Kaito picked up the sturdiest stick he could find and stood up, his mind was flooded with crude techniques and ways of how to use the stick almost instantly. It felt a little nauseating, but the feeling subsides quickly, but his knowledge and mastery did not. He now knew hundred of ways to use the stick lethally.
"Come on, come at me whatever you are! Come on you filthy beast!"
The young frail man, now brimming with confidence, took a step forward. Kaito quickly felt uneasy and moved to the side, a wolf-like creature jumped out of the bush, hitting its head on the tree where Kaito had rested just a moment ago. The young man's gaze swiftly rose above the wolf's head as it shook off the disorientation.
[Adult Dire Wolf of the ElderWood Forest].
A smirk formed on his face as he continued to read, having already taken in the yellow hue in its name. It wasn't that much stronger than himself, but the next words sealed his doubt and worry.
[Rank: Latent Beast]
Without delaying any further Kaito let the stick fall down like a guillotine, the stick hit the disoriented beast on the back of its neck, soon after he raised his foot and kicked the beast away before it could gain focus once more.
"You're finished-"
The beast had regained its focus, no longer disoriented; it dodged the strike Kaito intended to deliver. Then lunged at the frail young man with its terrible maws. Right before they reached him, Kaito thrusted the stick into the beast's mouth. As the stick snapped under the force the frail young man spun, avoiding the beast's lunge while simultaneously thrusting the end of the stick that had been sharpened by the Dire Wolf's dagger like teeth, impaling the beast's skull.
'That was too close! God, my attribute is nothing short of amazing!'
As the young man watched the Beast slam against the tree and fall down lifeless he fell down to his feet. Soon a soft and soothing voice whispered into his ear.
[You have defeated a Latent Beast].
Before Kaito could celebrate his first kill in the trial, the voice returned and whispered into his ear once more.
[You have obtained a weapon].
The young man's eyes widened in excitement as he quickly opened his profile and scanned it until he found the Weapons row.
Weapons: [Bone Cleaver].
[Bone Cleaver] Rank: Inferior.
'Amazing... My first kill and I get a weapon? [Hated] is such a joke!'
[Bone Cleaver] Weapon Description: [This dagger put together roughly, it was made from a razor sharp tooth of an adult Dire Wolf].
[Bone Cleaver] Attributes: [Instinct].
[Instinct] Attribute Description: [The user's senses are improved and heightened while holding this weapon].
'Amazing... It's real..'
Kaito did not linger, he immediately summoned the weapon, after a few seconds sparks of blue light materialized into a roughly made dagger. As his fist clenched around the hilt of the dagger a nauseating feeling washed over him once more. He soon gained an inferior rank of master over the dagger. The feeling vanishes after a few seconds.
The young and frail man did a phew amateur slashes at the air before smirking, he was ecstatic. However, he wanted to test out his attributes a little more. He glanced at a rock that laid only a couple of feet in front of him. Kaito reached down and grabbed to rock, the same feeling striking him once more then subsiding quickly. His mind now had a plethora of ways to throw the rock lethally.
'This is just amazing... If only that damned innate ability of mine didn't forcibly limit my abilities, I would become the strongest ever! Or one of them for sure!'
As the youth gleamed at his abilities he heard multiple growls, his eyes narrowed, Kaito brandished the [Bone Cleaver] and glanced around. His heightened senses allowed him to feel what was surrounding him.
'Dire Wolves, an entire pack of them.'
The frail young man tensed, his new attribute was great, but it wasn't all powerful. But against mindless creatures near his rank it might as well have been. Just before the wolves pounced on him, Kaito initiated his attack. He grabbed a rock and threw it at a wolf that raised its head from the bush, revealing its ears. The rock flew with great speed and pierced right through the eye of the beast. The voice returning and whispering a familiar and soothing sentence into his ear.
[You have defeated a Latent Beast].
A smirk formed on the frail youths face once more as he began to pick up two more rocks and throw them at two more wolves.
[You have defeated a Latent Beast].
The joy did not last long, the remaining 3 wolves pounced on him simultaneously. This forced him to awkwardly twist his body to avoid being mauled and plunging the dagger down on the skull of the wolf that had missed his side. Swiftly he turned to the other two wolves.
[You have defeated a Latent Beast].
[You have defeated a..]
[You have been defeated...]
[You have obtained a charm].
After a few minutes he let out a soft sigh. Sitting in the middle of the corpses of three wolves was a frail looking young man, his. Clothes tainted with blood that wasn't his. He was currently looking at a large blue panel in front of him, his gaze focused on a specific row on the panel.

'Am I really hated fate and everything? Sure maybe I'm hated by those wolves, but they aren't even a huge threat. Maybe I can work with this...'
The frail young man began to stand up, a grin still plastered onto his face, it was an oddly disturbing sight. Kaito was surrounded by the courses of wolves yet was smiling. Was he growing arrogant? One thing you do not want in a trial is arrogance. It is the downfall of all Enlightened.
Arrogance brings along a false sense of strength, making one feel as if they could tackle anything. As if nothing was out of their grasp, but that's how they fall. They grow too arrogant and Stumble upon an enemy stronger than them. Shattering their confidence and leaving them vulnerable for a second. That second is all a beast needs to tear them to shreds. This was something Kaito would learn really soon.
Kaito jumped back and almost tripped on one of the corpses as the Blue panel appeared before him abruptly. This time it was stating his mission, what he needed to do to clear the trial. The frail youth's face paled more than it already was. In horror Kaito began to read the dreadful words.
[Mission: Bring the spirit of the Great ElderWood Forest to rest, eliminate the Distorted Monarch, GrymWake].
[Remaining time: 2 Days].
