Stormy Thunder
When Xavier reached his office and entered, he saw two people sitting on his couch. Marcus and Lucas were dumbstruck when they saw Xavier smiling, but their smiles disappeared the next moment.
"Xavier, I have something to tell you," Lucas said excitedly.
"Go on," Xavier answered.
"I saw sister-in-law in the office today," Lucas said, waiting for a reaction, but Xavier just pushed a new trolley aside like it was nothing.
"Fuck, Xavier, don't tell me you knew she was coming here," Lucas said.
"Yes, I knew she would be coming here."
"What?" Marcus and Lucas exclaimed at the same time.
"What is she doing here?" asked Lucas.
"She applied for a secretary position. That's why."
"Fuck," both guys muttered again.
"So, Xavier, have you told Miss Deyna that you're her fiancé?" Marcus asked.
"No. I want her to find out herself," Xavier answered. "Besides, she's innocent and funny. It'll be fun to play with her a little before she finds out the truth."
"Wait, don't tell me that's why you were smiling earlier," Lucas said suspiciously.
"That's not your business," Xavier replied with a glare.
Lucas raised his hands in mock surrender. "Alright, alright. I'm backing off."
"Xavier, I still haven't found any information about Stormy Thunder till now. She's very good at hiding herself, and I think she still doesn't know your real identity as Xavier besides being the King of Hell in the underworld," Marcus said.
"That's good," Xavier replied. "But let me log into my account and see if she's online."
"You can both leave now. I have things to do. But one thing is certain Stormy Thunder's hacking skills are on par with mine," Xavier said as he turned to his computer.
Marcus and Lucas stood and left the office, leaving Xavier to his thoughts.
Stormy Thunder, the Queen of the Underworld, was someone Xavier had never seen her real face before.
Despite all his efforts, he hadn't been able to investigate her properly. Every time he tried, he ended up back at square one. He had even tried to remove her mask she uses to conceal her identity before, but it never worked because her fighting skills were just as sharp as her hacking ones.
And its not like he can use voices to trace her because in the underworld, no one uses the same voice the use in real life.
It was said in the Underworld and even anyone knew that Stormy Thunder had a wolf tattoo on her back that became visible whenever she wore a crop top. She was the most annoying person in Xavier's life, second to Iris. Just thinking about her spoiled his mood.
But when he thought of Deyna as his fiancée, a genuine smile lit up his face.
"She's interesting," he thought.
When Deyna reached home, Lina greeted her with curiosity.
"How was the interview?" Lina asked.
"It was okay," Deyna replied simply.
"But why don't you seem happy?" Lina questioned.
"A rude guy bumped into me, and he didn't even apologize until I confronted him," Deyna answered with a frown.
"So that's what has you all worked up? You're not even happy about your successful interview?" Lina asked, amused.
"And what's so funny about that?" Deyna asked, clearly irritated.
"Maybe you two are meant to be together forever," Lina teased, laughing.
"Come on, Lina! He's Rude! And if he were the last man on Earth, I still wouldn't marry him," Deyna scoffed.
"But you don't know what fate has in store for you," Lina said with a grin.
"Yes, yes, yes, I know. Now let's go eat," Deyna said, brushing it off.
And just like that, the day passed by quickly.
Xavier arrived home, took a bath, and tossed himself onto the bed, only to be startled by his phone ringing. Without even glancing at the caller ID, he picked it up.
"You brat! Have you recruited the secretary I was telling you about?" his mother's voice came through sharply.
"Yes, Mom. I have indeed recruited a secretary. We'll start work tomorrow," he replied, rubbing his eyes.
"Who is she?" his mother asked curiously.
"No, no, no, Mom. That's not part of your business. Bye-bye. I'm so tired. I need to sleep," Xavier mumbled before quickly ending the call.
