After leaving the little snow monster behind, Yang Tao flew straight toward the Ice Queen's palace. The snow monster's lair was quite close to the palace—maybe it was even the queen's pet.
From a distance, he could already see the Aurora Palace standing tall in the middle of the icy plains. It wasn't as overwhelming as the Tower of Lost Souls, but it had a unique beauty of its own. The colors of the palace kept shifting, just like the northern lights!
Inside the palace, Yang Tao encountered many monsters. Without hesitation, he took out his bow and started taking them down one by one.
After collecting a large amount of supplies from the palace, he finally reached the Ice Queen's chamber.
The moment he saw her, Yang Tao was stunned.
The queen wasn't a blocky character like the others—she actually looked like a real human!
Excited, Yang Tao greeted her, "Hello!"
Could she really be a real person? Was she another traveler from a different world like him?
But the Ice Queen didn't respond. Her beautiful face remained emotionless. The moment she laid eyes on Yang Tao, snowflakes began swirling around her feet. They spun rapidly, lifting her into the air as she launched an attack at him.
"Whoa, a beauty!" Yang Tao still wasn't sure if she was real or not.
The queen unleashed a barrage of ice shards at incredible speed. Yang Tao barely had time to react before he was hit. The attack drained a significant amount of power from his quantum armor.
"Hey! If you're not going to talk, I'm gonna start fighting back!" Yang Tao raised his bow and fired an arrow, testing her reaction. Unfortunately, the arrow struck the ice shield beneath her, doing no damage at all.
Seeing her expressionless face, Yang Tao adjusted his aim and fired again. This time, the arrow hit her directly. A red glow flickered across her body, but there was no blood—her face remained unchanged as she continued her relentless attack.
"So, you really are the Ice Queen! Who turned you into a human? That scared me for a second!"
Now that he knew she was just another boss, Yang Tao stopped holding back and went all out.
Still, despite attacking her seriously, he found himself hesitating a little. After all, she looked exactly like his type—tall, long silky hair, and most importantly, that classic icy beauty!
She didn't even flinch when hit. She just kept staring at him like he was an ant.
Thinking this, Yang Tao fired another arrow.
Suddenly, the queen summoned a horde of monsters to attack him.
"Annoying pests!" Yang Tao dashed into the group of monsters, drew his greatsword, and started cutting them down.
"Seriously, can't you see the queen is busy?"
The Ice Queen's health bar was dropping fast, but she kept fighting, repeating the same set of attacks over and over.
By now, Yang Tao felt nothing while fighting her. A monster was just a monster—no matter how beautiful it looked, it was just another obstacle on the path to victory.
It definitely wasn't because he noticed her outfit was like a zombie's, stuck to her body so tightly that it didn't move even when she was attacked or dodging.
When her health reached zero, the Ice Queen vanished in a burst of light.
Yang Tao stepped forward and picked up the loot.
The moment he saw it, a wave of excitement hit him—he had found a mini figurine of the Ice Queen in human form!
The figure was beautifully crafted, with delicate features. She stood on a cloud of ice and snow, wearing a golden crown. One hand held a staff, while the other was raised, forming a small, glowing blue ice crystal.
Even the figurine's expression had changed. Instead of the cold, distant look she had before, she now had a gentle, faint smile. Snowflakes drifted around her.
"So pretty! Too bad she's a bit small—only about forty centimeters tall."
If she were bigger, more details would stand out even more!
Carefully, Yang Tao placed the figurine into his backpack.
It was time to face the final boss.
