Chapter 34 - The First Counterattack

The war had begun.

Moris sat at the head of the long, polished conference table in his penthouse, his mind racing as Isabel, Sarah, and a handful of his most trusted allies stared at the screen in front of them. The news reports had spread like wildfire—stories about his so-called "betrayal" of his former employees, headlines painting him as a reckless billionaire who played with people's lives.

It was a carefully orchestrated hit. And he knew exactly who was behind it.

Julian Roth.

And now, Vivienne Langley was in the mix.

Isabel spoke first, her voice sharp. "We need to control the narrative before this gets worse."

Sarah leaned back in her chair, arms crossed. "You don't control the narrative, you dominate it. The only way to win is to make a bigger splash than they did."

Moris steepled his fingers. "How?"

Sarah smirked. "We give them a new scandal. A bigger one."

Isabel narrowed her eyes. "Are you seriously suggesting we manufacture something?"

Sarah shrugged. "Welcome to the game, sweetheart. This is how power works."

Isabel exhaled sharply, but Moris was considering it. Sarah wasn't wrong.

He turned to his old friend and tech expert, Leo Hawthorne. "What can we dig up on Julian and Vivienne?"

Leo smirked and tapped on his tablet. "Already on it."

Meanwhile, in the Enemy's Camp…

Julian Roth leaned back in his leather chair, watching the news play on a massive screen.

"It's working," he mused, sipping his whiskey. "The public is turning against him."

Vivienne, sitting across from him, looked unimpressed. "Too soon to celebrate. Moris is smarter than most people give him credit for."

Julian smirked. "Then we stay ahead. Keep applying pressure."

Vivienne sipped her wine, then set the glass down. "You're enjoying this too much."

Julian chuckled. "And you aren't?"

She leaned forward. "I enjoy winning, Julian. And we haven't won yet."

Julian's eyes gleamed. "Then let's fix that."

The Game-Changing Discovery

Back in Moris's penthouse, Leo suddenly let out a whistle. "Oh, you're gonna love this."

Everyone turned to him as he spun his tablet around.

A grainy but unmistakable image appeared on the screen—Julian Roth, in a closed-door meeting with a known black-market financier.

Isabel's eyes widened. "That's… illegal on so many levels."

Sarah leaned in, grinning. "Oh, this is gold."

Moris allowed himself a slow smile. "Then let's use it."

Sarah tapped her fingers on the table. "A leak to the right journalist, a whisper in the right ears, and Julian goes from corporate mastermind to corrupt villain in a matter of hours."

Isabel nodded. "But we have to be careful. If we play this wrong, it could backfire."

Moris's jaw tightened. "Then we don't play it wrong."

He looked around the room, his determination solidifying.

It was time to strike back.
