Chapter 3 - three

"Olivia." I hear again, the voice getting louder and I can tell Shane is drawing closer.

I don't reply him because I'm still in shock and too busy admiring the handsome guy just in front of me. He just saved my life, I really don't know what the drunk man would have done to me if he didn't come in time to help me.

The stranger stares at the drunk man with his piercing green eyes, almost growling at him, as if giving him a sign that if he tried anything again it would be the last time he ever saw daylight.

I see fear in the old drunk's eyes, immediately begging for mercy as he fixes his eyes on the tattoo I just saw earlier. He immediately scurries away, leaving his knife behind.

"Olivia." I hear again as Shane immediately takes my second arm.

Suddenly I realize I'm held by the both of them, each on my wrist like two kids about to fight for the last chocolate cookie on the plate.

"What on earth.." he lets out, trying to yank me away from the other guy unconsciously.

The strangers grip doesn't even budge a bit, he just turns around and looks down at me. His piercing green eyes focused on me.

"I'll make sure I get him." He tells me. Wiping away the blood from my chin.

"Don't go after him." I reply, flustered as I study his features.

His eyes are still focused on me studying every detail on my face, observing if I was hurt anywhere else.

"You know him?" Shane lets out, I could see the confusion on his face.

"He saved me." I tell him.

I could see the guilt on his face when he realized I was in serious danger.

"I shouldn't have let you out of my sight." He sighs and places his palm on my cheeks.

"You should get this bandaged," that's the next thing I hear from the stranger before I feel him let go of my wrist.

"Come with me." He finishes, glancing at me before striding towards a black car parked a few meters away.

I waste no time following him once I realize my lip started bleeding again. Shane let's go of my hands and is just a foot behind me. We both walk towards this guy's car, and this mystery guy gestures me towards the front seat of his car and goes to his trunk and gets a first aid kit.

He pulls out some gloves, and medical supplies from his box before he starts disinfecting my lips with some alcohol. He swabs the area really well and I sink my fingernails into his arms in pain. He didn't seem to mind, he just kept his piercing green eyes focused on me while he did it. After he cleaned up my injury, he placed a bandage over the corner of my lip.

"Your boyfriend?" he lets out, gesturing toward Shane.

This makes Shane feel even more possessive of me as he moves even closer getting territorial.

"No, he's my best friend." I tell him, looking into Shane's eyes.

I don't know why but I feel Shane was disappointed when I called him my best friend, why is that? He has always been proud of the relationship we both had so why is it different now. Shane doesn't say a word, he just sighs at the guy.

"Okay good," the handsome stranger confirms, before patting my cheeks like I was a little girl being taken care of by her elder brother.

I feel butterflies in my tummy after his reply, what does he mean by 'okay good.' Does he mean he might be interested in me? or was he trying to tell me I'm with him now?.

"Would you and your bodyguard here need a ride?" He demands softly.

I see Shane is clearly exasperated at this point as he yanks me out of his sight within seconds saying "let's go!"

I turn back to the stranger who was unfazed by Shane's behavior, he just leans over his car. The wind blowing across his pitch black hair with a stoic expression on his face.

Everything in me wants to go with this guy to wherever he's going to, I don't really care at this moment. He's a complete bad boy but yet so tender and in control. A complete alpha male, masculine and dominant. Yet I don't know why I hesitate to reply him.

Before I could say anything else he speaks instead.

"Red Velvet high." Then he smirks.

"Yes" I reply softly, looking at him. I felt a sense of relief realizing he would at least know something about me besides my name. For once I'm glad I'm wearing the school jacket today. Thankfully Shane drove us here directly after school and I didn't have any time to pull it off.

"Stay out of trouble." He finishes, gesturing to Shane it was finally okay for him to take me away.

"Olivia." Shane says as he pulls me behind him, knocking me out of my daze.

I didn't even have the time to thank this handsome stranger, he didn't even get my contact information. He was so handsome and all I can imagine is his piercing green eyes studying my features. His chiseled jaw lines and his perfectly built figure.

Shane takes me back into the restaurant and sits down directly opposite me. At this point endearment is registered on his face as the waiter brings the side dishes we ordered a while ago. I'm back to reality and I think I'm in a more calmer mood as my brain starts working fine processing the whole situation.

"Olivia, what really happened," he sighs in relief.

"I'm so confused. The guy with the knife was trying to hurt you?"

"What.." he trails, brushing his hands through his brunette colored hair with his hazel eyes fixed on me analyzing every inch of my body.

This makes me narrate my whole experience to Shane, he listens to me not even flinching for a second, paying attention to every single word that comes out of my mouth.

Once I got to the part of how the handsome stranger stepped in and protected me from the old drunk man, I could sense jealousy from Shane. I don't know why the guy bothered him so much, it was as if the other guy was crossing boundaries he shouldn't cross. Like I was his and it's confusing cause we are just best buddies.
