The dining table was silent, as everyone focused on eating their food for once.
Ares kept looking at his phone he placed on the table at intervals.
He was expecting a very important call. A call that would at least put a smile on his face.
Xander had not told him how things went with the new mother. And he hadn't asked either.
Like he promised, he was going to make sure her stay was comfortable in Kolasi, but every other thing he decided to step away from.
"This is so depressing," Hazel suddenly said, unable to keep pretending the awkward silence wasn't boring.
"What's depressing?" Xander, who for once, didn't mind the silence, asked.
"This whole eating without speaking thing. We have a newborn in Kolasi. We should be celebrating," he smiled widely.
"Unfortunately, not everything calls for a party. Why should we waste money to throw a party for a stranger? As if turning an entire wing into a birthing place wasn't enough," Vivian snickered.
