Third person point of view
Aravind smiled thinking about the date. He suddenly sat up. He forgot that he needed to look for an outfit. He got up and started looking through his clothes. He didn't know what would be appropriate. " Should I put effort or not ? " He picked up his phone again and looked it up. ' How to dress up for first date '.
After reading them all, the answer he came up with was to be confident in what you are wearing. " Confidence... now that's difficult ". He chuckled and looked for the pant first. He found some dress pants, but didn't pick them. They were totally not a good choice. He then looked for the jeans he had.
He held two of them in each of his hands. One was the usual blue jeans and the other was faded blue jeans with a bit of loose fit. " Let's choose based on the shirt ". He decided to pick the jeans which he will be able to match with a shirt. He looked through the t-shirts. He took out a white long sleeve t-shirt and a light blue short sleeve button up shirt.
He remembered he got it along with the forest green shirt back then. He put them both on his bed thinking about which to choose. He thought back to when he dressed up in that shirt and how Dev liked it a lot. " Well... a safe option versus a challenge. I am not a challenger so let's pick this ". He put the pair of jeans and shirt on the bed and the other things back in the closet.
He put it away and went back into the living room. He saw Atharva walking out looking like a flood refugee. He blinked twice. " Did you get drunk again ? " Aravind asked and Atharva only gave a sigh. He went and sat at the table. Aravind went into the kitchen and picked up a cup. He checked and the milk was still warm.
He poured some in the cup. He then picked up the decoction and added it to the milk. And lastly he added some sugar. He put a spoon in it. He stirred it and took the cup with him. He put it in front of Atharva. He sat down opposite him and watched the show. Atharva stirred it and then took a sip. He finally came back to his senses.
He let out a sigh in content. Aravind chuckled. Atharva finished the cup and he looked like his soul came back. Aravind put the cup away along with his own. Atharva rested his head on the table. Aravind tutted at his state. " Shouldn't have drank so much. Who told you to suffer like this ? " Atharva looked up.
" Do I look like I want to ? I tried not to but that manager fellow didn't let me be. He is a nice guy but at times like this, there is no choice ". Aravind let out a sigh and shook his head. " Want a tablet ? " Atharva shook his head. " It will be fine in a while ". Aravind nodded. " Fine ". Atharva then told him about all the drama in his office which Aravind enjoyed listening.
Their mother soon started cooking lunch and Aravind helped her around a little. They had lunch together and cleaned up. Aravind went to his room and saw his phone. There weren't any messages from Dev. He scrolled through twitter for a while. He then put it for charging and picked up his laptop.
He opened YouTube and wasted time. When it was 2:45, he got up and went to take a quick bath. He walked out and dressed up. He didn't feel like styling his hair. He took a head bath that morning, so he just made sure it wasn't too unruly. He picked up his phone and wallet putting them in his pockets.
He also picked up a mask. He walked out and noticed Atharva and his mother sitting on the sofa. " I am going out. I will let you know if I will come for dinner or not ". His mother nodded. " Make sure to come back early ". Aravind nodded. " You have enough money ? " Atharva asked and Aravind thought for a second.
" I think I do. If not I will call you ". Atharva nodded. Aravind walked out and Dev was not yet there. He waited on the side for Dev. He took out his phone to text but heard the gate opening. He saw Dev drive his bike out. Aravind stared at him without blinking. Dev was dressed in light blue jeans; black button up shirt with his sleeves rolled up and matched them with converse.
He put the bike to the side and closed the gate. He then came up to Aravind. Aravind was still dazed. " Did you wait for long ? " Aravind blinked. " Ah ? " Dev was confused. " What happened ? " Aravind looked away and shook his head. " Nothing ". Dev frowned. " I asked if you are waiting for a while ". Aravind shook his head again. " I also came out just now ".
" Fine. Let's go ". Dev got on the bike and gave the helmet to Aravind. Aravind put it on and got on. Dev turned the key and drove away. Aravind looked at Dev's reflection in the mirror. The moment when he just saw him was something he never saw. The way Dev looked and the way his eyes shined when he saw Aravind was definitely something new.
Aravind noticed that Dev even styled his hair well. He did like being neat so it was always nice but today Aravind could say he put effort to look this charming. He locked eyes with Dev through the mirror and immediately looked away. Dev smiled and glanced again but Aravind moved his face away.
