Synopsis
Possessing Lucien Arkwright’s body was the unluckiest decision Silas Redfield ever made—in life and in death. First: he’s never been a teacher. Second: he hates kids. Teenagers? Even worse. Third: no overtime pay. Not a single coin. And the cherry on top? He’s stuck in a magic academy novel … where Lucien is branded a failed instructor” and is one step away from being kicked out. To make things worse, his ever-so-kind superior has dumped him into Class 1-F—a cesspit of rejects, delinquents, and ticking time bombs. Every previous homeroom teacher lasted less than a week. Babysitting brats sounds like hell. But quitting before payday? That’d be plain stupid. So, what’s the plan? Simple: survive long enough to break the system from the inside—and maybe, just maybe, crush a few egos along the way.

Chapter 1 - Prologue

At least, I just wanted to go on a vacation.

Nine hours of work, three hours of overtime, and only two days off each month.

It's not like Silas Redfield worked for some shady company running a modern-day slavery operation.

He just thought the overtime pay they offered was too tempting to pass up.

Besides, it's not like he had anything better to do after work.

No girlfriend, no family, no real friends.

Sometimes, he'd scroll through social media at night—watching cute cat videos or creepy folk horror monologues—but it wasn't like he actually enjoyed it.

Maybe somewhere like Hawaii or Bali.

But then again, Silas figured those places would be too loud. He wasn't fond of crowds, anyway.

How about Kyoto?

Some quiet rural town, where he could rest his overworked mind.

Or maybe Jeju Island?

If no one was really watching, he might even enjoy swimming.

The traffic light turned green, and a chorus of angry honks behind him snapped him back to reality.

Silas hurriedly stepped on the gas and drove forward.

That's when he saw it—the blinding headlights from the left.

From the opposite side of the intersection, a bus was speeding toward him, completely out of control.

In that split second, Silas tried to think of the best way to survive.

But… it was too late.
