LEAH'S POV
I woke up on my bed stretching my hands up, with my wrist bent awkwardly like I was possessed. I sat up recollecting my day's events and how they should go. It was a ritual I did every morning that helped me face my day with a sort of confidence. I was kind of anxious because I would be going for an interview in the best tech news Outlet in the whole of New York City. All the tech Moguls want to be on his good side and get the best reviews from him because his platform is large and the masses kind of rely on his judgment. I would be the happiest person on earth if my application was granted and I became an employee. Drowning in the sea of my thoughts I looked unconsciously, at the small room I was in. The walls were White while some parts were made of brown bricks. The room was big enough for me, spacious and okay. I walked freely through the room to the window to separate the curtains then I looked down the street a routine I was going to miss when I moved out of this house. I arranged the desk by the window where I had my laptop and documents, then I checked my e-mail to confirm my interview. I hate tardiness myself, I won't want to be a part of it. I took a quick shower before heading back to the room to dress up. After applying my skincare I walked my hands through my clothes, My blazers staring me in the eye begging to be picked, but it was too desperate so I didn't oblige, I saw my favorite black skirt and I was tempted Buh I remembered what happened the last time I wore it. I wore it to confirm an apartment for a friend and when I sat the real estate agent we followed was staring lustfully at my thighs like he saw some treasures there. I was scared he would grab them it got me uncomfortable all through the ride. I finally settled for a plain black turtle neck tucked into a black and gray dress pant designed in stripes. Then came another indecision, I needed to choose between flats or heels although I'll need the heels for confidence if my interviewer would be a tall person. After much thought, I opted for flats cause I needed to be comfortable. I packed my hair in a neat ponytail tail, then savored the sight before me I was ready to face the world, and I took my sweater to cover myself from the eyes that threatened to bore themselves in me. My blonde hair sat well on my face and the dress pants brought out the shape of my ass and hips. It was 8 already and my interview was by 10 so I could spare 30 minutes for breakfast, I walked from my room down to the living room. There was no one there, thank goodness cause I wasn't in the mood for awkward conversations. I made a quick sandwich and took it with milk, baby girl was ready for this interview.
I ordered an Uber to take me to Manhattan and in a few minutes my ride arrived. The drive was a long one and it fueled my anxiety, imagine taking such long rides every morning, it'll be tedious. If I'm getting this job, I'll have to move out to Manhattan. We finally arrived and I paid him his 40-dollar bill and tipped him five dollars. The man was so happy. I finally arrived at the building it was so beautiful. Tech Waves is one of the Biggest Companies in the whole of NYC and it is the best News Outlet in the city. No other News Outlet can stand it. It keeps the tech industries on their toes cause one bad review on their products can bring them down.
I went in through the door and I met the receptionist. The whole place looked organized and everyone was about their business and they were professional about what they were doing. For a news outlet, I half expected to see papers and magazines here and there and people loitering but what I saw here was something completely different. The receptionist told me to wait a bit it wasn't yet time and she showed me to a seat where other interviewees I guess were seated. When I sat a lady with a short blonde smiled awkwardly at me and I smiled back, who wears an orange blazer over a yellow dress pants? She said she applied for the position of a journalist like I cared, I got to understand that they were not all there for the secretary position. Good for me though the fewer the better. It was already 9:36am I had thirty four more minutes to rest so I decided to listen to music with my headphones so I'll be able to shut miss-color-blinding-journalist up cause she was ready to share her misfortune over failed suitors who wouldn't her walk the aisle, like she wasn't going to blind them with her blend of colors. Immediately it was 10 am I was called to the CEO's office on the 5th floor, I took the elevator there when I was out of the elevator I found out it was just an office more like an apartment …when I got to the glass door it slide open but I couldn't see through it but I was certain whoever was inside could see me. I walked in unsure of which direction to go through, I heard an artificial intelligence called Aria welcome me and say which direction I should take. I went to my left and at the end of It I saw a door, I knocked softly and open. The office was beautiful and it was filled with beautiful pictures of the CEO, the Almighty Lucas Moore. I couldn't believe I was before the famous demigod Lucas CEO of Tech Wind. Was he the one handling the interview? Why would he?…. He must be a narcissist to have His pictures filled in his office this way...I didn't even spare him a glance but he was damn cute.
