Fabrice Targan's eyes flickered, their eerie glow fading until they returned to their normal state. His elongated Canine teeth retracted, but the transformation had taken its toll. A wave of weakness crashed over him, his body trembling as the insatiable thirst for blood surged. His vision blurred, then vanished entirely. The world around him dimmed into nothingness as he succumbed to unconsciousness.
Delvin darted forward, catching him just before he hit the ground.
General Smith stiffened, his sharp gaze darting between the two. "What just happened?" he asked, his voice tight with concern.
Delvin steadied Fabrice's limp form. "The transformation drained his strength. His body needs time to stabilize—he'll come around soon. In the meantime, I need a word with you. Step closer."
