT 5: TRIAL DAY – THE CONFESSION
Imran takes the stand.
Says clearly:
> "Yes, I killed Dhiraj Nene. And I did it because I knew no one else would. I broke the law. I made a judgment. I stand by it."
Silence in courtroom.
Then — a twist.
Qazi brings a classified order signed by then DCP Shamsher Singh:
> "Dhiraj Nene is to be taken into custody with extreme caution. If resistance is shown, Lethal Force is Authorized."
Backdated. But valid.
Combined with Dhiraj's brutal evidence cache — the judge declares:
> "The court absolves Senior Inspector Imran Wani of all criminal liability.
But it cautions him. For justice must never be personal."
---
EPILOGUE – IMRAN'S DESK
He returns to HQ.
Everyone claps. But Imran doesn't smile.
He takes off his badge. Places it on the table.
Arjun:
> "Leaving?"
Imran:
"No. But for a moment there… I almost became the criminal I was chasing."
Qazi replies:
> "That's what makes you different. You remembered. That's why you'll always return."
They walk out — three trials survived. A squad reborn, scarred and purified.
