Without thinking, the two stepped forward—BONK!—foreheads colliding in a mini headbutt of rage.

"Wait... is your father a god?" Vin asked, narrowing his eyes.
Miyo scoffed."Why should I answer that? You're just a lowlife."
Vin grinned wickedly."Huh? Weren't you the one crying, 'My FaThEr LeFt Me~' HAHAHA!"
BONK!Their heads clashed again.
Cue ten full minutes of nonstop arguing and mutual roasting—Insults flying, egos bruised, not a single productive word exchanged.
Finally—
"ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT! I'LL STOP! JUST STOP INSULTING ME FOR BEING AN ORPHAN!" Vin yelled, clutching his head.
"You started it! How dare you call me flat!" Miyo shouted back.
Vin blinked."Aren't you?"
Miyo froze."..."
The wind blew.
Leaves rustled.
A single, awkward silence settled like a rock between them.
A breeze swirled around Miyo's fingertip, glowing faintly with energy. She raised her hand and pointed it at Vin, her eyes narrowing with smug confidence.
Vin, frozen in place, couldn't even flinch in time.

A tiny gust of wind hit Vin's shoulder. He barely felt it as he instinctively raised his arm to block.
There was a moment of silence.
Then—
"AH! NO WAY—MY POWER! IT'S GONE!" Miyo screamed, staring at her finger like it had betrayed her.
Vin blinked.
Then grinned.
Then burst into laughter.
"PFFT—BWAHAHAHA! THAT was your power!? You used up everything on that baby breeze!?"
Miyo's face went red with embarrassment.
Ten minutes later...
Miyo had finally calmed down.Both of them sat side by side on a thick tree root, the glowing blue leaves above casting soft light over them.
"Turas is a god," Miyo said quietly.
Vin glanced over."Hm… so does that make you a goddess?"
She shook her head."Not quite. I was born from a god seed. I'm... a lesser lifeform created by a god."
Vin tilted his head."So…?"
Miyo shot him a look."It makes me half-god, dumbass."
"What's the other half?" Vin asked.
Miyo looked down, brushing a glowing leaf off her lap.
"We don't know. The only way we can become true gods is by discovering what that 'other half' is. My father helped my sisters find theirs... but not me."She paused."He said I was broken. Not perfect."
Vin blinked."Yeah, I can see that."
Without missing a beat, Miyo exploded into action.
WHAP! WHAP! WHAP!
Slaps, punches, elbows—Vin got hit with a barrage so fast, he barely had time to breathe.
"OW—WAIT—CALM DOWN—AGH—OKAY I'M SORRY!"
Vin lay face-down on the forest floor, bruised and groaning.Miyo, still fuming, stepped on his face and rubbed her foot into his cheek like she was putting out a cigarette.
Vin barely managed to croak out:
"Is this… a gift?"
Miyo froze.
"Ew."She immediately backed away like she'd just stepped on a dead rat.
Vin coughed, spitting dirt."Not the worst thing I've experienced."
"Stay at least five feet away from me from now on, perv!" Miyo snapped, crossing her arms.
Vin rolled his eyes, brushing dirt off his face."It was a joke... And anyway, you don't need to tell me what to do. I can finish the task without your help."
...Wait.
He froze.
Huh?...I still don't know what the task is.
Vin slowly turned his head toward her, dread creeping in like a slow-loading boss cutscene.
"Miyo... do you know what my task is?"
Miyo smiled sweetly."Yup."

Vin's mind spiraled.
I knew it—I freaking knew it. She's not gonna tell me!
"Tell me it, pleaseee?" Vin pleaded, eyes practically sparkling with desperation.
Miyo blinked.

She leaned in with a smirk."Just that? Say it like your life depends on it."
She started giggling, clearly enjoying her power trip.
Vin sighed in defeat.He took a deep breath, swallowed his pride, and bowed slightly like a butler from an anime.
"I'm sorry... beautiful lady Miyo. I won't insult you or disobey you ever again..."
Miyo tilted her head, enjoying the moment.
"Aaaaand?"
Vin stared at her.
