Looking at his wife snuggling extra close to his chest, he couldn't stop the pride and happiness that threatened to spill out from him. He feared rousing her from her sleep, she looked peaceful, too peaceful that he couldn't bear to disturb her. Not after knowing how antsy she's been the last few days.
"Love, where are you going?" She questioned, her eyes fighting to stay open.
He felt his throat turn extremely dry at the sight of her messy bed hair and rosy cheeks going wide as she stifled a yawn.
He smiled at how he still found her very beautiful even in this state. He went against every nerve in his body that wanted to go back to snuggling her, but it was a week day, they both needed to start the day, and with food especially.
So he continued to make his way to the kitchen, contemplating what would be perfect for a morning like this one.
Later
As he sat in his office later that day, his assistant who would normally be a very composed and competent person, suddenly entered his office without knocking. He was not shocked, just surprised, he looked at him with his eyebrows raised in question.
"Boss?" Barak, his assistant, called out.
"Yes Barak, what is it?" I answered, waiting for his response.
He hesitated before he began to speak.
"The Large house Corps. has entered the bid. I have an update on the proposal bid from the Large house. They've submitted their proposal, and I've managed to obtain a copy."
Ezekiel looked up from his desk, interest piqued. "What did you find out?"
"It appears they've incorporated our proposed solution, sir. The scope, timelines, and even the pricing structure are remarkably similar to what we had in mind."
Ezekiel's expression turned skeptical. "That's concerning. Do you think there's been a leak?"
Barak nodded. "It's likely, sir. Given the similarities, it's possible our proposal was compromised. We should investigate further to determine the source of the leak."
Ezekiel's eyes narrowed. "Get our team on it immediately. We can't afford to lose this bid due to internal issues."
Barak coordinated with the team to review internal processes and identify potential vulnerabilities. They discovered Alex's suspicious activity.
"Alex accessed the proposal multiple times before submission," Barak reported. "According to Alex, they were reviewing the document for formatting purposes. However, our team noticed unusual activity on Alex's computer."
Ezekiel's expression turned calculating. "Let's not alert Alex that we suspect them. Instead, feed them misinformation and see who else bites."
Barak created a fake proposal with intentionally flawed data. "If Alex is the mole, they'll likely pass it on to their contact, and we can track the leak."
Now, Ezekiel and Barak wait to see who will bite. The trap is set.
Deciding that he'd had enough of the day, he decided to head home and pick up his wife too, he smiled at the thought. His lovely Adelaide.
