The sky turned black on the night Naruto Uzumaki was born.
But it wasn't just night. No stars. No moon. Only an oppressive, swirling mass of dark clouds above the Hidden Leaf — rumbling with silent lightning, but no thunder. Rain fell upward, as if the heavens themselves rejected the earth.
No one could explain the storm. Not even the elders. Not even the sages.
Then… came the screaming.
From the maternity ward of Konoha's medical tower echoed the cry of a newborn. Sharp. Hollow. Like wind in a cavern long forgotten.
That's when the lightning struck.
A bolt of pitch-black energy ripped through the sky, crashing straight into the Hokage Monument — the face of the First cracked in half.
And then… silence.
"He is not of this world…"
Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, stood over the child — wrapped in soaked cloth, his golden hair stuck to his forehead, his bright blue eyes glowing faintly in the dark.
The mother, Kushina Uzumaki, lay breathless. Her chakra depleted. The father, Minato Namikaze, had vanished minutes before the birth, after a strange figure attacked the outer gates — a man with no face, whose eyes bled shadows.
"What is this child?" whispered one of the elders.
"A curse," another answered.
Twelve Years Later…
The sun shone on Konoha like any other day, but the people moved faster, eyes downcast. Mothers held their children closer. Shopkeepers muttered blessings.
In the middle of the village, on the edge of the training grounds, sat a boy with ragged clothes, messy hair, and a faint scar across his chest — shaped like a spiral, with three lines crossing it out.
His name was Naruto.
He wasn't loud. He didn't prank. He didn't shout "Dattebayo!"
He just sat there, watching the clouds, feeling them whisper his name in a language only he understood.
"Naruto..."
"The Void stirs…"
He shook his head and stood up.
Today was the day of the Genin Trials. And even though no one wanted him on their team… he was going to pass.
Even if he had to do it alone.
Meanwhile… in the Uchiha Compound
Sasuke stood in perfect silence, the Nine-Tails' chakra flickering around his fingertips, like crimson fire.
He didn't struggle with it — not anymore.
The Nine-Tails listened to him. Obeyed him.
"You're not like your brother," it growled inside him.
"You're better."
Sasuke smirked. He didn't care about being better.
He just wanted power.
Enough power to change the world.
Even if it meant destroying everything in it.
