And so, the decision was made with satisfaction.
By this time, Ye Wen had completed extracting and deleting Tang Chen's memories.
Now, Tang Chen's soul was as clean as a blank sheet of paper, ready to be rewritten or altered at will. Truly, god-level power in this world was as unreasonable as ever.
(A/N: The Fusion Goddess Tang Wu Tong commented that this was all basic stuff—even if a soul was sliced apart, it could still function normally.)
Carefully storing away Tang Chen's soul, Ye Wen began reviewing his memories.
Don't misunderstand—Ye Wen wasn't interested in Tang Chen's personal memories, like those of his wife.
Tang Chen's true value lay in his mastery of forging techniques and the two divine skills he had created: Self-Detonating Rings and the Great Sumeru Hammer.
After examining them, Ye Wen was quite satisfied. These were indeed worthy of being called divine techniques. Though Self-Detonating Rings was a self-destructive skill that went against the rules of the world and carried significant side effects, its sheer power when used was undeniable.
Unfortunately, the petty Asura God hadn't shared the specific crafting techniques of the Asura Demon Sword with Tang Chen.
All Tang Chen could do was forge the sword's base on his own, then implant the divine power seed provided by the Asura God to complete the sword.
Hmm…
Asura God, no wonder you're ostracized in the god realm—you're stingy to the extreme. It's no surprise you chose Tang San as your next successor; both of you are selfish to the core.
Is it because the more someone resembles you, the easier they are to control?
At this moment, a group of soul masters arrived nearby.
When the Six Directions Seal Absolute was shattered earlier, the surrounding soul masters had been startled. They were well aware of Ye Wen's status within the Spirit Hall.
If anything had happened to Ye Wen, even their lives as Title Douluos wouldn't have been spared.
"Salutations, Your Eminence."
The leader of the group bowed deeply, visibly relieved that this formidable figure was unharmed.
Ye Wen waved his hand dismissively. He had essentially achieved all his objectives for this trip.
Glancing at the ruins of the City of Slaughter, Ye Wen thought for a moment and said,
"Arrange some people to clean up the ruins of the City of Slaughter and see if there's anything valuable left. I'll head back first, and I'll leave this place in your hands.
Make sure to clear it out quickly—I still have plans for this area. Once you're done, report to the Spirit Hall."
"Yes, Your Eminence. We won't disappoint you."
The leading soul master was particularly excited.
He knew the significance of the City of Slaughter, and cleaning up such a place was a lucrative task. Every year, the Spirit Hall and the two empires poured countless resources into it.
While he wouldn't dare keep the top-tier treasures for himself, the leftovers would still be more than enough to make him rich beyond measure.
That is, assuming he could stomach the bloody, disgusting scenes beneath the ruins.
With Tang Xiao, a Title Douluo, flying ahead to guide the way, Tang San and his group quickly returned to the Star Luo Empire.
At this moment, Tang San radiated an aura that warned others to keep their distance. Along the way, he kept sizing up Tang Xiao.
Through Tang Hao's introduction, Tang San learned that this man was his eldest uncle.
And not just any ordinary elder—he was a Super Douluo with a cultivation level of 97.
However, Tang San didn't pay much attention to this. After all, he currently had several Buddha's Wrath Tang Lian hidden on him.
A mere Title Douluo? Even the King of Slaughter had fallen victim to his schemes—why should he care about another one?
Still, blood ties gave Tang San some initial goodwill toward Tang Xiao.
But this goodwill quickly evaporated.
Along the way, after hearing Tang Hao's explanation, Tang San finally understood the origins of his hammer martial soul. At first, his emotions were mixed, and he was furious about how the sect had treated his father.
But when he learned that Tang Hao had openly shared the Self-Detonating Rings and Great Sumeru Hammer, which were supposed to be passed down exclusively to him, with the sect's Title Douluo elders and even his eldest uncle, Tang San snapped.
Without thinking, Tang San blurted out, "Father, how could you be so foolish? How could you casually pass on such ultimate sect techniques?"
To finally enjoy the benefits of being part of the sect's main lineage, only to lose them immediately?!
Tang San's first thought was whether his powerful uncle, who had a cultivation level of 97, had coerced his father into doing this.
Tang San already felt distant from this unfamiliar relative, and now their relationship plummeted to an icy low.
Fortunately, this was a private conversation, and Tang Xiao didn't overhear it.
Otherwise, Tang Xiao might have grown resentful toward this nephew. How could you think so poorly of me? Don't you know I'm the one who saved your father?
Tang Hao remained unfazed by Tang San's reaction.
"Little San, calm down. I know these sect techniques shouldn't be casually passed on, but the situation on the Douluo Continent has changed drastically since you entered the City of Slaughter. Listen carefully to what I have to say."
Instilled with the traditional values of loyalty to heaven, country, family, and teacher, Tang San listened quietly to Tang Hao's explanation.
The once-great Three Great Clans had become namesakes only. The Tian Dou Empire had fallen, and the Spirit Hall now controlled half of the Douluo Continent, establishing the Holy Spirit Empire. All of this had occurred in just four short years, leaving Tang San utterly stunned.
"This… this…" Tang San's mind was a jumbled mess after hearing all of this.
Though he no longer feared Title Douluos, facing enemies across most of the Douluo Continent left him feeling utterly powerless, unsure of what to do.
Although he was upset that the sect's ultimate techniques had been shared with the elders, Tang San realized it was the most pragmatic choice after weighing the pros and cons. If the Star Luo Empire truly fell, given his connection to the Hao Tian Sect, he would undoubtedly be targeted during the Spirit Hall's subsequent purges.
After all, his family had played a key role in the death of the previous pope—there was no way they'd be spared.
Tang Hao continued rambling on.
"Little San, for now, go stay with your aunt and work on dissipating the murderous aura around you to avoid going astray in your cultivation. When the time is right, I'll take you to the Sea God Island to seek refuge."
At this point, Tang San was only half-listening to Tang Hao's future plans.
No matter how powerful the Buddha's Wrath Tang Lian was, Tang San knew the treachery of human nature. He couldn't afford to reveal it recklessly, or his current cultivation level wouldn't be enough to protect him.
Even though he had already reached the Soul Emperor level, Tang San still felt incredibly powerless.
Get stronger!
A sense of urgency surged within Tang San, and his gaze gradually hardened.
"Father, I want to hunt for my sixth spirit ring."
Upon hearing this, Tang Hao paused and sensed his child's cultivation level.
In just four years, Tang San had broken through from Soul Elder to Soul Emperor!
An 18-year-old Soul Emperor! Tang Hao was astonished. He had originally thought that Tang San reaching levels 55–56 as a Soul King would already be impressive, but this far exceeded his expectations.
Overcome with emotion, Tang Hao patted Tang San on the back. At this rate, Tang San was guaranteed to become a Super Douluo in the future.
At this moment, Tang Hao firmly believed that even if all the members of the Star Luo branch of the Hao Tian Sect perished, as long as his child was safe on the Sea God Island, the future revival of the Hao Tian Sect was assured.
