Chapter 670 - Peter’s Sudden Realization

Stephen found the question rather odd and frowned. "If this followed the usual pattern, the question should be something like 'Can Peter Parker defeat Quentin Beck?'"

Pietro shrugged. "I don't see much of a difference. If Quentin lose, doesn't that mean Peter wins? Anyway, I think the answer is B. A person can't keep failing forever. Right, Peter?"

The young Peter patted his chest confidently. "I believe in my future self! I'll never let people down again!"

"Of course, we all believe that." Stephen relaxed his brows and made the decision. "Alright, let's go with B."

On the other side, Erik, Charles, and Logan had also reached a consensus. A trickster like Quentin Beck had no chance of turning the tables. His defeat was inevitable, which meant the correct answer should also be B.

Now, the real challenge was winning the buzzer race.

With the two teams' scores nearly tied, separated by just one point, maintaining a lead was crucial. Having experienced a round of the game already, Erik fully understood the importance of this.

So before answering, he repeatedly reminded Charles and Logan to make sure to win the buzzer press.

Soon, the countdown for the question began, and both teams rushed to hit their buzzers. This time, luck favored Stephen Strange's team once again, granting Team B the right to answer. Erik sighed in disappointment, but when the countdown ended, his regret turned into relief.

[Team B answered incorrectly. Player Stephen Strange, player Peter Parker, and player Pietro Maximoff each lose 4 points!]

[Team A also answered incorrectly. Player Erik Lehnsherr, player Logan Howlett, and player Charles Xavier each lose 1 point!]

Both teams had gotten the answer wrong. They looked at each other in confusion, their faces filled with surprise and disbelief.

That made no sense. From the video they had just watched, Quentin's defeat was already sealed. His schemes had been exposed, and his illusions dismantled under Peter's attacks. How could he have turned the tables?

Was Peter really that foolish?

Or did the E.D.I.T.H. not only control drones but also launch nuclear weapons?

Not only were the players in the Eternal Space puzzled, but the audience watching the light screen was equally baffled. Fortunately, their curiosity was soon satisfied.

After the question ended, the light screen began playing the follow-up footage.

The E.D.I.T.H. drones were indeed powerful. The moment Quentin's illusions collapsed, he deployed a swarm of drones against spiderman.

This also put Ned and MJ, who knew the truth, in danger. Peter initially planned to take down Quentin directly, but the drones kept him occupied. Meanwhile, Happy played a crucial role, leading Michelle and Ned to safety.

Spiderman swung back and forth around the bridge, using his agility to dodge the drones' gunfire. It was difficult, but not enough to stop him. Though he stumbled a few times, leaving his suit covered in dirt, he eventually broke through the blockade and landed on the glass walkway.

Grabbing Quentin by the collar, he punched him hard, shattering the glass dome over his head. In that instant, the drones lost control.

Meanwhile, Michelle, Happy, and the others, cornered with no way out, made a desperate counterattack and narrowly escaped the crisis.

But the fight wasn't over yet. Quentin had a contingency plan. Just as Peter was about to knock him unconscious and restrain him, he called out to E.D.I.T.H., and a drone fired a bullet, sending Peter flying.

At the same time, Quentin seized the opportunity to put on the E.D.I.T.H. glasses, regaining control over the drones.

Peter took the hit head-on, but he wasn't seriously injured. He quickly got back up and shouted, "Give me the glasses back!"

He was clearly furious. After all, he had willingly handed those glasses over to Quentin. Even if the man had crafted a convincing illusion, Peter still couldn't shake the shame of how eagerly he had insisted on giving them away at the bar. It was infuriating—he had been so naive!

Quentin smirked provocatively. "Come and take them."

The drones under his control formed a defensive line. Then, in an instant, another illusion descended. The glass walkway transformed into a dimly lit, eerie green void.

Last time, Peter had been completely fooled by these illusions, suffering a crushing defeat.

But now, he had learned from his mistakes.

Muttering under his breath, he shut his eyes and relied solely on his spider-sense to charge toward Quentin's position, dodging drone fire along the way.

Even without sight, he was completely unaffected by the illusion!

Quentin's expression changed—he finally realized something was wrong. At the same time, he noticed that many of the standby drones were still inactive, hesitating to fire. He immediately ordered E.D.I.T.H. to have all drones open fire.

But E.D.I.T.H. issued a warning: he was within the attack range, and any misfire could hit him.

Quentin didn't care. With Peter closing in fast, he had no choice but to go all out.

He shouted furiously, demanding the drones to open fire. But even that wasn't enough to stop Peter. Using his spider-sense, Peter effortlessly evaded the bullets, steadily closing the distance.

He even grabbed a drone and used it as both a shield and a weapon.

In the chaos, one of the drones malfunctioned, turned, and fired at Quentin himself. A stray bullet hit the con artist.

By the time Peter had taken care of the remaining drones, Quentin was already lying on the ground, barely breathing.

Seeing this, Peter removed his mask and stepped forward, demanding, "Beck, I trusted you. And you betrayed me!"

Quentin, seemingly gravely injured, coughed weakly. As the saying goes, a dying man speaks only the truth. In his final moments, he appeared to regret his actions.

With a sigh, he murmured that Tony Stark had chosen the right person, then held out the E.D.I.T.H. glasses to Peter.

However, instead of taking them, Peter instinctively reached out his other hand and grabbed at the air beside him.

A gunshot rang out.

Turning his head, he saw Quentin—holding a gun, finger on the trigger. The remorseful Quentin had been nothing more than another illusion.

"I won't be fooled by you again."

Relying on his spider-sense, Peter had instinctively seen through the deception.

He swiftly snatched the glasses off Quentin's face.

Quentin, truly wounded this time, collapsed onto the ground, completely defeated.
