He had driven to their villa, but made no move to go into it. He was still waiting for her. He could never tire of waiting for her, just as long as she chooses him anyway. He needed to know if she would cherish him just as he cherishes her.
And just as his patience was about to run out, anyways she was already his, she was legally bound to him, and there was no way he would sign any divorce papers, so she was his forever, he had planned to go in and let her understand that even if she regretted it now, he was never going to let her go. But right in that moment, his phone lit up, just like his heart the moment he saw 'My Wife'. He didn't hesitate for a second before he answered and immediately a happy "Husband!" rang out.
He cursed on a low breathe.
He couldn't help the groan that rumbled out of his throat. This was the first time she'd addressed him appropriately and he couldn't help the happiness that erupted in him.
She'd accepted him.
His wife had accepted him.
She'd taken a small but bold step.
Abruptly, he moved out of his car and rushed to the door in haste to hold her. It was already torture not seeing her for so long.
"Baby!" He called out the moment he was inside. He watched her eyes go wide in shock at how he'd appeared so fast, and as tears began gathering too.
"Zeke! You're back! I'm so sorry, hubby. I'm so sorry. I should have called you regardless, rather than stubbornly holding back from calling you. You're my husband, it's only right for me to let you know what's happening around me.
I promise there won't be a next time, please don't be mad at me." She said as she snifled, trying to hold back her tears.
At that moment, I realized how incompetent I was as her husband. I only just married my wife and I already made her cry, she must have gotten used to having no one around to take care of her so she shouldered everything on her own unknowingly.
"No, it's my fault, baby. I was too hard on you and too impatient. I know it's going to take some getting used to, but I want you to know I'll always be here for you. Besides we have till the rest of our lives, so I'm sure you'll get used to us." He coaxed as he lovingly pressed a kiss to her forehead.
She snuggled close to him, gradually calming herself in his embrace.
He was glad that they were now okay..
