Cherreads

Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4 : UNITED.

Cera, Roya and Shiro were all together as a trio now, running down the street. Cera looked back at Shiro, who seemed to be struggling, giving him paper wings to float. He had just been disabled, after all. There was no doubt that he'd get tired faster than the two of them. Shiro wasn't like them.

"Whoa...these wings are sick...but I do have to ask," Shiro glanced at the both of them before he spoke, "Where ARE we going..? Also, what IS this 'Aetheris'..?" He spoke, confused about his current placement.

"Since the government are currently outside, we have enough time to head back to where we usually stay." Cera sighed before Roya quickly butted in.

"Newsflash! We don't live in Aetheris. Despite how flashy it is, it isn't really a good place to be." She spoke as her head glanced towards Cera. Shiro watched her looking at him while they were running, and they slowly came to a stop.

"Jeez, Roya, you are ONE lazy person." Cera groaned as the paper wings fluttered off of Shiro's back, causing him to safely land on his feet. He looked in confusion at the two of them as Roya started complaining.

"It's not me being lazy, my eyes are just really tired...I left my glasses, y'know!!!" She pointed at her eyes before Cera's head suddenly clicked, lifting her up onto his shoulder as clutched onto Shiro's hand, pulling him into his arms. With a slow lunge, paper floated around his back, creating wings of paper that flapped aggressively.

"You're lucky, Roya. LET'S GO!" He shouted as he sprung into the sky, Shiro screaming as he passed out from excitement. Cera soared across the sky, looking in La Roya's pocket for a glowing orb, charging it with his own energy before a small rift sparked open, causing them to soar into it, landing into a new area, the grass vibrant and luscious, darkened by the night sky. In the center of it sat a home alongside a river. Cera used his paper wings to quickly slow down their trajectory, quickly lifting their bodies up as he descended down to the ground, holding the two of them.

"Thanks, Cera!"

"There's a reason why I did that, you know? Go and find your glasses. They're important." Cera spoke in a calm yet demanding tone, causing Roya to laugh.

"You're not my dad, y'know!!" She shouted as she entered the house, looking over at the table at her glasses, putting them on as she walked back out, watching Shiro slowly wake up, his face distraught from the experience of flying at high speeds.

"I need an explanation....."

"Of what..?" Roya asked, tilting her head.

"Everything- like- how did you know I was placed in Aetheris, why am i here, and just...how..." Shiro spoke, standing up slowly as he looked at the both of them. Cera looked over at the door, walking him inside along with Roya as they sat down at the table. The both of them thought, remaining quiet while looking at him.

"Right now, you're in Averune. We use the Ovalithe," Cera spoke as he pulled out the glimmering artifact, "An artifact that allows us to travel to this realm. Along with Averune, there are multiple layers, with this one currently being the smallest and safest out of all of them. We can't answer the questions that we don't have the answers to. Sorry about that."

"It's fine...at least I know where I am....right..?" Shiro spoke, putting his head down on the table as he yawned. Cera and Roya both looked at him, sighing. Roya was the first to stand up from the table, stretching her arms before yawning herself.

"I'm heading to bed. You can deal with him." Roya smirked as she went into her own room, the door quietly closing. Cera groaned, using his paper to slowly rise Shiro from the table without waking him up, moving him into his room. Luckily, he had a spare bed, due to him not needing it. He took it out of the closet, gently placing it onto the ground as the papers flapped towards it, slowly landing on the bed.

"We'll get them back....all of them..." Cera spoke, standing up as he went outside, holding his head up to the sky, keeping his emotions intact as he took a deep breath, "I can't blame myself. It wasn't anybody's fault." Cera looked up at the glimmering stars, seeing one in the shape of the bird, glowing red in his sight.

In his sorrow, he shifted his sights back towards the house, walking back in as he put the Ovalithe back in the drawer. Turning the lights off, he went back to his room, sleeping in his own bed, quickly falling asleep.
