"It's almost over!"
Yang Tao flew straight toward the plateau, heading for the floating city of giants.
Instead of following the usual process of searching for magic beans in the troll cave below, he simply soared into the sky.
Before long, he reached the clouds, where two types of giants lived—one wielding stone swords and the other carrying stone pickaxes.
They weren't the final boss—just the gatekeepers standing in his way.
Yang Tao pulled out his bow and shot arrows at the giants. They moved very slowly and didn't have much health, so he quickly took down two of them. He grabbed the giant swords and pickaxes they dropped and ran off.
The giant hut above kept spawning more giants, and they only dropped those two items, so there was no point in fighting them! After getting the giant pickaxe, he went straight to the area below the clouds and started digging into the troll cave underneath. The dark environment inside was crawling with monsters.
Yang Tao struggled to clear them out. "These are way harder to fight than the giants!" That just showed how weak the giants were.
After searching the dark cave for a while, Yang Tao finally found a small block made of obsidian. This was the place where he was supposed to get the magic bean.
He took out his tool and started digging. Before long, he broke through the obsidian. "Since I'm already here, I might as well take it as a souvenir! Who knows when I'll be back?"
He grabbed the colorful magic bean from the chest and put it in his backpack before continuing his search.
Before long, he found what he was looking for—a huge structure made of obsidian, similar to the smaller one from earlier. It also had a treasure chest inside!
However, this giant obsidian could only be broken with the giant pickaxe, which was why he had to fight the giants first.
Yang Tao mined all of the giant obsidian and took it with him, thinking it might be useful later.
He pulled out his latest loot—the Lamp of Cinders!
But for some reason, he didn't unlock a new mod. He had already collected everything he needed!
Confused, Yang Tao muttered, "What's going on? Why isn't the next mod unlocking? Could it be that…?"
A thought suddenly struck him—what if the boss that was supposed to appear in the game already existed in real life?
With no other options, he made his way to the Thorn Castle, which was surrounded by thick brambles. Now that he had the Lamp of Cinders, the poisonous rain around the castle no longer harmed him.
Instead of burning away the brambles, he decided to fly straight to the boss's spawn area inside the castle to take a look.
"Damn!"
Yang Tao's guess was spot on. The boss that was supposed to appear in the game was already here in real life.
A giant sat on a throne where there used to be a wooden fence.
The giant wielded a massive diamond sword, wore a full set of diamond armor, and had a huge golden crown on his head!
"What do I do? I've never fought this boss before! I have no idea what kind of abilities he has!"
Deciding not to take any chances, he marked a teleportation point and returned home to prepare. He gathered everything that could help in battle, recharged his gear, and teleported back.
"Let's do this. Worst case, I'll just run!"
Yang Tao ate a golden apple, drank a health potion and a strength potion, then pulled out his bow and rushed forward. Since he had no idea what to expect, he didn't dare to fight up close.
The boss noticed Yang Tao and stood up from the throne, running toward him. He wasn't as slow as the other giants—this one was much faster.
But Yang Tao, flying high above, wasn't about to let him get close. He flew to a better position where the boss couldn't reach him.
Grinning, he taunted, "Let's see how you like getting pelted by arrows!"
But before he could finish speaking, the boss's diamond sword suddenly disappeared and turned into a bow. In an instant, he fired an arrow straight at Yang Tao!
Caught off guard by the unexpected move, Yang Tao failed to dodge in time and got hit. His health dropped by two points—this was the hardest hit he had taken in the Twilight Forest so far.
"That strong?!"
Yang Tao dodged the incoming arrows while firing back. The two of them kept shooting at each other for a long time. Thanks to his speed, Yang Tao only got hit that one time.
After a long battle, the boss was finally down to half health. Suddenly, he stopped fighting and returned to his throne.
Four giants appeared around him—two wielding iron swords and two carrying wooden bows.
"He can summon minions too? That's just unfair!"
Yang Tao gritted his teeth as he glared at the Giant King, who was casually sitting on his throne, watching the fight.
He tried attacking the king again, but his attacks did no damage. It seemed he had to take out all the minions first!
These giants were stronger than the ones above the clouds, with higher health and faster movement, but they still weren't too difficult to defeat.
However, Yang Tao still got hit a few times. The giant archers' attacks packed a punch, and if not for his quantum armor, the fight would've been a lot tougher.
Before long, all four giants were defeated. The king stood up again and started shooting at Yang Tao, even faster than before.
Yang Tao continued chipping away at his health, but when the king dropped to 10% health, he ran back to his throne again.
"Not again!"
Yang Tao knew this wasn't a good sign. He watched cautiously as two new giants appeared—this time, they were holding staffs!
They were giant mages.
One fired massive ice shards, while the other launched giant fireballs at him.
Dodging frantically, Yang Tao rushed toward the ice mage with a melee weapon in hand. Since he had already drunk a fire resistance potion, he decided to take out the ice mage first.
As he slashed away at the ice mage, he suddenly noticed something—when the fire mage's attacks missed him, the fireballs ended up hitting the ice mage instead!
Taking advantage of this, Yang Tao positioned himself so that the fire mage kept accidentally attacking his own ally.
With the combined effort of Yang Tao and the fire mage, the ice mage was defeated in no time!
"Didn't expect a traitor to be right here!"
With only one enemy left, the fire mage didn't last long either. Soon, he was sent to join his fallen comrade.
Now, the Giant King stood up again, looking even angrier. His speed increased once more.
Yang Tao's attacks finally put an end to the enemy.
A new element has been detected—changes are happening in the world!
