Chapter 126 - Chapter 125: The War Begins

After a night of rest, the final moment had arrived.

In the center of the desert, a platform had been set up, holding the device that would activate the Tesseract.

Dr. Erik Selvig was making final adjustments to the equipment. Tony placed the Tesseract into the device and said, "Doctor, once it's activated, get out of here immediately! Got it?"

Dr. Selvig nodded to show he understood.

Tony took a deep breath and shouted, "Start it up!"

The device powered on, emitting a strong blue glow.

Seeing this, Dr. Selvig shouted, "It's fully activated!" Then, he turned and quickly got into a waiting car, which sped off into the distance.

Soon, a massive blue beam shot into the sky, opening an enormous portal. Through the portal, glimpses of gigantic warships could be seen.

"Everyone, get ready! The war has begun!" Tony said before taking off into the air.

From the portal, swarms of Chitauri soldiers poured out. Anyone with a fear of crowded spaces would have had a panic attack just looking at them.

Yang Tao immediately summoned Charizard and activated its Gigantamax form.

As soon as Pokémon leave my world, they become normal Pokémon. Yang Tao immediately ordered an attack on the Chitauri and stopped paying attention.

Yang Tao soared into the sky, wielding the Enma Blade and slashing at the countless Chitauri swarming above. The sharp blade emitted a dark aura, and every Chitauri struck by it turned into a dried-up husk before shattering upon hitting the ground.

The quantum suit moved incredibly fast. The only thing visible was a streak of white light flashing back and forth in the sky, followed by waves of Chitauri falling.

Even so, many enemies still charged toward the people on the ground. Dr. Banner transformed into the Hulk and kept picking up debris to hurl at the airborne enemies.

Yang Tao continued his relentless assault in midair. Whether it was the influence of the Enma Blade or the natural beast inside every man being unleashed, he felt no discomfort at the sight of such carnage. Perhaps it was because he knew the Chitauri weren't truly intelligent beings.

Just then, a massive pillar of fire shot toward the portal, instantly turning countless Chitauri to ash, their equipment melting away in the heat.

A gigantified Charizard had wiped out more enemies with a single move than everyone else combined. However, because of its enormous size, most of the Chitauri began targeting it.

Charizard kept spewing flames into the sky, causing heavy casualties among the enemy forces.

At that moment, massive whale-like creatures floated out of the portal, defying gravity as they swam through the air. Their armor was incredibly tough—these were the Chitauri's warships, the Leviathans.

One after another, Chitauri Leviathans emerged from the portal, unleashing relentless firepower on the battlefield.

Just then, a swarm of missiles streaked across the sky, leaving white trails behind them before crashing directly into the Leviathans, erupting into massive explosions.

China's military reinforcements had arrived. Fighter jets swooped through the battlefield, dealing significant damage. The Chitauri's small aircraft weren't fast enough to threaten the jets.

Each time a Leviathan appeared, long-range missiles would soon follow, striking their massive bodies with precision.

The battle reached a stalemate. The enemy forces seemed endless, continuously pouring in.

Yang Tao had lost count of how many enemies he had slain with the Enma Blade. Just then, a pained roar echoed across the battlefield—Charizard, having taken too much damage, reached its limit. It vanished into a red flash, returning to its Poké Ball.

With Charizard gone, the most eye-catching figure on the battlefield was no longer Yang Tao but Whitebeard. His towering six-meter frame was impossible to miss. Laughing loudly, he used Moonwalk to fly through the air, swinging his massive Murakumogiri. Each flying slash cleared out waves of Chitauri soldiers.

Enemy attacks were completely ineffective against him, all blocked by his Armament Haki.

His kill rate wasn't much slower than Yang Tao's—the only reason Yang Tao seemed faster was because of his sheer speed.
