Chapter 12 - A-Rank Mission

As Kain settled back into his seat, he caught the tiniest signal, a brush of Ruby's hand against Lyla's under the table.

Subtle.

Barely a whisper of contact.

But the effect was instant.

A slow, almost hushed noise fell.

Lyla shifted awkwardly in her seat, cheeks burning, then hesitantly scooted a little closer to Kain.

Kain didn't even glance her way, just smirked faintly and kept lazily picking at his food.

Of course, Finn, being the eternal dumbass, noticed the movement and in a burst of what he clearly thought was "helpfulness" beamed and reached over.

"Aww, don't be shy, Lyla!" he said, grabbing the back of her chair and shoving it even closer to Kain's.

Kain's eyebrow twitched.

'This fucking moron'

Ruby barely bit back her laughter, coughing into her hand.

Lyla almost fell into Kain's side, squeaking as her shoulder brushed his arm but Kain, ever smooth, simply tilted his body slightly, absorbing the contact without reacting.

Like you belong there, his posture seemed to say.

Finn, meanwhile, leaned back proudly, as if he had just fixed world hunger.

"There ya go!" he grinned.

"Friends stick together, right?!"

Ruby snorted into her juice.

Kain just gave Finn a lazy nod, hiding his amusement behind a forkful of eggs.

The tension in the room was razor-thin, at least, to anyone with a brain.

Everyone else at nearby tables kept their heads down, pretending to eat, pretending not to feel the thick, charged atmosphere.

Kain's gaze slowly swept the mess hall.

The few brave (or stupid) ones who risked a glance at him immediately looked away.

Good.

Word was already spreading.

His name didn't just inspire fear anymore, it carried ownership.

And anyone dumb enough to open their mouth about what was happening at this table...

Well.

Kain had plenty of ways to handle loose tongues, threats, seduction, bribes.

Whichever worked fastest.

Kain leaned back lazily, sipping from his cup, perfectly at ease.

Across from him, Ruby flashed him a knowing, wicked smile, one that said, "We're just getting started"

And tucked under his arm, Lyla dared to glance up at him, her heart practically beating out of her chest, looking at him like he was the only thing keeping her steady.

He flicked his gaze toward her, offering just the faintest, lazy smirk, a reward.

Lyla's face turned even redder, but she didn't pull away.

Not anymore.

Combat Class

Kain ducked a heavy overhead swing, Ruby's training sword slicing through the air just inches above his head.

She was fast, no question, but Kain was faster (upgrades baby!).

Effortlessly, he twisted at the waist, letting her momentum carry her past him.

Ruby's footing faltered, and in a flash, Kain was behind her, tapping the back of her neck with the tip of his own practice blade.

"Dead," he said calmly.

Ruby pouted, spinning around and shoving at his chest, not hard, just playful.

"No fair, you move like a ghost!"

Kain only shrugged, giving her a lazy half-smile.

Across the field, the students training nearby were pretending not to watch.

They knew better than to interfere with Kain's business, especially after a few "unfortunate accidents" in previous sessions.

That's when the heavy stomp of boots broke through the background noise.

Coach Varro marched over, a clipboard in hand.

"Kain," the man barked, not bothering with pleasantries.

"You've been selected"

Kain raised a brow.

"Selected?"

Varro grunted.

"A-Rank mission. Dungeon closure. Rift just popped south of the academy. You're the best shot we have of clearing it before it spreads"

Kain rolled his shoulders lazily.

"Sounds like work"

Varro snorted.

"You get hazard pay. Plus you can bring two people"

Kain's mind immediately sparked.

Two people...

One to use...

One to play with.

His eyes gleamed just a little more wickedly.

"I'll take Finn," Kain said smoothly.

Varro blinked like he wasn't sure he heard right.

"And..." Kain let his gaze casually slide to where Lyla was practicing nearby, awkwardly swinging her sword with absolutely zero grace, "Lyla"

Ruby coughed loudly, nearly choking on her own breath when she realized what he was planning.

Coach Varro gave him a suspicious squint.

"You sure? That one looks like she'll trip over a rock and stab herself in the foot"

"Positive," Kain said, voice oozing with amusement.

Varro grunted again, as if he really didn't care, as long as someone cleared the dungeon and shoved a small scroll into Kain's hand.

"The portal opens in an hour. Pack up. You're in charge"

The coach stomped off, leaving them in the middle of the sparring field.

Ruby sidled up next to Kain, smirking with that sly, knowing look she always wore when he was up to something particularly dirty.

"You," she whispered under her breath, "are such a bastard"

Kain just shrugged, sliding the scroll into his jacket casually.

"Better a bastard than a fool," he murmured.

Over by the weapons rack, Finn was waving enthusiastically at them, having heard none of the conversation, probably still proud of himself for existing.

And Lyla?

Lyla was fidgeting nervously, glancing back at Kain with a soft, confused look.

Trusting him.

Following him.

Exactly the way he wanted.

Dungeon Entrance / Twilight Rift

The portal shimmered against the forest floor, humming low and dangerous.

Kain stood at the edge of it, arms folded, cloak fluttering lazily in the breeze.

Finn was checking his gear for the fifth time, clanking loudly and muttering to himself.

"Bro, don't worry," Finn said, grinning like an idiot.

"We're gonna crush this dungeon! You can always count on me!"

Kain smiled thinly.

'On you, huh?'

Finn really was the gift that kept on giving.

Next to him, Lyla shuffled awkwardly, eyes darting between Kain and the portal.

Ruby had already whispered enough instructions in her ear, act natural, don't break character, trust Kain.

Kain leaned down slightly, murmuring so only Lyla could hear, "Stay close to me inside. Things could get... confusing"

Lyla nodded, cheeks pink, swallowing her nerves.

Her heart was thumping, but not from fear of monsters.

It was Kain.

With a casual wave of his hand, Kain activated a small [Shadow Veil] spell, a passive enchantment that would slightly darken the areas around them, giving him plenty of opportunities to move unseen.

"Let's move," he said, stepping into the portal without hesitation.

Finn and Lyla stumbled in after him.

Inside the Rift

The dungeon was... eerie.

Jagged black stone, mist curling along the cracked floor, old broken statues looming like dead sentinels.

The only light came from faint glowing moss along the walls.

"Man, this place is creepy," Finn muttered, nervously gripping his sword.

Kain walked ahead, calm and composed, eyes sharp.

The system flickered to life in his mind.

Perfect.

He glanced back, Finn was gawking at a statue, totally distracted.

Kain moved subtly, brushing his fingers along Lyla's hand, guiding her closer to his side.

She nearly stumbled, looking up at him with flushed cheeks, but didn't pull away.

Good girl.

As they moved deeper, the air grew heavier, thicker, perfect for what Kain had planned.

At a fork in the path, he slowed, turning slightly.

"Finn," Kain called back casually, "Check that side passage. Make sure it's clear"

Finn saluted sloppily.

"On it, bro!"

He jogged off into the side tunnel without a second thought.

The moment he was gone, out of sight, Kain grabbed Lyla by the waist and pulled her against the wall into the shadows.

She gasped softly, but didn't resist.

Instead, she looked up at him, eyes wide and trusting, lips parted slightly.

"You know what to do," Kain whispered, voice low and commanding.

She nodded.

Without missing a beat, Kain tilted her chin up and claimed her mouth in a deep, slow kiss.

Behind them, Finn's oblivious voice echoed down the hall, "Nothing here! Just some old bones!"

Kain chuckled into the kiss.

This was going to be a lot easier than he thought.

Deeper into the Twilight Rift

Monsters began trickling out of the shadows.

Low-tier beasts, skeletal wolves, twisted goblins, easy prey.

Kain didn't even draw his sword for the first wave.

He moved like a shadow, snapping necks, crushing skulls with casual brutality, all while keeping Lyla close enough to smell the nervous perfume of her skin.

Finn, meanwhile, was swinging wildly, missing half his strikes, cheering whenever he accidentally landed a blow.

Kain barely spared him a glance.

The perfect distraction.

As they reached the center of the dungeon, a vast stone arena illuminated by sickly green light, the ground began to rumble.

A low growl echoed through the chamber.

Emerging from the mist came a Chimera.

Its eyes burned with hunger.

Finn yelped, falling on his ass.

"Bro, that's a big one!" he shouted.

Kain just cracked his neck, stepping forward smoothly.

"Lyla," he said under his breath, "Stay close behind me"

"Y-Yes," she whispered, clinging to his cloak.

The Chimera lunged, a flash of claws and teeth.

Kain sidestepped effortlessly, slashing with precision, cutting a shallow line along its side, baiting it into rage.

As the beast roared and spun toward him, Kain reached back, grabbing Lyla's wrist tightly.

"You trust me, right?" he murmured without looking.

"I-I do," she stammered, cheeks flaming.

"Good. Then follow every order"

While Finn was busy throwing fireballs at the air like a lunatic, Kain pulled Lyla into his arms.

Keeping her shielded with his body, but not without letting his hands explore a little lower than necessary.

Every time he shifted to dodge, he guided her hips against his, subtle enough that from Finn's dumb angle, it just looked like Kain was protecting her.

Meanwhile, Lyla's breathing grew hotter, her body trembling under his control, eyes glazed with trust and something deeper.

The Chimera attacked again, this time Kain countered with a brutal [Shadow Spear], piercing one of its wings mid-charge.

It screamed, crashing to the ground.

"Finn, finish it off!" Kain barked.

"YEAH, BRO!"

Finn charged forward, tripping once before hacking wildly at the wounded monster.

While Finn struggled and shouted nonsense battle cries, Kain pressed Lyla back against a ruined pillar, trapping her between stone and his body.

"You're doing good," he whispered, voice like velvet.

"Don't worry about anything else but me, okay?"

Lyla whimpered softly, tilting her head up, desperate for more.

Kain indulged her, brushing his lips along her jawline, savoring her helpless devotion even as blood and chaos raged around them.

Behind them, the Chimera let out a final dying screech.

Finn threw up his arms in triumph.

"WE DID IT, BRO!!"

Kain smirked darkly, pulling back from Lyla just enough to look composed before Finn turned around.

"Yeah," he said smoothly.

"Good Job"

Temporary Camp

The group found a clearing near a glowing crystal vein.

Monsters were nowhere nearby for now.

Finn flopped down onto a rock with a heavy sigh.

"Bro, I'm beat... this hero work is tough!"

Kain, ever the gracious 'friend', smiled coolly.

"You deserve a break. Actually..." he reached into his pack, pulling out a small vial filled with shimmering blue liquid, "You earned a reward"

Finn's eyes lit up.

"For real?! You're the best, bro!"

Kain chuckled softly.

"Drink this. It's a recovery potion, helps you sleep deeper, recover faster"

Finn didn't hesitate, he chugged it in one gulp.

"Man, that's got a kick!" he said, yawning almost instantly.

His head drooped.

His body slumped against the rock.

Within seconds, he was out cold, snoring like a drunk bear.

Kain crouched down, checking his pulse just to be sure.

"Perfect," he whispered.

The second he stood up, Lyla was already on him.

She crashed into his chest, knocking him backward into a patch of soft moss.

Her hands clutched at his cloak, her eyes wide and wild with need.

"K-Kain... please... I can't hold back anymore..."

He grinned, hooking a hand under her chin and tilting her face up to meet his.

"Of course," he murmured.

"You deserve a reward too"

And then it began.

Clothes slipped away.

Armor was discarded with fevered hands.

Lyla straddled Kain without shame, her back arched, her breaths shallow and rapid.

Her nails raked lightly down his chest as he explored every inch of her needy, trembling body.

Her moans, soft, desperate, were quickly muffled by Kain's mouth in a bruising kiss.

All while not ten feet away, Finn continued snoring obliviously.

Lyla clung to Kain, rocking her hips against his in a slow, hypnotic rhythm, gasping his name with each movement.

"Kain... Kain... please... more..."

He obliged, flipping their positions effortlessly, pinning her down against the moss, spreading her open beneath him.

His hands were rough, leaving trails of fire across her flushed skin.

Every thrust made her toes curl, made her cry out only to be shushed by Kain's palm over her mouth, his eyes gleaming with joy.

"This feels good," he whispered darkly against her ear.

"Eating the snack in secret"

She nodded frantically, tears of bliss welling in her eyes.

"Y-yes... don't stop..."

He didn't.

Not until she was a trembling, incoherent mess beneath him, biting her knuckles to avoid waking Finn.

Who, in his idiot glory, actually rolled over and farted loudly during the middle of it all.

Kain couldn't help but chuckle under his breath.

Lyla lay sprawled beneath Kain, her chest heaving, her entire body trembling from the sheer pleasure he had wrung out of her.

Her thighs were still twitching from aftershocks, her lips parted in silent moans.

Kain leaned over, wiping a single tear of bliss from the corner of her eye with a smirk.

"Good girl," he murmured.

Suddenly, the bushes nearby rustled.

Kain's body tensed for half a second, until from the shadows Ruby emerged.

Still in her tight adventurer's garb, eyes glowed in the moonlight, filled with amusement... and hunger.

She crossed her arms under her chest, a smirk tugging her lips.

"You two really didn't invite me?" she whispered playfully.

Kain leaned back lazily, still holding Lyla who whimpered faintly under him.

Ruby cocked a hip, glancing over at Finn, still snoring like a moron, sprawled with drool coming out of the side of his mouth.

"Hmph," Ruby said, flipping her hair over her shoulder.

"That dumbass doesn't deserve to be in the same camp as you, Kain"

Without waiting for permission, she sauntered over every step oozing seduction.

She kneeled beside Kain and Lyla, her fingers already undoing the clasps of her armor.

"I've been good too, you know," Ruby purred, pressing herself against Kain's side, her warm breath against his ear.

"I deserve a reward... right, Master?"

Hearing her call him 'Master' made Kain's grin widen into something wicked.

He grabbed Ruby by the chin roughly, making her gasp, forcing her to look into his crimson eyes.

"You're right," he said lowly.

"You'll both serve me tonight"

Ruby's eyes fluttered shut in anticipation, her body shivering with excitement.

And so the real fun began.

Kain pulled Ruby into a deep, punishing kiss, savoring the way she melted against him.

At the same time, he reached down between Lyla's thighs, drawing another desperate cry from the trembling girl, who clung to his arm like a lifeline.

Two girls.

One Kain.

One snoring idiot in the background.

Ruby was bold; she ground herself against Kain's leg, panting into his mouth, while Lyla desperately nuzzled against his chest, wanting more.

Kain handled both with masterful cruelty.

His hand tangled in Ruby's hair, forcing her head back for another rough kiss, while his other hand teased Lyla until her knees gave out again, leaving her a quivering mess at his feet.

Lewd sounds filled the clearing: wet kisses, gasps, moans, the rustling of clothes and skin against moss.

And Finn...

Finn snored louder.

At one point he even scratched his ass in his sleep, muttering about "meat pies."

Ruby and Lyla broke into tiny giggles, quickly muffled when Kain spanked both their exposed asses sharply.

SMACK.

SMACK.

They both yelped, then shivered in pleasure.

Kain, utterly in control, took his time savoring both of them, kissing, claiming, owning.

Until finally, Ruby and Lyla were stacked atop one another, panting and flushed, both staring up at Kain with adoring expressions.

Their bodies were marked, love bites, proof that they belonged to him now.

"Fucking perfect"

He said as he zipped his pants lazily back up, he looked over at Finn, the fool was now cuddling his own damn boot like it was a teddy bear.

Kain couldn't help but chuckle darkly under his breath.

"Pathetic"

He patted both girls on the head.

"Clean yourselves up"

"Can't let this moron know anything happened"

Ruby zipped up her jacket, planting a soft, lingering kiss on Kain's lips before winking.

"I'll head back to the academy," she whispered, licking her lips like a cat who got the cream.

"Good luck, Master~"

And like that, she disappeared into the shadows, leaving Kain and Lyla to deal with the moron by themselves.

Twilight Rift / Deeper Floor

It was time to end this.

The room was massive.

Jagged rocks jutted out from the ground like monstrous teeth.

A heavy mist clung to the floor, giving the place an eerie, suffocating aura.

In the center, the Boss stood.

It was a massive Stone Golem, about twenty feet tall, pulsing with dark energy.

Chains of corrupted mana rattled around its body.

Finn, holding his sword shakily, looked around in confusion.

"...Kain? Lyla? Where'd you guys go?" he whispered, panicked.

There was no answer.

Only the sound of heavy breathing... and wet squelching... somewhere behind the rocks.

Finn wiped sweat from his forehead, steeling himself.

"They must be setting up an ambush!" he thought proudly.

"They believe in me enough to distract it until they're ready! Yeah!"

The dumbass charged forward with a loud yell, swinging wildly at the boss, his blade barely nicking its ankle.

The Golem roared, raising a massive fist.

WHAM.

Finn barely dodged, rolling on the ground like a sack of potatoes.

"Any second now!" Finn gasped, shielding himself with his tiny buckler.

"They're coming... any second!"

Meanwhile, behind the rocks...

Kain leisurely leaned back against a boulder, Lyla practically impaled on him, her moans muffled against his chest.

Her fingers dug into his shoulders as she bounced eagerly, riding him in pure ecstasy.

Her armor was discarded nearby, leaving her bare and wanton under the moonlight leaking through the cracked dungeon ceiling.

Kain kissed her neck lazily, enjoying her desperate movements.

"You're a bad girl, Lyla," he whispered into her ear, smirking as she trembled harder.

"F-Forgive me, Master," she whimpered, not slowing down at all.

"I couldn't wait anymore... ahh... I needed you...!"

"I'm not complaining, haha!"

He tightened his grip on her hips, thrusting up suddenly.

Lyla screamed, quickly muffling herself by biting his shoulder hard.

All the while, Finn's pitiful shouts and metal clanging echoed in the distance.

Kain chuckled darkly.

Poor bastard was still fighting for his life, thinking help was coming.

Back at the fight...

Finn's buckler shattered.

He screamed, diving behind another rock.

His face was bloodied, his armor dented.

The Golem raised both fists, preparing a finishing blow.

"KAIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!" Finn shrieked at the top of his lungs.

Kain sighed, pulling out of Lyla with a wet pop, much to her desperate whimpering.

He zipped up lazily, patting her flushed cheeks.

"Later," he whispered.

Then he stepped out from behind the boulder, calm, collected, looking like he hadn't just been balls-deep inside Finn's girl.

He snapped his fingers.

A crimson spear of energy materialized in his hand.

[ Skill: Blood Spear ]

Kain lazily hurled it.

The spear obliterated the Golem's chest, punching straight through it like a hot knife through butter.

BOOOOOOM!

The Stone Golem shuddered, its core shattering into shards, before the entire beast collapsed into rubble.

Finn blinked, coughing from the dust, staring at the destroyed boss in disbelief.

"K-Kain... you were... you were setting up a sneak attack all along!" he said, tears of gratitude filling his eyes.

Kain smirked, dusting off his coat.

"Yeah," he lied smoothly.

"Good work holding it off, Finn"

Finn beamed like a dumbass, standing proudly among the wreckage.

Behind Kain, Lyla peeked out shyly from the rocks, her face flushed and glowing.

Kain turned slightly, flashing her a devilish grin.

'Poor bastard, he'll never know how balls deep I was in his girl while he dying'

As the shattered remains of the dungeon boss dissolved into nothingness, shimmering loot chests manifested around the party, floating with an ethereal glow.

Each chest glowed differently:

Gold and crimson for Kain.

Silver and blue for Lyla.

Brown and grey for poor Finn.

The gauntlets floated into Kain's hands, dark metal with red veins pulsing like living blood.

When he slipped them on, they adjusted perfectly, as if made just for him.

He smirked.

"Not bad"

Lyla's Chest:

[ Item: Celestial Willow Wand ]

[ Rank: S ]

[ Effect: Greatly enhances healing and support magic. Boosts personal mana pool by 40% ]

Lyla gasped, cradling the ornate silver wand to her chest like it was a newborn child.

"Thank you, Master," she whispered, eyes sparkling with affection... and something darker.

Finn's Chest:

[ Item: Blazing Edge Sword ]

[ Rank: B ]

[ Effect: None. It just looks cool. (Flaming aesthetic only.) ]

Finn grabbed the sword eagerly, waving it around like a kid with a new toy.

"WOAH! Look, guys! It's ON FIRE!!" he grinned, completely missing the [No Actual Enhancement] tag floating above it.

Kain and Lyla exchanged a look.

Kain almost felt bad.

Almost.

A few minutes later, they stepped through the collapsing Rift portal.

The shimmering doorway folded in on itself with a loud crack, and they found themselves back on Academy grounds.

Only—

Flash! Flash! Flash!

Cameras exploded all around them.

A crowd of reporters swarmed, pushing microphones and recorders in their faces.

"Is it true you cleared the Rift as a three-man party?!"

"Youngest team to ever clear a Rift, and on your first A-rank mission?!"

"Kain! Kain! What's your secret?!"

"Kain, are you single?!"

"Lyla, are you dating the hero?!"

"Finn, what was it like fighting such a terrifying boss?!"

Poor Finn stood proudly at the front, still clutching his useless B-rank sword like a hero, drinking in the attention like a sponge.

"Heh... well, it was nothing, really," Finn puffed his chest.

"I trusted my teammates! They were setting up attacks and... uh... I held the monster off!"

In the background, Lyla stood demurely behind Kain, blushing sweetly, her new wand tucked carefully against her chest.

Kain, meanwhile, slid his hands into his pockets, grinning lazily at the cameras like he owned the damn world.

"You're the best, bro! Can't wait for our next mission together!"

Kain smiled warmly at him, hiding the devilish glint in his eye.

"Oh yeah, Finn. Next mission... it'll be even more special!"
