Chapter 7 - Problem

The moment I opened the small furnace on my desk, a pill the size of a grape floated in midair.

At first, the teacher in my class didn't know what kind of pill I had created.

But after touching it, zhe wondered—could it be that the pill I crafted was of high quality?

Without hesitation, my teacher swallowed the pill without even thinking twice.

Unexpectedly, several students in the classroom began to sense a massive surge of spiritual energy radiating from her body.

Even the sky above Jinshi High School appeared to form a pillar of golden light.

"Oh... What is this? This is amazing! I've broken through a minor realm in my cultivation! Student Han... No! Grandmaster Han! Please, give us some guidance!"

For a moment, confusion appeared on the faces of the other students.

They didn't understand why their teacher was suddenly showing so much respect toward me.

Unfortunately, just as they were wondering if their teacher had gone mad…

I stood up from my seat without saying a word.

"I need to use the restroom..."

"The restroom...? Oh... Please, go ahead..."

Honestly, at first, the teacher thought I was about to give her some pointers.

But who would've thought I genuinely just needed permission to pee?

"..."

By the way, our class representative's teacher is named Feng Xue.

To explain briefly, I know that Teacher Feng Xue is one of the most talented instructors at Jinshi Academy.

I also know that Teacher Feng Xue is, in fact, an alchemist by profession.

However, I have no idea why she chose to teach students at Jinshi High School.

I can only guess that Principal Ji is the one who convinced Teacher Feng Xue to teach here.

If not for him, I doubt anyone else could have persuaded an alchemist to teach at their school.

"Um... Teacher Xue... what about our assignment? Aren't you going to check it?"

"Ahem! My apologies. I was just a bit surprised after breaking through a small realm. Alright, let's continue with the lesson."

In the end, Teacher Xue had no choice. She knew she couldn't just stop teaching in front of all her students.

Looking around, she noticed that some of them were still confused about what had just happened.

Because of that, Teacher Xue understood that she had to carry on with the lesson as if nothing had happened.

"Everyone, return to your seats! The class continues!"

"Y-Yes, Teacher!"

...

Inside one of the men's restrooms, I overheard a conversation I wasn't supposed to hear.

From what I gathered, two of them were assassins.

I was curious—why were they targeting Sun Xinxin?

As far as I could remember, there was no way Sun Xinxin could have provoked such dangerous people.

But considering they were assassins, maybe they were hired?

Otherwise, why else would they be talking about killing Sun Xinxin?

At first, I wanted to ignore their murder plot.

But then, I remembered the favor Sun Xinxin had done for me.

"Hah... I have no choice. My benefactor is in danger. As a decent person, I can't just ignore her kindness."

Without hesitation, I gently closed my eyes.

Deep in my heart, I focused on detecting any assassins within a few hundred meters.

And sure enough, I was right.

As I released my spiritual energy, I sensed the presence of a sniper perched on top of a building.

"Consider yourself lucky... I won't kill you. But I will save this girl named Sun..."

In less than a few seconds, I walked out of the restroom.

Judging by the reactions of the two men standing outside, they didn't even notice me.

That only made sense if I had activated my stealth ability.

Otherwise, it would've been impossible for two Nascent Soul-level cultivators to fail to detect me.

Regardless, I knew I was doing this for Sun Xinxin's sake.

From the start, I never intended to expose my presence.

No matter what, I didn't plan to fall into an assassin's trap.

Besides, it was my first day at Jinshi High School.

I remembered clearly how worried my parents were about me.

Maybe that's why I didn't want to give them any reason to worry even more.

Glaze—

My gaze shifted toward one of the skyscrapers, and instinctively, my expression turned serious.

I realized the man near the rooftop had just taken aim with his weapon.

And sure enough, the moment he fired at Sun Xinxin—

I flicked my finger slightly, forming a protective barrier around the classroom.

Snap!

Unexpectedly, the bullet fired by the sniper bounced back right in front of him.

Perhaps he thought he had successfully killed Sun Xinxin.

But to his surprise, the bullet he fired returned straight toward him.

Luckily for him, the sniper was a cultivator at the peak of the Core Formation Stage.

If not, he might not have survived a bullet wound to the head.

Drip—

"Ow...! I didn't expect the Sun family's daughter to be protected by a high-level expert! My forehead... Thank goodness it's not too deep," the sniper groaned, feeling a bullet embedded in his forehead.

Fortunately, he had enveloped his body with spiritual energy beforehand.

Thanks to that, he managed to survive the very attack he had unleashed.

Even so, a part of him now wanted to know—who was protecting Sun Xinxin?

Looking at the situation at Jinshi Academy, he could tell no one else was helping the Sun family's daughter.

Still, he knew he couldn't waste any more time.

So the sniper decided to call for reinforcements.

"Send backup. Someone's protecting the Sun family's daughter. My shot failed. I'll leave the rest to you guys."

"Failed? Alright... Good job. You go rest. We'll take care of the rest."

Targeting—

Suddenly, I felt the presence of five more snipers.

They weren't any different from the first one.

But so what? I had no intention of backing down.

That's why I would never abandon my resolve to protect Sun Xinxin.

"Do your best... I gave you all a chance, but you wasted it. I won't hold back anymore."

Truly, I had made up my mind—I would kill all six snipers on the rooftops.

For now, I knew I didn't need to rush.

Without delay, I slightly strengthened the protective barrier around the school.

And when the five new snipers fired at Sun Xinxin, their attacks were instantly redirected.

Judging by their counterattacks, there was no way they could dodge what was coming.
